Nodirbek deserves a lot of credit for never giving up! Gukesh play well but he fell on his own sword.
Dude if we don't consider the blunder..Gukesh was high chances to win.
@@pranav3813 you must consider the blunder always.
@@pranav3813 If you’re talking about Nf3 at the end then no, Gukesh did not have high chances to win the game. Gukesh was losing on time and position, and he would have most likely lost the game anyway.
Why you gotta post spoilers? I watch the videos before knowing who won, and when RUclips displays your comment, I enjoy the video way less. @agadmator can you please silence comments that post spoilers?
@@pranav3813 Wrong. Not at the end... even BEFORE the blunder it was -3 / -4 depending on the engine you look at. The black h pawn would have been very difficult to stop...
Was watching that live, Gukesh didn't even resign, he just sat there heart broken and the time ran out. 💔 Well played Champ
did they even shake hands?
@@danielb4560 they did
@@danielb4560 I saw their shaking legs but not hands🤣
Gukesh completely outplayed nodi .. wow !!! GUKESH is CHAMP for sure
To be fair, he's not a champ yet lol
I hope these two might feature in future candidates matches.
You have to win to feature
They will
Gukesh just won the candidates
Learning experiences like this will help Gukesh become even better in future. We are all proud as Indians that he steamrolled the comp the way he did, whatever the final round brings. Congrats to Abdusattarov, Uzbekistan are worthy favourites to win the Olympiad.
The loss was so heartbreaking. But Gukesh is 16. This loss will only make him stronger in the long run. Best wishes for the Uzbek team. Would not be surprised if this is the pairing for world Chess Championship in a few years.
@@BrsTom ikr
Oh get over it. Spoiler alerts are like trigger warnings: pointless mollycoddling for people who should have the emotional maturity to handle the fact that some things aren’t in their control.
Well this ruined the video and no point to watch now
@@deanmcintyre4334 the game itself is intense enough. I'd suggest watching it anyways. It's like watching a WW2 movie, we all know Germany lost but it's still a thrill to watch the movie about it.
@@brianjones9780 Excellent analogy.
Abdusattorov has nerves of steel. That was a truly great escape.
Even though I'm heartbroken by my man's loss. I love nodirbek's style of playing so much and congratulations to him defeating the undefeated lord gukesh.
There is no sadder story than the chess battle of Gukesh and Abdusattarov”
William Shakespeare
😭
Why does Google say "translate to English" only to change "of" to "between"😂
@@GoodKnightChess Because ‘between’ is the more correct preposition for subject-verb agreement in this sentence. ‘Of’ is used in relationships - 1 of 2, for example - rather than the type of negative relationship implied by a rivalry. That’s one of the reasons why it is more correct to say, in a positive context, ‘They’ve a good working relationship *with* each other’ OR ‘The relationship between them is good’. So, as an alternative, one could instead say that, ‘There is no sadder story than Gukesh and Abdusattarov’s chess battle *with* each other.’
Why sadder !! somebody press for an end game win ( time and again in positions ) with a 'world number one rapid player, and you pay the price. you could have walked out with a draw.. Chess is not that simple that you kid have conquered it by winning few games on a trott. tomorrow he loses too, as the mind will play now, rather your winning dream
William Chesspeare
This game is like a Wild West duel: "both could have drawn, but one was just faster"
Nodirbek is a real ChessWarrior!!!
Is it just me or have the games suddenly become more exciting since we’ve had the hat? 🤠
So after this game _Gukesh D._ dropped to 2892 Rp in this tournament and is second in this statistic just behind _David Howell_ with 2898. Only 5 players remained with Rp above 2800 ( _Nodirbek_ _Abdusattorov_ and _Anish Giri_ 2815, _Magnus Carlsen_ 2803)
And as most of the top 5 teams played against each other in previous rounds the last round will be very specific and interesting. I wonder if there is a law that prohibits the pairing of Indian teams in this tournament as *India* and *India 2* are the only teams in the top 5 so far that haven't played against each other. Here are the pairings with accumulated points in the tournament so far:
*Germany* (15) vs *India 2* (16)
*Armenia* (17) vs *Spain* (15)
*Uzbekistan* (17) vs *Netherlands* (15)
*India* (16) vs *USA* (16)
*Moldova* (15) vs *England* (15)
*Azerbaijan* (14) vs *Serbia* (15)
Teams with 16 and 17 points so far all have a high chance to win the whole tournament, teams with 15 points probably too, but it's closer to zero.
Also, as a slovak fan it's funny to see that we did not evade the rivalry with our fellow neighbour *Czech Republic* in the last round. It's gonna be interesting :)
Yes, there is a rule that prohibits matching teams from same country in the last 2 rounds to prevent match fixing
Why indian has two teams..?
@@Ok....- They had three in fact.
It probably had something to do with organizing country... As it was played in India
@@Ok....- as the other comment points out, there are in fact 3 indian teams.. the organizing country gets to have 2 teams, but since the total number of teams was uneven, they added a 3rd team to balance it out. kinda dumb but thats FIDE for you.
@@mwheezee ok
Chess has a bright future with these kids. Absolutely outstanding Olympiad. Very happy it wasn't a drawfest as everyone was pushing for a win.
Nodirbek is brilliant. He deserves a victory! Really fantastic game his opponent is strong too but he didn't find a way to make him up .
Yes gukesh was winning totally nut nodirbek didnt give him a clear vision for victory and at last manage to even turn the tables as gukesh was pushing for win
That announcement at the end turned the match from a trench war standstill into a vicious knife fight. What a rush it is to see both players going only for the win. Maybe it'd be a neat idea to have a league where a drawn position counts as a loss to both players? Then we'd see way more chess played like this, fighting to the death!
Chess made today, like maths tables, remembering almost the first 30 moves, 100's of patterns.. so a win is a real hard component when both players prepare hard - lets not penalize draws please
@Jack FitzGerald a system exactly like that already exists in some chess tournaments
If u think a draw is easy to get...i think you've never played any tournament match
@@frozengreenland but winning is surely difficult.
In the future we will wait more success from Nodirbek 💪👍👍👍
Both players knew that Gukesh was completely winning but Abdusattorov decided to never resign and fight to the end.
Great mentality by him.
I will never resign a game again😅
Bad conclusion.
If you see checkmate against you, please don't wait until your time is over. You can resign at that moment 😁
Yes don't resign until u are checkmated...
Gukesh actually felt the taste of being in the top. Like anish giri told earlier. When u play with the top players in the world, its going to be very tough. And Nodirbek already beaten Carlsen and Nepo and Fabi.
Nevertheless gukesh gave a tough fight. Hope he bounce back tomorrow.
Clearly mistake kia yar, ek to BC ye chessbase wale ki haay haay lag gyi usey 😭
Nordibek gave a tough fight, Gukesh just failed to convert a winning position but throughout the game he had an advantage.
@@nation2885 nobody will give u easy win when everything at stakes

