Good video. I especially like you showing how it was with loose cables. I've ordered a Roomba and I have a few cables that aren't necessarily loose but plugged into stuff and was wondering how it would do. Thanks for the demonstration.
*I run the m6 daily, and my floors look awesome🌼 **allabout.wiki/BoostIQ** I wet mop 2 days and dry sweep the rest of the days. When I first got it, I used the included disposable pads. I didn't like them--the dry pad has no depth so if it picks up a chunk of something, like dry cat food, then it pushes it around or drags it around the floor. The wet pad wasn't very absorbent so left streaks and wheel marks.*
Just to help out with the self-emptying bin project, I found a special bag on eBay that looks identical to the normal bag but has a zipper on it so you can empty it out. The item was called: "iRobot Roomba i7+ Vacuum Clean Base Robot Automatic Dirt Disposal Bag Handmade". I hope this helps!! 😁
Hi, a question. If you ignore the mopping function of the Roborock S5 Max and the price difference, which is better as a robot vacuum in your opinion: the Roborock S5 Max or the Roomba 960?
Both are really good robot vacuums, the 960 has been known to last a really long time 5+ years, the Roborock S5 Max is too New to Tell. I find the App on the 960 easier to use, more intuitive. iRobot really spend the research and development to make an easy to use robot vacuum. The S5 Max offers the best value, lots of features for a lower price, smart mapping aka area select, keep out zones, multi level mapping, mopping and the Navigation is the best in the industry. So if you have a lot furniture the S5 might be the viable option
Is there a self-emptying base for the 960? I keep searching and can’t seem to figure it out. That’s the number one thing I wish was different with my 960.
@@RobotMasters thank you for the response! In your honest opinion, is it worth getting a newer one with a self emptying base or is the 960 enough? I have a two-level home but only use downstairs. Its about 1800. We have one cat and one dog. Our biggest issue is our floors. Our house was built in 1930 and has original hardwood. Its very hard to keep the floors clean. I bought rugs to help catch some of the dust, but I thought maybe the 960 would help keep the floors even more so. What are your thoughts?
Hmmm, the self emptying system is a nice convenience but not a necessary option. If you don’t mind emptying the robot your self every week or so than I would say the 960 is better and you will save some money too. If you are thinking about getting a self emptying system, you can always buy the i3 than later on get the self emptying system for the robot later on.
I haven’t done an official pickup test but I will see which one picks up More 👍🏻 as a comparison PS yes iRobot was nice enough to send it to me 😀, and I think the value really good.
Another great video! I know this bot is a bit old now, but would you consider doing a video on the Samsung Powerbot R9350? I can't find any really detailed videos on this bot, thanks!
Was that really the first cleaning run or had it already created the map. If it was the first run with no map, that's impressive. Don't see Sharkie in the lineup anymore. Did he get kicked to the curb?
Do you tried the imprint link between the 960 and m6? Must be interest to see how the robots behave in the cleaning, because the mapping is so different
So basically it the same as on the i7, once the 960 docks aka finishes the cleaning run, the m6 will start mopping. Keep in mind both robot use their own separate map
@@RobotMasters thanks 👍 You can do a video on that, for the ones who want a less expensive roomba, but with a link to the m6. There's no videos about that 😉
Hi if you have the i3+ and the i8+ can you do a hole house cleaning with the i7+ s9+ i3+ and the i8+ it’s fine if one robot needs to be recharged you can show the other robots.
Or they are throwing everything have behind i series. Why would anyone buy a vacumm with resume/recharge that can't empty its bin. My guess price drop coming for i series soon. Shark has shaken irobot up
While the 960 does have smart mapping, you can't interact with the map aka Keep-out Zones and Room Select. This is for the iAdapt 3.0 navigation which the i7 has. The i7 and 960 have similar dual extractor design, but the i7 Vacuum Motor in the robot where as the 960 located in the Bin making the bin not washable. Everything else is about the same.
The 960 is just a somewhat cheaper version of the 980 that was released later for some reason, and the 980 has been discontinued. AFAIK the only differences are the color on top, the vacuum motor (980 had hi/lo power settings and carpet detect), and the battery capacity (though I wouldn't be surprised if a 980 battery works in a 960 anyways).
I'm still inclined that my next bot to replace my aging Roomba 560 work horse will either be the Roborock S5 or Shark IQ if Shark Ninja fixes the plethora of bugs it has.
The 960 will do a back and forth cleaning pattern and will remember it location if it needs to return to the charger to recharge and pickup where it left off. The 900 series does not have the smart mapping aka room select or keep out Zones
Robot Masters always go touch walls, stop and go turn, because looks lost needs touch walls to relocate himself. I’ve try to remap quite few times but still looks confused. BUT it finish by doing a good job it’s just taking so much time.
Sometimes he goes back in another room that he previously clean and go bump the wall 3 times then coming back cleaning what he started. Just a waste of time.
I have an email in my about page on my RUclips channel. You can contact me and I can forward the problem to the iRobot Manager, very good at responding and fixing issues.
Interesting sounds like that the normal operation, the 960 will go into a room that it previously cleaned just to check where it at by bouncing into the wall a few times

