I realize this is a old post, but I'm hoping someone that tried one of these would elaborate on how well it works with coins, Morgan dollars are my bag and even with their large size I'm finding it tough to focus on. I can't use the normal 10x or 20x jewelry loupes due to hand problems, the small size of them causes problems. I'm looking at one of the above eschenbachs in 12.5 magnification..if anyone has one of these please let me know your thoughts on it.. Many thanks, Russ
I just got one for inspection. Most used tool on a daily basis for me. I've been through 5 or 6 cheap lit magnifiers so wanted something that would actually last and takes normal batteries. Plastic lenses are rubbish. Hopefully it's the last one I have to buy for a while.
I was thinking about getting the 10x.. I am happy to hear and see the optics from your new "Eschenbach 10x".. I guess I will get the 5x first.... Thanks very much for the link to where you got it, I have been looking at them and they are expensive.. Happy to check out the place where you got yours.. Is "Camera Girl" your wife??? Swanny..

I hear you.. My wife is the love of my life.. We have been married 27 years and it's all good... I sent you a message asking about your opinion on the camera that came with your "AmScope" microscope.. Does it take the same quality pictures that you showed in the "2017-P Errors" video.. Your microscope came with a .3 MP camera.. I was just wondering if I should get a 3 - 5 MP camera to go on the one I am looking at.. AmScope has a much better LED light ring that you can use on your scope also.. Thanks 4 Your Time J.
ok, thanks, I found it on Amazon.When you get older your eyes don't work as well when looking at coins for long periods of time. This 5x is made in Germany. Looks to be good quality.
I went to Hobby Lobby today and paid $10.00 for a 4x to 8x LED lighted magnifier. Works great.
