This a small error but I noticed that at 2:35 you highlighted the wrong video, the "Best CPUs of 2024" is to the right of the one that was highlighted. Anyway, thanks for you all of your hard work on reviews this year!
It's nice that you evaluate cases on a case-by-case basis. Really, this is the best case scenario for case reviews. I already have a great case myself, but I'll still watch this - just in case.
One has to ask what have you been watching to have this page land on your viewing list? Come to think of it why the heck did it land on my viewing list ???
I probably found the channel while watching Hardware Canucks. Their testing was not as intense but it was still one of the better case channels before GN's ascension and push for more functional cases.
If you want an antec flux pro this is what I did. It was sold out or delivering mid January do I kept checking back every couple hours and I thought it was a fluke but it was in stock and I ordered it so fast. I got it two days ago but haven't had the time to switch. Tom I'll do it. My son has been super sick so yea pc stuff gets the back burner.
Mini ITX isn't a good grouping though. Do think of 20 liter cases? 15 liter? 10-8 liter? Or 5 liter ones? Do they even fit a GPU? I personally prefer sleek, console looking cases to the boxy _technically_ mITX cases that can fit a 4090, but they are not much smaller then a small ATX case, but come with all the drawbacks of mITX cases. But most cases that come out today are of the box variety.
I feel like Mini-ITX has been gradually left behind by the evolution of Raspberry Pi, Mini-STX builds as the Pi's prices increased, and now Mini PCs. Mini-ITX had more appeal back when Shuttle PC was in the conversation. With the size of modern GPUs, it seems more sensible to go no smaller than MicroATX or forego discrete graphics and get a Mini PC. IMO, of course. I know there are always people who want the most power in the smallest space and are willing to deal with challenges, but most of them are probably RUclipsr tech channels.
Just picked up an Antec Flux Pro for a build update, and am super excited for it. Antec really impressed me with both of their offerings this year, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do next!
Hey this was a perfect video for me right now! Currently looking to migrate my PC to a new case very soon. I’m tired of my 011D taking up 1/3 of my desk.
If room space allows for it, consider moving it onto a separate standing shelf. Monitor cables work just fine for a couple meters even at 4K moderate refresh rate, and so does USB. This gives back a lot of table space, lets you keep a big case, and makes the system "quieter" too.
I was hoping they'd have reviewed the APNX C1 this year. Maybe not the cream of the crop but still a very good case and it had great sales during Amazon Prime Days this summer and 2 of the 3 colors have remained at good prices since then. Metal case, with very good mesh behind that. It comes included with 3x 140mm fans and 1x 120mm fan, all 30mm thick (86.9 cfm airflow on each of the 140mm fans). The white and black versions remained $99.00 since Prime day, and was $79 on Prime day. The chromaflair color has returned to $169.90 though since Prime day... I was happy with the black. It supports up to 11 fans (3 front, 3 side, 3 top, 1 rear, and1 aimed at the rear of the motherboard/backplate). Further I was able to juryrig two additional fans onto the bottom, on top of the psu shroud. Why? Because my state gets very hot.
Seeing this video makes me want to re-buy a North. An accident involving my system dropping 4 feet onto cement bent my original North case completely sideways. I still miss it
I was wondering if you have blacklisted NZXT cases? I have a H9Flow case and I love it. Just curious because I saw no NZXT cases in your comparison charts.
I ended up buying a non-Pro Flux, as the construction looks very similar to the Pro, but it’s cheaper and more readily available here in Europe, plus I prefer the midi-tower size.
I'm getting ready for a PC upgrade and I've got a flux pro sat in it's packaging behind my bed just waiting to be used, glad it did so well on this list :p
The fractal North is the first case i bought over 120 euros for the past 35 years and i havent regretted it one bit (no pun intended ) . Looks classy and delivers good thermals . Im happy . :)
Bought myself a Fractal Design Torrent last week based of your older reviews. Absolutely love it, so silent, amazing temps. Lighting looks good and cable management was amazing due to the top mounted PSU
Yeah iirc Torrent is still THE best case in the market, this list is for "Best case released this year only" so it doesn't change anything, quite a number of older cases still outperform new ones at least in-terms of airflow.
@@FeralFlare it's stated at 2:33 that this video is for every case available on the market, not just ones released in 2024, and the torrent is outperformed in many of the thermal benchmarks
With all those cases, Im gonna think y'all are case experts. As such, as a woodworker, I have this idea of building a case into the desk design, hiding the PC part. Would you guys be interested in making a video about dos/donts and suggestions for PC-component holding design and key principles? For instance, instead of computer intake fans, thinking of using a larger, quieter room fan. Stuff like that you could break the mould with when building completely custom.
As somebody who builds customs, I can attest for the Fractal North. The included fans are amazing, the build quality and customization is superb, it looks great
I want to love the Lancool 207, because the thermal performance at that price seems unbeatable; but I learned years ago that I just don't have it in me to deal with a cramped space for cable management.
Perfect.. I am literally looking for a new case at the moment.. Could not decide with all the different offerings.. This video along with the review videos for both cases will make it easier to decide.. It's either the Antec Flux or the Lian Li 207.. Thanks. Keep up the great work. 😊
we did a rebuild in the lancool 207, after one month light layer of dust already, but it's huge improvement (thermals and noise) from our previous case of 10yrs+, Thermaltake v9
I just started watching the video... I hope the H6 Flow is included in this list. Very good thermals, somewhat fairly priced, dual chamber, decent atx size
I've had mine now for almost a year and I love it overall, but I found my thermals improved by disabling the top 120mm fan on the front and the top-mounted 120mm fan closest to the front. I was exhausting cool air before it could reach the components.
I wish Fractal would have made an mITX version of the North. I wanted a Torrent Nano but they became impossible to find around the time I was shopping so I went with a Terra, which I do like, but I'd prefer something with a bit more air cooling performance.
I feel like mATX has become even more niche since people started moving to NVMe storage, I guess? So it's ITX if you need size, and ATX if you need stuff, and for mATX you don't need much of anything so nobody really caters to this niche because anything goes for most there.
I got the North XL while doing the first full update of my desktop since before COVID after seeing your review. I've been super satisfied with it and happy to see I really got a good one.
Lancool 207 is such a great performing case. Thank you Lian Li for not increasing the price after good reviews like what happened with the Lancool 215.
Would be cool if you did best mITX and mATX case categories, though I do understand once you get into the SFF space, the categories can get pretty niche and specific.
It's nice to see Antec coming back around. They were the case brand I went with for my first real major gaming build back in the late 2000s, and honestly, that case is still better than half the crap churned out today. I would be curious to see a Phanteks Enthoo Elite review from this channel. I don't believe you guys ever did it, and I'd love to see how it holds up with the current methodology.
