    I'm all for original parts, but I like it better when things work. If you ever need to sell, you'll still have the OEM ones

      And he can get them rebuilt by a pro outfit and they’ll be worth a lot more!

    Might want to mention that adjusting the mixture should be done with a hot engine

      By the time you synch them the engine will be warm.

    I have a china 40IDF. I run on a baja, and it's a great carburetor. I will buy more for my builds.

    When you adjust these or solex's / zeniths , disconnect one or both of the down linkages, then adjust the rpm, and idle jests. after its all adjusted to your liking, connect one side see if the RPM goes up, If not then do the other, it should slip fit over the ball without any RPM change, . This will tell you if you have any wear in the linkage. If the RPM changes adjust the down rod length to match the RPM screw setting with no change in RPM.

    Loved remembering helping synchronising that one time in 1987. Big trauma just happpened and this synchronising taught me to rebalance my life, emotions, ego whilst being pregnant. Little less here, little more there... the techniques of letting go 🙏🏼😘🥰

    I've only heard good feedback on these carbs. Ps consider synchronizing your carbs with the linkage disconnected. Then when you are happy put the linkage back in. Check they are still synchronized. Plus check at higher rpms

    From experience any Chinese carburettors are ok for a short time, they don’t use quality parts on them so they wear out quickly. Personally I’d prefer to spend a little extra so I don’t have any problems later on.

    I bought an EBay carb to replace my worn out Aisin carb on my 2F Landcruiser. I was shocked how well it ran afterwards. However I feel a bit guilty putting on cheap Chinese parts on my rig.
    Speaking of Landcruiser, when you going to finish yours?

    Now remanufacture the original carbs. A few brass inserts on the linkages, ultrasonic solvent cleaning, and basic rebuild will get you most if not all of the way there. Otherwise, I'll hold on to your old carbs for you ;-) I'd add I usually have to deburr cheap carb/throttle body butterflies from china, and blow out machining swarf. They are usually fine, but the QA process leaves a lot to be desired and you are playing the casting lottery every time.

    Hi, fom which seller did you get them on ebay? Direct from China?

    • @Jerod_Helt
      @Jerod_Helt  2 года назад +1

      There are several sellers on eBay, these shipped from CA, I got them in 2 days, but I also found some that shipped from the east coast.

    Is that an additional brake light over the license plate? if so where did you get it?

    • @Jerod_Helt
      @Jerod_Helt  2 года назад +1

      Yes I bought it on Amazon for about $10 and made a plate that fits behind the license plate. The hard part was running a wire all the way to the master cylinder. Since the brake light and turn signal on this car use the same wire you need a new wire from the master cylinder.

    One question...how did the car run when driven?

    • @Jerod_Helt
      @Jerod_Helt  2 года назад +1

      Exactly the same as with the solex carbs, it just idles better now.