If you want an example. See Game 6 of the world championship match. Magnus pushed for more than 8hrs.
Exactly. That is why Magnus is so unbelievable. He stays on top like he belongs there.
Well done Nodirbek, I am your fan 👏 👍 !
Everyone talking about Gukesh, but savage Abdusattorov came in and won for his team.
What a game! I love that nerves played a big part in this game. It’s what makes humans playing chess so special

What a game, two RAIsing stars confronting! Gukesh had the victory in his hand but Abdusattorov never lost hopes and played with resilience! Bravo to both of them and to Antonio for providing this jewels.
They aren't raising stars yet. Only rising stars at the moment.
@@hhgygy Grammer Police Alert!!! Please ignore
@@nileshsharma9489 Why? Grammar is important for clarity of understanding. If it’s spelling, you’d perhaps have a point, but calling someone a “grammar nazi” or “grammar police” is not only puerile, it’s also a thought-terminating cliché (therefore a logical fallacy). Instead of seeing the comment as hostile, perhaps you - and others like you - might instead see it as a softly-softly approach to teaching better English, especially if that commentator happens to be a native speaker of English, hmm?
@@hhgygy well, the verb to raise has the same meaning, "raising" is correct maybe with a slightly different meaning.
@@feliscorax In case you didn't notice, it was a "spelling" or rather "typing" error. The original writer edited it as well. Anyway, enough time spent on this. Ciao

Outstanding game between two new superstars! Thanks for the great coverage, Antonio! 👍

@@mothudimothudi2946 50/50 ? Gukesh played too passively once he got winning position and blundred. Nodirbek played well but he was outplayed here. And Nodirbek is a rapid champ for a reason, he was blitzing his moves while Gukesh struggled. Lot to learn for both of them

Wow what a game. One of the best I have ever seen.
Gukesh's style will easily make him no.2 one day. He has both defence and attack. Temperament will probably deny him no.1. but I wish he overcomes and becomes no.1
In this position we paused to realize this is a future WC match up. #Agadmatorforlivecommetary
GM Gukesh did not resign. He lost on time. When he realized that he just blundered the knight away, he just let his time ran out.
Let this be the begining of a great rivalry.....