I bought Fractal North XL mesh version last month following your reviews and couldn't be happier. Really good temperatures, elegant design. Real improvement over NZXT H510.
I got the fractal torrent thanks to one of your old reviews. It was alright to build in as my first self built pc. Your videos have been very helpful to give me confidence to build it myself.
I built a new 12900kf system with the Fractal Pop XL (the first new build that I've done in 4 years). Not only is this case amazing with detachable trays for my hard drive and sata ssd's. It is one of the few cases left that has a optical drive slot (bottom front behind the door panel). There's actually a little tray behind that door, but it can be removed and it fits an optical drive perfectly. My current system is a 12700kf, but in its small case sometimes the video card shuts down because of heat. The Fractal XL is very well ventilated. It only cost about $120 from New Egg.
Considering my last build is going on two decades in the past, this shouldn't mean much. But I just wrapped up a BTF build in an Antec C5 and I was blown away. Other than the pain the ass caused by short cable runs and standard length cables, this thing is solid for $105. The only thing to note, and again my last build had a CPU cooler, 3" gpu, and rear exh fan, is when running Cinebench the only thing in the house that's louder is the vacuum. But when gaming at 4k60 its no worse than a box fan on low if that.
LOL I literally looked up best cases of 2024 today as I was planning to get a new one so this video comes in the absolute most perfect timing, Thanks Steve and Gamers Nexus Team!
I just built my PC in the Lian Li 207. I really like it. It's not the best, but it's great for the price. Dust filters all around are perfect for my desert environment. (Except the very bottom of the back where they forgot the mesh?) Sure I wanted a larger cooler looking case, but this one fit my budget and I have zero regrets. Edit: Antec C8 was my 2nd choice, or 1st choice should I have a higher budget. Dang. You guys are boss.
My Lian Li 207 is just waiting for 9800x3d to come in and plug in with 360 AIO. Glad that after watching about 20 case reviews I picked 207. Install was easy and cable management is great.
Built my first PC at the start of the year in the normal-sized North, and while I'm glad I got this case... I feel like it was a mistake to go for the mesh side panel. I did not consider the effects of having a small room, and a cat and a dog who both shed like crazy. Welp. Still well worth it!
I'll be building in a case I've never heard of before in a day or two. Zalman P1 Plus Mid Tower. My father is upgrading, but needs a 5 & 1/4" bay for his CD-Drive. I wasn't sure they still made cases like that honestly. Looks like a great case for his needs though.
The best investment you can make in a PC build is your case. My main tower is a Caselabs Merlin ST10, which cost over $300, but every feature that made it the best case in the industry 12 years ago applies equally today, every time I open it up to swap components I thank my lucky stars that I have the best PC case ever made.
Hey Steve, what do you think about the Antec C7? You ignored it at Computex. I really like the design of the bottom chamber, and other reviewers said it has great build quality for the price.
Would love to see an additional category for mATX and ITX cases in the future. Doesn’t have to be an entire video dedicated to it, maybe just another segment in this one. Awesome video, and I hope you keep the good work! I always appreciate how much effort you guys put into your videos! Whenever I’m looking at computer products to potentially buy; I always check out your channel for all the info that others skip out on!
I would love to see a case review of the Tower 300. I bought one about 6 months ago, and I have had really good thermals with it. I would love to see how it stacks up in the lab against other more traditional-style cases.
I bought the Fractal Pop Air with glass and black fans for $49, using a SAMA 240mm AIO $39 on my 7700x / B650 in this case, video card is Sparkle Titan A770 16GB, fit great!
Not so patiently waiting for the g400a to be released and reviewed. I been waiting in that case specifically to start building my first rig. Worst come to worst, I just get a North XL, they're so beautiful
Amazing!! I know they do a standard fan test with 2 fans, but it would be cool to see them do a test where they filled all the fan slots with noctua fans for optimal cooling. I wonder if that would make the Lian Li O11 the king. Also if it’s not too much to ask, could you also do some thermaltake reviews? 🙏🙏🙏
I'm so happy to see you guys get back into cases this year! And I'm even more happy to see that case-design and improvement hasn't stagnated over the last couple years. I personally would have loved to see more honorable mentions, particularly considering price as price seems to fluctuate quite often.
Woah have you read my mind with the timing of this upload? I have been out of the PC market for YEARS since buying a laptop (back in covid times I tossed up between a laptop or PC for uni and only had money for one, so I went with a laptop and it was definitely the correct decision). After buying my laptop I decided to stop looking at PC's because I'd feel guilty not getting one. Well for some reason an hour ago a random thought popped into my head - are PC's cheaper now? Which then lead me to look at cases, which lead me back to your amazing channel. I was searching up on your website the best cases of 2024 and was reading the fractal north review on your site. Opened up your youtube channel and of course you make this video the one time in 4 years I have looked at PC parts. Thanks for uploading this video at the perfect time for me Steve :)
Super cool. Just wanted to shout out the AVR-sized HTPC cases from silverstone. I have a 4090 and 5800x3d in mine, and it fits sideways in my media shelves.
One thing that'd be great to add is a best watercooling case, one that allows a wide variety of customization coupled with options for good aesthetics and thermals. As cool as the Fractal North is, it isn't very useful for those of us that want to utilize custom loops. I didn't see many on this list to be honest that could
I decided on an antec flux pro because of your review on it and being tired of working in mid tower or smaller cases. I also like the look of it(aside from the glass panel - never liked that), reminding me of an old sound system speaker.
You'd be better off getting the Antec C8 non RGB and spending the savings on far better FDB airflow oriented fans. That 95 Pro is easily beaten by other cases in this video for GPU thermals, CPU thermals, and noise levels.
The only downside I see with the Fractal North XL is that it seems to be noisier than the other top performers. 45 dB is by no means loud, but I heard that the wood in the front makes the fans spin faster or at least gives it a louder tone in use.
Really thinking I'll end up doing a North XL build next year, love the look and feel like it's gonna be a timeless case that will hold up for years. This just makes me want to even more.
I'm 39 years old, started building pc's around the turn of the millenia. Through the entirety of many generations of hardware. I've had something like 4 cases lol. Maybe 5.
Bought my first PC in '93 and I'm on my 3rd case and I've decided that my Define R5 is good enough for my new build this month. I might mod it slightly for a bit more airflow though.
Same age. I think I was 15 when I bought my 1st no name Acrylic case with CCFL tubes in it. Then I switched to the OG Antec 1200 v1. Currently Using the Thermaltake WP200 (W200 + P200) and my next case will be the Lian-Li O11 Dynamic Evo XL. Before I built my own PC's I owned 2 Compaq Presario desktop. 1 with an Intel Pentium I 166MHz CPU and the other with a Pentium III 500MHz CPU.