i know it's kinda off topic but do anybody know of a good website to stream newly released series online ?
@Yusuf Noah flixportal :D
@Dash Felipe thanks, I signed up and it seems to work :D I really appreciate it !!
@Yusuf Noah Happy to help xD

Man this one looks like it as a very good suction you can hear the fan! Nice.
I was surprised how much it picked up, 🤯
nice. i wish irobot would send me that 960, because i would really like to do a review on it, so im ready!
Keep doing Vacuum reviews and someday iRobot may get in touch with you 😁
1:21 LOL The 960 hit the S9 and it woke up!

Do you know if the roomba 960 can clean specific places, like if I want it to only clean my kitchen will it work?
Sorry the 960 can't perform that task. The mapping static meaning it not interactive by the user.
Is there a self-emptying base for the 960? I keep searching and can’t seem to figure it out. That’s the number one thing I wish was different with my 960.
No unfortunately the 960 doesn’t have a self emptying system. The i3 and up are the models that iRobot offer self emptying system.

@@RobotMasters awesome!! Thank you so much and thank you so much for responding!! You’ve been incredibly helpful!
Did the battery suffice for your house?
Yes the battery can cover my entire house, also the robot has the ability to return and charge up. Than continue cleaning where it left off
@@RobotMasters Ok thank you ;)
Nice gift Nathan: the 960 is a good value for 550. Im sure it performs as well as the i7.
I haven’t done an official pickup test but I will see which one picks up More 👍🏻 as a comparison
PS yes iRobot was nice enough to send it to me 😀, and I think the value really good.
960 is my favorite Roomba :D
It a good little cleaner, heard a lot great things about the 960.
And do you think you will make all your robots do the flour thing
I have not decided yet, I might do a small flour challenge
Can this use mapping for an upstairs and downstairs?
Yes, because it creates a new map each time.
Another great video! I know this bot is a bit old now, but would you consider doing a video on the Samsung Powerbot R9350? I can't find any really detailed videos on this bot, thanks!
Thanks I will try to contact Samsung to see if they can send me a review unit

It was the first cleaning run, the 960 creates a new map each time. I still have the Shark, waiting November update.

Hi if you have the i3+ and the i8+ can you do a hole house cleaning with the i7+ s9+ i3+ and the i8+ it’s fine if one robot needs to be recharged you can show the other robots.
Does this allow you to select which room to clean?
The 960 does not have room select, only on the Roomba i7, s9 or Braava m6
Can you do the same with the e5 please
Ok I will
@@RobotMasters thank you
Hi, this is unrelated but at 4:00, what kind of tracked robot is that? Thanks
It a toy version of the iRobot 710 Kobra Bomb Disposal robot. It made by New Bright.
I want a camera robot to map my floor plan for the upstairs rooms
Tear ups whow no 💣 explosion Sad day 😂
Nice hair cut 👍
LOL thanks, had it mostly shaved OFF 😁
QVC has 960 for $399.96, looks like irobot is dumping supply of 960
Interesting, maybe a new robot coming out 🤔
Or they are throwing everything have behind i series. Why would anyone buy a vacumm with resume/recharge that can't empty its bin. My guess price drop coming for i series soon. Shark has shaken irobot up
with all those vacuums you must have the cleanest floors on earth.
LoL 😆
Did I miss the bit where you explain what this robot lacks as compared to the i7?

Run 960 and e5 head to head
Ok I will do a pickup head to head challenge
Did u ask Samsung for the power bot
I will call them Monday, and also email them
Robot Masters ok
I’m starting thinking my i7 is a defective unit. It certainly not behave as smart like this one.