Thank you very much! Very interesting!
beast of a tourney for Gukesh has been so fun to watch new fan here
the new era has started both abdusatove and gukesh have a bright future
The new era will be alireza vs praggnanandhaa
The most annoying losses in chess are when you know your position was better the entire game, but you just couldn't convert it into a win because you have spent too much time to build it up and missed easy wins because you were low on the clock
Really nice analysis! Really loved watching it.
Actually if I am not mistaken he then lost on time, he was so in shock that he even didn't have the strength to resign...
Fantastic commentary !
Love Ur work
I was watching both Prag and Gukesh's game simultaneously. The engine was indicating +4 for Gukesh and +1.8 for Prag. However Prag's game suddenly became +10 and then i saw Gukesh's game gradually decline to 0 and it remained equal for sometime. When Prag was absolutely winning, Gukesh probably became distracted and blundered away his piece and the game. This is what happens when people keep constantly watching the next board and lose focus on their own board.
Actually gukesh , didnt watch pragg game at all , he sat in the seat the whole time . This actually caused this loss , as after praggs win , gukesh still declined a threefold reputation , as he didnt care about the other games
Its not just about the engine eval but the dynamics of the position as well. Abdusattarov did well to keep it complex enough for Gukesh to not see a clear winning line.
Gukesh made a signal mistake of thinking he has to absolutely win that game to save the team. In fact if he had taken a moment to get up and observe the other boards he'd have known a draw was sufficient in his game, and would have continued cautiously.
Abdussatorov has the champion mentality, that's why he won
That mentality certainly was the reason for him to keep fighting on even in worse position. A world rapid championship is no joke.
How fast. Game just ended now and you posted a video.
It shows the pressure gets to the best of them.
This loss will make Gukesh even stronger in the future. Great guys, both of them!
Im really a big fan of your channel thank you for effort and Im really Learning alot from you!!! As well my next goal is master the game
The storm is coming!!! What an opening and middle game by Gukesh, really brilliant. But more important thing, which is going to endgame and handling, is a masterpiece by Nodirbek!! Congratulations to chess community for such a match!!
Absolutely heart-breaking. :(
Meanwhile Prag will silently surpass them all.
thank you for your work, i also like the questions to the viewers about what move to make, to be honest its a little hard, maybe you can give a small hint after a few seconds
Wow what a long endgame. Nice!
Finally you made the microphone work nicely
Gukesh never resigned.!!! He lost on time. After he blundered the knight. He just bowed down his head until his time ran out. 😭
Thank you!
Excellent analysis
Nodirbek fought hard under extreme time pressure. Kudos to Gukesh...
8:14 Thanks for explaining that. I needed to think one move further down that line to realise that it wouldn't work.
Qh5 !!!. Which calls to mind Capablanca's revelation, "If you have a (sequence of winning moves) winning move, play it, don't complicate chess".
... following this ntense game, I held my breath many times... now, I can breath...oufff!
The missed Qh5 is really calling for the “When you find a good move, look for a better one” quote
ohh yes sound is perfect again, sweet ! :D
Abdusattorov won on account of more experience, anyone else would resign, but he persisted and won! Unbelievable, like his style, man!
and it was in the fetal position that time ran out. Head up G you are amazing
I’ve watched many of the games from the Olympiad, and this one was titanic!
Gukesh drifted into an endgame with his pawns on queenside and black pawns on kingside Q+N versus Q+B, and not enough support points for the knight as pawns fall. Because the bishop can play on both sides of the board, and the knight cannot, this is extremely difficult to hold. Shame Gukesh did not find Qh5.
Great sound!
Abdusattorov malades
Could be a future rivalry brewing
Wow Gukesh outplayed Abdusattorov Nodirbek clearly during the classical portion of the game and taught some hard lessons to him.......just because Gukesh was waiting for Pragg game to finish ( took a long 77 moves credit to Ujbek player for wasting time on purpose in a lost position by roaming here and there just giving more time for Abdusattorov Nodirbek to survive against Gukesh ) he didn't go for all out in the beginning itself and played some waiting moves which costed him time to just maintain the position. Overall a very dominating moral victory for Gukesh. Don't know why but it looked like Gukesh won irrespective of the result. Bravo Gukesh !
Was a great game. I am sure Gukesh will look back and be disappointed but the pressure was immense.
Gukesh had mate in 1, was low in time, and maybe just hoped the opponent wouldn't see the fork. If only his queen was closer
Hope he shakes hand the next time he loses. Talk about sportsmanship.
