LanceHasPants a piano is pressing a sequence of keys at different velocities in a specific order. A launchpad is pressing a sequence of buttons (which are velocity sensitive with the new launchpad) in a specific order. Doesn't seem too different to me. And what do you mean he's not playing live??
Crimson The Dragon what I'm saying by "live" is that he's not playing the audio live from his laptop as he's playing it in the video. What he did was record himself playing it while ableton records the midi, and then he rearranged the midi notes to make it sound perfect. Then he exported the audio and put the MP3 over the video of him playing it on the launchpad.

Guys if you listen and watch closely he's not even playing the music. For ex. when he presses a button more than once it changes sound but he is still pushing the same button. Or when he did the vocals, the words changed every time but pressing the same 8 buttons. It's just him playing the lights to the music, but the light show was AWESOME though!
Actually he may also play the song. Specially in the beginning his right hand hides the buttons on the right. If he presses them, he can change the set. That would explain the different voices but same buttons.

These performances are 100% live and do require a SHIT TON of practice and many takes to actually get through a set. he knows what hes doing when he makes these and im sure we have all thought these precise cuts were to good to be true but they are.

I love the part at 0:55 where the launchpad lights on the left look like an audio equalizer with the beat. So cool :D
