I don’t say this lightly, but if our QB. Whether it’s Thorne or white or Hank or whoever, if they throw accurate passes, auburn is in every single game they play.
I saw what Cam Coleman did in his high school tapes, I saw what he did in A day, and honestly, that’s absolutely filthy. Malcolm Simmons and the one I’m looking forward to most, Perry Thompson. If auburn can get them the football, auburn will very easily win 9 games. Maybe 10 if Bama aient ready cuz of the coaching change.
Since the playoffs are expanding to 12 teams very easy to see a world where freeze gets us there this year
Besides the ratings of the players in the portal, 2 factors that are less easily measured are 1) Impact on recruitment when you loose someone in the portal from your home state or adjacent state 2) Influence on the culture and locker room as a whole by guys that are being brought in - fit and buyin.
I now feel significantly better about the defense but we still need to pump the brakes and keep our goals realistic. 8-4 is now completely doable but I refuse to go past that number not withstanding a cam ward like transfer. You still need to score tds to win a game.

“Crushing” may be a bit of an exaggeration but looking intently at the portal moves impacting Auburn, most rooms have a net improvement if you look no further than the rankings of each position group. This coupled with the incoming talent, along with the key coaching moves should position this team for success.

Personally I think 2 of these transfers have a real shot at starting. We get the Penn State receiver we possibly could be much better than anyone expected.

I’m going on a limb. If one other reciever breaks out and we can stop on 3rd we will make the playoffs. Robert Lewis and Cam Coleman might be the duo Thorne needs. Thompson will be in the plan by the middle of the season. If not this season, we definitely make a run next season.

I’m completely on board with the new additions but let’s be honest about it. None of these guys will demand the attention of double teams game 1. The scheme along with their play can change that as the season goes but we aren’t there yet. Applaud the staff for their efforts but let’s keep it in perspective. Both units have to prove it to strike fear in other programs.
I wish could have got Walter Nolan to in the winter. Auburn might not be done in the portal at DL Derrick Harmon from Michigan State is in the portal

Please stop putting to much on Auburn Football 🏈 because Auburn has a record of winning National Titles when not expected to be ranked know higher than 25th ranked. 2010 ring a bell. No need of placing a bullseye 🎯 on Auburn when Auburn hasn’t Proven anything in football for years. Auburn Basketball had to recruit for Auburn Football before Firing one coach, which had No Experience, and didn’t even want to.

Easy Zac. The sec is not all of a sudden scared of a 6-7 team because they picked up a few backup defensive lineman. Being successful at Indiana and Arkansas state doesn’t automatically translate to being successful at Auburn. Let’s not pretend we just got Riley Leonard or cam ward along with a Keon Coleman or 2 at receiver and a Walter Nolan at defensive line. Yes we needed more depth on the d line but we didn’t pick up and game changers. Last season we had the #2 portal class in the nation and it didn’t help us at all. We went from 5-7 to 6-7.

Well....lets add a bit of context to that 6-7 team. Outside of a whooping by A&M, LSU, and a weird loss to NM State.....who else ran AU off the field? Bama game was in hand, GA game was in hand had Jaylin Simpson been on the field AU likely would've held off that final possession, Ole Miss was in hand and winnable. That hodge podge team that couldn't pass last year realistically should have been at least 8-4, which was way above the capabilities of that roster. 8-4 is looking like the floor.....maybe 7-5 as the floor.

Why must everyone keep blaming Gus malzahn? Gus did nothing but win. Every single season Gus malzahn won more games than he lost. 2023 auburn lost more games than they won. 2022 auburn lost more games than they won. 2021 auburn lost more games than they won. 2012 auburn lost more games than they won. 2008 auburn lost more games than they won. Gus had avgood year in 2 out of 8. He destroyed our offense talent. Quarterbacks always got worse the second year under him and he lived off Kevin Steele for years. He can’t win bowl games. Do I need to keep going? Gus messed up on day one by firing Trooper Taylor because if he would have kept him Rueben Foster was ours and a player like him can change the trajectory of your program.Gus is a loser who should have been fired in 15 and we wouldn’t be in this mess.
Btw Gus also should have only had 3 wins in the Covid year but the review board saved him in 3 games. Remember who controls the review board. You know by where the review board is located. Then ask yourself why would the bamers be helping Gus get to 6 wins?
