Hi, no matter how hard I try, in the "clutch valve calibration" procedure it always aborts for safety reasons, all the others finish fine, any idea why it does that?
So is this all that needs to be done if the only 'Trouble Code' is 'Clutch Adaptive Learning at Limit?' Or could it need much more extensive, expensive repairs other than this calibration?
My S4 B8 gave me an error message saying "Aborted For Safety Reasons" when attempted the adaptation. I'll try to follow your procedure to see if it will work

I am going to try this soon on my B9 with OBDeleven. It looks like all the same steps, just slightly different names. I can see all of these under Basic Settings : -Erase counter for start and stop processes -Clutch Valve Calibration -Distance Sensor Calibration -Reset transmission adaptation values -Clutch engagement point adaptation

After install we dont get any transmission errors (do have P190F00 coolant pump for charge pressure) however the vehicle doesnt shift gear at all ... is there a basic adaptation that you would run in this situation ? or a number of basic settings ?
Great walkthrough of the adaption process its very helpful. I have just fitted a new clutch, mechatronic unit electrical kit and gaskets ( the gasket had blown out where the pressure valve is), oil and filters to my car should I perform any other adaptions for example the main pressure valve calibration etc or would I just do the same as you have done in this video. The phenomenon is that when you put it in D or R from a stationary position, the gearbox hits hard, but only when the oil warms up. I adapted the clutch, but only drove 1-2 kilometers with the car. is it possible that I should drive the car 100-200 kilometers to learn it? thanks!

I did the process, before I felt the car shifting from P to R now it was smooth, and from P to D the same, but I think I didn't do the right adaptation process, because now from P to D it shakes the car, at the clutch point in the two values only major possitive steps process appears, is everything already complete?

Have you figured out what was the problem? I have the same error after transmisson rebuild... Changed clutch disks and etc. But I have sliping clutch symtomos now.
Bookmark this video for the future lads, this is the only correct procedure for this gearbox. Everything else can be ignored. The last step, however, can take an hour to complete if done in a controlled way, or it may actually never complete if left on its own.
@@mizaqenyad4269 There are certain channels that you need to watch on diagnostics while driving the car in odd and even gears until controller responds that adaptation is complete for both clutches. I don't have the car anymore, here are notes I took a while ago: Erase any error codes Temperature 50+, drive 10-15km VCDS Basic Settings: Engine off - VCDS Reset to factory defaults Engine on, handbrake on, brakes engaged, gear selector in P - VCDS Adaptation of engagement points clutches Drive in manual even gear (2, 4 or 6), rpm 2000-2600, until Engagement point broken in Drive in manual odd gear 3 or 5, rpm 2000-2600, until Engagement point broken in Smoother you drive, faster it will cycle through adaptation steps (as reported on VCDS): First major positive step Second major positive step Middle negative step Precision adaptation, negative step Engagement point broken in
Erase error codes even if none present This will help if gearbox adaptation is off or components were replaced. If gearbox has problems, this may only help temporarily before returning to misbehavior.

Second step with clutch valve calibration gives me Aborted due to Safety Reason status. ATF temperature is like 40-50 revs are going higher during procedure but it doesn't work. Any idea how to make it work?

Trans is at 50C, ign on, in park and parking brake on....
I don't think any diy person would be able to afford buying a VCDS tester. So doesn't this make all RUclips videos regarding this program useless for the average consumer? For example I need to replace the water pump on my VW Golf 5 GT because of a faulty magnetic clutch for the supercharger. After the replacement (where I also need to buy a special tool for the belt tensioner) I then would have to buy an expensive VCDS tester just to do the magnetic clutch adaption. I believe it is much cheaper to just let a garage do all the work

I did this on my 2018 A4 with a DL382 / 0CK gearbox. Nothing Broke, car shifts slightly better now.

Cant execute Erase counter (first step). Fluid 50C, error: Request out of range. Others steps works fine. Any idea?

yes. did it 2 days ago. my suggestion - do first 1-3 steps at lowest ATF temp possible (35 ℃) before starting “clutch kiss point calibration” (45+ ℃)

Also clutch one is stuck onEngagement point middlePositive step. Watch number two has been broken in. I drove about 800 miles

Yes you can, I have tried it on mine. Just make sure the fluid temperature is less than 60C

VCDS isn’t that expensive.
I use VCDS all the time. Well worth it.
If you plan to own VW made cars, a VCDS is gonna be very worth it in the long run. Limited VIN ones are very affordable.
@@kft4764 In my view $650 is pretty expensive. In comparison a garage can do the task for about $55
