Is it possible to improve on something that was so perfect and wonderful to begin with? How can William Bell be in such good voice and look so young forty years on from when he first had a hit with this song duetting alongside Judy Clay? This is totally marvellous.

I was 23 in 1968 and remember the original. Whether remembering or re-listening to original, Wm. Bell and Texas do a more moving, heartfelt version.
