      I saw a screen test from 1947, Brando did a screen test for Rebel without a cause, and I couldn’t recognize that was Marlon. He was so green, nervous and over acted. So it proves that even the greatest actor(in my opinion) struggles to adapt to the visual medium, there’s hope for all of us.

    One of the best of all time , He’s pretty laid back and chilled as a person. But he has played some of the most intense characters in cinema history. I wonder whether some of those roles like Taxi Driver, Cape Fear, The Deer Hunter, Raging Bull really stuck with him or how he wound down when they finished filming. I’d find it difficult to shake off such an intense role no matter how good I was

    Hi, first of all, I'd like to say that I love your videos and advice. I plan on going to acting classes/school for beginners or even using your master class. However, that might be a long time from now! Is there ANYTHING I could do to improve my acting before I go to classes? Maybe there's an exercise or a practice that'd allow me to be more expressive or allow me to feel the emotion on the script on command? Please, I don't want to be a laughing stock when I get there because I have no experience with acting WHAT SO EVER ( I didn't even play 'pretend' when I was little ). I know that after reading that last sentence, you probably think that I'm not fit to be acting if I couldn't even play 'pretend' (or you may not). But, I've been bitten with the 'show business bug' and I can't shake it! Please, if there's anything that you could recommend, I'll appreciate it...thanks in advance.

    • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  4 года назад +3

      I’d suggest working on a few things to start out. One would be confidence. In order to become an actor, you need confidence. This doesn’t mean arrogance, but confidence to do the work. You do this by facing your fears each day. Doesn’t have to be huge fears, but simple things as talking to someone or going up and acting in front of others.
      Watch good acting. If you want to do plays, watch good theatre Actors (you can find full play clips online) or if you’re interested in film watch good film actors.
      For learning and practicing, you can get it by taking classes, watching these videos, the 10 Hour Acting Masterclass, etc.
      Hope this helps!
      Cheers

My Schoolmates teased and called me names everyday and therefore I had bad grades and that for about 7 years . I always had A jobs. I never got along with my fellow human beings. I always felt like an outsider and until today. I moved to the United States got married and worked there. My x wife did not wanted me after 5 years and was mentally ill. I think somebody could male a movie out of it and who would play the role better then the person that has lived it?

    The arts have been sucked dry by the elite show business industries. While the top stars have been making billions upon billions of dollars with great, mediocre and shitty films, our live theater venues and acting studios barely make enough to keep the doors open. Yet we get Meet the Fockers 4 or Iron Man/Batman 6 or whatever blockbuster comic book garbage gets fed to us. And now after the governments of the world have nearly destroyed small owner/operator enterprises with this pandemic horseshit, the time is ripe for stars like Robert and his A list society to give back, and give back huge. It makes me sick to my stomach that the theater where I did much of my work will not reopen. Many small stages are just going to disappear. And the march of stupidity will grind on and give us more nauseating crap like Harry Potter, the Musical. Disgusting.
