So glad to find someone showing it on textured hair.

I don't know about anyone else, but having curly hair, the big original was so hard to get my front bangs or the roots, so i'm excited for this smaller one. I used to have to go back in with a flat iron at the roots or use a round brush. Or really take my time when my hair is first lightly damp and focus on the front and roots first. Or else, these one-steps are usually good as a secondary styling once i've handled my roots first.

Thanks for this great review! I am curly-haired, long-time flat iron user and have been thinking about trying one of these brushes. I just found out today about Revlon’s updated version and had no idea which one might be better. Thanks for doing this comparison!

You’re so welcome! I’m glad you found it helpful. Omg I was a lonnnggg time flat iron user too lol and the flat iron still has its place but this tool definitely took over the first place spot my flat iron had for so long when it comes to smoothing my hair. I use my flat iron more for curling my hair now!

Hot tools seem to have a detachable line as well. So my assumption is that this is just the start of revlon doing a whole series. I will say, I prefer my hot tools version over the revlon version (of the original). The hot tools one comes in a nice sleek black look, it is thinner seemingly (by a smidge) and had a longer cord. The brush was not as sensitive s the revlon and didn't bend like my revlon did. My revlon also started to burn out over time or have burning smell. Otherwise, the original revlon works well for most people. I definitely am going to try this smaller verwsion though. It looks great.

Thanks Lea! I have curly frizzy hair and it is just a mess trying to style it. Then I got a really bad haircut with short, choppy layers (not what I asked for). Anyone with thick curly hair knows that short choppy layers balloon up! I have been using a flat iron which somewhat tames the frizz but doesn't really smooth out the ends of the layers. Can't wait to go get this! Again, thanks!

OMG! This is a game changer. I want to cry. No more big frizzy hair! It makes my hair so smooth, even with the bad layered cut that I have right now. One thing that Lea said is important. It works best on almost dry hair. Just a little bit damp. I let my hair air dry and slightly damp when I use it. Thanks again for the demo!

Thanks for reviewing - I did notice when you looked straight onto camera, it seems your left side (old model) was a little larger, like you used a different size roller on that side. Your new one is totally different than the new one I got, mine is turquoise and does not have a detachable head. It gets just as hot as the old one, only difference is it is smaller. Both Med and High heat are VERY hot even on the new one, so the only difference I have noticed that Revlon made on the new one I got a few months ago (summer 2022) is it is smaller - I can not use it to dry my hair as the heat is way too hot - only thing I can use it for is to put on cool setting to smooth out hair after air drying it. I'm really disappointed in Revlon, I was hoping they were going to fix the heat issue, but they did not 😕 I am curious - are you in USA? I know sometimes companies make different models for different countries, so was curious if you are outside USA ??
