I wouldn't say that GT:NH is forgotten, mostly because of the fact that if you started playing it when the pack came out, you'd still be working on the quests to this day.
Bit surprised with the inclusion of GTNH as it's being actively worked on with brand new features added each update on top of arguably being more popular today than it's ever been in its' entire history. That being said, still going with Blood n' Bones as my suggestion. One of the few (if not the only one) difficult modpacks not on either extreme (either having mobs that cause a nuclear explosion when they walk target you the moment you spawn in or having to play 1000 hours to craft a door) of the modpack difficulty scale. Something very unique about the modpack (correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the only more popular modpack that does this) as well is that armour gives you no actual protection and instead gives extra hearts, so even in the late game you are essentially just running around fully naked.
I miss the old modded minecraft servers that used to be around playing with over 100 people on a modpack was so cool as it had alot of interesting interactions and bartering with people who didnt like one mod for items i needed
9:03 BLIGHTFALL! WOOOO!!! The plot thickens even more since it got updated last year!✨ Delta biome dome spawn is a wild choice, Beta Dome is simply too iconic- (Also Hexxit and Voltz mixed servers were the best, using a tech suit to punch a Lich King was peak Minecraft)
I played blightfall recently. Mostly a decent pack, but the endgame is so tedious that I gave up on it. Move cleaning machine, refill with essentia, wait, repeat. Wasn't going to do that for 30 hours.
There exists an official Hexxit II on the Technic Launcher, the pack was made by xJon who also made Tekkit 2 and Tekkit SMP. Both being official sequels to Tekkit Classic and Tekkit SSP, all of them are still actively maintained while trying to be as faithful to their predecessors as much as possible and even Hexxit II is going to receive a large update soon.
i don't remember if this modpack was in the 1st video, but if it wasn't. Blood and Bones. i feel like most people remember this modpack from SSundee's hardcore series on it, but blood and bones is memorable to me because it was a modpack that was made to make minecraft SUPER challenging like RLCraft today.
Blightfall mention wooo!!! I went on to the blightfall subreddit after the last video you made, which i was supprised to see was still really active, and even found a group that started a new server a day or two ago. Joined up with them, and had a great time, and we managed to complete it! We were planning to do more mod packs after, starting with FTB Inferno, but unfortunatley all of us (aka the 3 of us) all got really busy, so that's fallen by the wayside. Still keep in contact with them from time to time, though!
Please do Kingdom of the Sky! It somehow popped up in my head since you made me remember my favorite childhood minecraft youtubers (feromonas, monark, venom) and that modpack just never left my mind for some reason
It was good to see what VoltZ modpack was about mainly. 🙂 There is one modpack which wasn't finished officially, but it can be playable nowadays on Curseforge launcher, GDLauncher and other Minecraft modpack launchers. That modpack is "The Ferret Business", I watched the RUclips series about that modpack more than 7 years ago. There is the Quest Book mod which provides a little background story and rewards after doing crafting quests.
it feels weird that the first captain mention on a modpack is one I don't remember. for a few packs, like crash landing last time I was like "I remember sparklez playing that, that was so cool" and then he comes up in Blightfall and I've never heard of it. which mostly means the joys of new videos to watch
Noticed at least three of the mods shown here have progression and quest systems. Maybe an interesting idea for a future video is to cover ten of the best quest/progression mods and packs for Minecraft so folks like myself can use it as a checklist when deciding on which to play. Could even make a sequel or two.
I remember one modpack that my kids wanted me to add their games from back in the day. It was a pack that added dwarves and building s which had entrances going down to a dwarven village. It only lasted like one update before it was forgotten LOL.
I wasn't expecting to see GTNH in this video It's neither ancient nor forgotten It's still being updated to this day, and anyone who has ever played GregTech has either already played GTNH or at least knows about it and is scared to start it
It's like a fork of the game at this point. They're straight up backporting whatever they need from more modern versions to keep 1.7.10 alive which I am so here for
Blood n’ Bones was definitely the best hardcore modpack of its time, and I’ll always see it as better than current hardcore modpacks which struggle to give the same kind of challenge it did
