AMTK 82 (Phase VII) P42 departs Emeryville

After a night's stay at Amtrak's Oakland Yard, AMTK 82 is ready to lead the train back to Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. Amtrak train 6, The California Zephyr to Chicago arrives into Emeryville station with a seemingly perky crew up front greeting passengers on the platform with a wave. Shortly after a west bound Amtrak Capitol Corridor cleared the soon to be Quiet Zone crossings and checking in for a Form B, AMTK 82 departs Emeryville station to begin its long journey east to Chicago. Sounding off a stellar sounding K5LA.

P42 82 wore 4 different paint schemes: Phase III (1997-2002), Phase IV (2002-2005), and Phase V (2005-2024) and as of this year, Phase VII.
