I was at the distillery back in October. I was trying to recall my C&K prices from back in Indiana and it all felt high in their gift shop... THEN I took a look at the prices on all the apparel items...whew-we! Made the juice prices look tame 😂 Beautiful grounds and all the stables nearby...Woodford being basically right around the corner never hurts either.
I bought a Original Grain watch last year thinking it was going to be a quality watch for what I paid for it. Six months after buying it the wood bezel breaks, I contact OG and they did not originally want to send me a bezel to replace it with. Took it to a jewelry shop to have them put the new bezel on and now three months later it is showing signs of cracking again so I had to quit wearing it. Seems to me that a couple of people I know have all had the same or similar issues with their watches. I understand that they paid for the add but for me personally I can't say the watch was worth the money.
We stopped in there on our way home from Louisville 3 weeks ago and Doc poured us a taste of the J.Mattingly they had. So amazing that we walked away with 2 bottles. Had never heard of J. Mattingly until Doc suggested it and boy was it delicious! What a great place to stop and shop.
My wife and I stopped by that store at the 24:50 mark and first thing I asked was the price on the stagg jr. I then noticed that marked down rack and found a sagamore barrel select bourbon junkies pick. 6 yr "Swordfish oil" from 2020 for $39.99. Only bottle i bought at a store on our trip.
Went to several of the big distilleries with group of friends for tastings, the Castle and Key Wheated was one of our favorite pours of the day! All of us left Castle and Key with that bottle. Delicious🤤
There’s been a huge popularity boost of bourbon in the states. Scotch and Irish Whiskey aren’t that popular. The prices are insane. Bourbon probably just isn’t as popular over there. I imagine it’s probably the prices of high end Scotch and Irish Whiskey over there is probably more comparable, but then again, I haven’t visited there. What is the whiskey world like in the UK?
I’d agree with the earlier commenter that Bourbon is more popular here than it probably is abroad. Especially in the United Kingdom where Scotch and Irish Whiskey is probably more popular. However BT at £20 is $25.48 before tax so depending on where you are in the US BT ranges but in my neck of the woods, TX, it’s around $30-35. So that’s not too far off, considering its popularity. Note the price I’m listing is from big box stores. There are plenty of good mom and pops selling close to that price. But I’ve seen some shops sell BT for near $70 and that’s just highway robbery for BT.
You are getting them for MSRP. Many stores around me sell for MSRP but the only problem is they go quick so you don't see them often. In these videos you are mostly seeing him find these bottles where they sit for a long time because the shop is selling at aftermarket prices.
I live in Arizona and it is less than $30 at Walmart. Of course that is the world’s biggest retailer lol but at our other big box stores like Total Wine or Trevor’s it is around $45. Same at all fry’s here (Kroger brand)
@@H_azzard It also might be important to note that a lot of the pricing is due to the liquor laws in the US. I’m not sure what the liquor laws are in your area, but the US government allows the states to dictate how stores operate, whether that be state run liquor stores or retailers and independent sellers. Certain states must legally sell liquor at retail pricing, while others allow the store to dictate their own pricing. I live in Kentucky, which I consider us to be the Wild West of liquor pricing, where a store can sell liquor at whatever price they see fit. Theoretically, they could sell a Macallan 12 for $1 or a Pappy Van Winkle 23 for $4000. Being that bourbon has become so popular, even regularly available bourbon has seen a spike, so allocated bourbon which isn’t readily available has seen a much larger spike. People are willing to pay a markup on a bourbon that they desire, so liquor stores price it higher and sometimes significantly higher than retail price. I’d either guess that bourbon isn’t as popular in your area or your laws dictate that it must be sold at retail, but the price you’re seeing on it is the equivalent to retail in the US

Hope you worked with your insurance agent on the right policy for the new vehicle. If you are using it for commercial work you need special riders on the policy. If you plan to haul barrels of whiskey... make sure you know all the laws for any state you enter. Similarly, if you are using that truck for personal and work you should be tracking the miles separately. You have worked for yourself for a while so you should know most of this, but when you get into transporting good in a vehicle the insurance gets more complex. For example, normally you don't need riders for cargo. Cargo is never covered under a normal auto policy. You can insure inventory with a commercial policy, but it might have location restrictions... which is why you need insurance that covers the transport of goods.