I remember a modpack (or maybe standalone mod) that was a sort of rpg runescape overhaul with a complete cohesive story mode with a pregenerated story world, with mostly custom ui and menus, including the main menu having unique game modes. I dont remember what version it was for, but i think it was before 1.9
The Legend of Notch was an awesome RPG modpack and map, and though it never fully came out as a release it was something I’ve never seen anything like since
I personally had a lot of fun with the Yogscast Complete Pack back in the day, which is variant of Resonant Rise. Resonant Rise seems to be pretty much gone for years now.
Hey Paladin! You covered More Creeps and Weirdos a couple months back, and wanted to inform you we're updating to 1.21. We're currently working on the port, but got PLENTY of pictures, screenshots, and even a demo in the next few days to test out.
one of my nostalgia moments was the Big Dig pack on technic, A friend and I played on a server, and eventually set up a store to sell meth and weed made with minechem. if anyone remembers master bates meth emporium(the name of the shop) you deserve a veterans discount.
Tbh, as an Alpha player, I don't know/remember a lot of mod packs from the earlier days of Minecraft (2010-'14). Whenever I heard about a mod pack, I'd just look into its list of mods if there was anything I could add to my own collection of mods. Now, I'm a HUGE fan of mod packs. The tools and systems we have now definitely contributed to our change in mindset about mod packs.
I think a not necessarily underRATED but under represented benefit of questing modpacks is how good they are for introducing new players to modded minecraft. To those who've followed their historical progression they feel intuitive, but for new players those 100+ mod modpacks are SUPER overwhelming. We know buildcraft, tinker's construct, mekanism, etc. in and out, basically assumed knowledge. Progression limited questing packs are like pure gold for new players. I started playing with a friend who was completely new to minecraft, we started with Agrarian Skies, have progressed through more packs over time and now she's basically a pro.
This is the only series where I didn't forget about it but simply never knew about it in the first place. If it were Polish modpacks on the other hand...
Hexxit was and still is my go to, no other modpack encourages living like a nomad quite like it. I would play for hours until I got a double backpack filled with rare and shiny stuff. (PvP was awful though lol, Thief's Armor Manyullyn Rapier meta was impenetrable)
not sure if this counts as it’s not a released modpack but you could briefly go over epic proportions which had 9 seasons with 9 unique modpacks popularmmos made
I played hexxit, agrarian skys and crashed landing from the first video. Hexxit is one I really enjoyed but haven't found anything that scratched the same itch.
What modpacks should go in part 3?
Not nostalgic but there are Scape and Run Parasites modpacks
Feed The B-Team, maybe? I vaguely remember that being popular.
'Attack of the C-Team'
if we're talking old skyblock packs, you gotta mention skyfactory, certainly wasn't the first, but damn it's legendary
SkyTable! You HAVE to cover SkyTable. It was LEGENDARY, and no one seems to remember it even existed
I wouldn't say that GT:NH is forgotten, mostly because of the fact that if you started playing it when the pack came out, you'd still be working on the quests to this day.

Gregtech new horizons ? I will never forgot this hell-like modpack
you dont wanna spend 15,000 hours beating the block game??!?
@@PaladinRyan i don't want to waste these hours of my life, gregtech nh is the hell !
the Voltz fiasco will forever be one of my favorite Yogscast moments

I'm so glad you put Agrarian skyes on this one. I was shocked it wasn't in Part 1 considering all modpacks changed and were different since then.
9:03 BLIGHTFALL! WOOOO!!! The plot thickens even more since it got updated last year!✨

There's a tekkit 2?? Oh man I need to try that immediately

Man Hexxit always was my thing. One of these days i need to get the boys back together and play it again.
life in the woods renaissance was a good chill modpack I enjoyed exploring it a lot back in the day.
Bee happy was a mod pack I played from along time ago, it would be nice to see it talked about once again.
Modular power suits is one of my favorite classic mods. I need something like that in today's modding landscape
Cooked heavily on the editing, good video, RYAN.
My favorite one was the one that causes my computer screen to emit photons.

Great video Ryan! One day I would actually like to try one or two of these modpacks I haven’t heard of, possibly Blightfall

Agrarian Skies being considered ancient makes me feel old af.

i only add them to the list if you specifically forgot about them
