Really interesting video. I've actually been a photographer for years and haven't figured out my style as yet. I've mostly done family and couple outdoor portraits but I'm open to challenging myself and trying new things. Thanks for those great tips!! I didn't know about you before tonight but I'll be looking out for your advice from now on!
Really appreciate that, thank you!! :)
Thanks
Thank you!!
Great video. I struggle from short attention span and constantly hop from style to style as I try out different things. I've been shooting for over a decade and still have no idea what I want my style to be.
Thank you so much! I definitely get the hopping and wanting to discover where your style is. I'm curious if trying any of these practices out will help. I'd love for you to keep me posted if they do!
Ms. Teague, when you said you're "based in", you had me listening. I thought, "This is a woman of education" and next she even applied it. Wow.
This is such a kind comment, thank you!!! I really appreciate that.
Absolutely amazing video! I’ve been shooting for only a short amount of time and I’ve been struggling to find my style. This video has shown me that I can make these list that you suggested and I will put into practice and see the differences it’ll make moving forward. Thank you for this video!
I really love hearing that!! Please keep me posted if they make a difference for you! I love hearing people wanting to try this :)
@@EmilyTeague Will definitely keep you posted! Thank you again!
I don't think I could ever do one genre I love portraits family boudoir outdoor shoots maternity all of it
I think there’s a difference between genre and style. I shoot portraits, fashion, and photojournalism and even though they’re all different, my style is still consistent through those different genres :)
Take photos, more photos and more photos, keep shooting and after a couple of years and 1000s of photos later you know what your own style is. There is no magic recipe. You develop certain patterns, light, shadows, color, concepts, feel, etc. I believe there are two different thinks, your style and the creative process. Cheers
Agreed!
