On a side note...at the 4r gift shop release on September 14th, the last 50? or so, in line, received their bottle in a white bag instead if the usual black one. These contained bottles hand signed by Brent Elliot, Master Distiller. I'm not sure if anyone else noticed that, as it wasn't announced.
Great reiew Dan! I remember people cleaning out the LCBO (Ontario Gov't stores) in early 2014 of the 2013 FR 125TH for $85 a bottle. Still have 1 and 1/2 bottles left from the 3 I had. Picked up a 130th in trade a few years ago for a 2019 OFBB and that will likely be the extent of me getting another. I found after being open for a few months these get so much better, at least for the 125th it was. Cheers!
I thought this was a Distillery only release. And unfortunately this like other releases from other brands is just ridiculously over priced for alochol. And not a bottle I’m even looking for. I was willing at one time to pay 150 for a single bottle but the older I get it just isn't worth it I can get a single barrel Four Roses and be good with it.
Short answer - NO! They make money from FOMO and lots of whiskey drinkers bite. Advice, ALWAYS do blind tastings of new whiskeys, competing against a whiskey or two that you know and love. Since our smell and taste buds change every day that is the only way to know for sure how a new one compares.
Appreciate the review.
Cheers my friend 🥃

Nice review DD. I have the 2023 135th Anniversary Edition and think it is fantastic. I would buy the 2024 if I can find near MSRP. 🥃
These are usually always good!! Cheers my friend 🥃

The price is definitely high on these especially at secondary. Hope you can find one in the wild close to msrp! Cheers my friend