Thoughts on Lian Li Compact with mesh top?

TONS of good cases this year! Can't wait to get even more through testing.
@@GamersNexus Looking forward to the Videos!
4:40 The fractal north looks good even if you use the top as the front lol
With all the fan configurations on the XL it may even work
Took me a moment to realize they were toppled. Was like - wait, do they come with a metal front too?!
Very happy with my Fractal North. When I saw it I had to make it my next build, and the airflow/performance is an added bonus.

Hey @GamersNexus, you did an ad for Thermaltake’s Tower 600 a bit ago. Are you going to do a review of that case?

I feel like mATX has become even more niche since people started moving to NVMe storage, I guess? So it's ITX if you need size, and ATX if you need stuff, and for mATX you don't need much of anything so nobody really caters to this niche because anything goes for most there.

If it’s not on GN’s best case list, I don’t even consider it! You guys set the standard for case reviews.
HAHHAHA, I am almost hearing a touch of Marty McFly nervous vocal tone in Steve's denial whilst acknowledging the case accumulation problem.
My last pc upgrage I got the Fractal Torrent based largely on your videos. Also the dice are really nice I just got mine in today.
Wow... I was thinking about getting a new case for my coming 7800x3d build. Great timing!
3:47 Did you mean to say "for the XL" ?
LOL I literally looked up best cases of 2024 today as I was planning to get a new one so this video comes in the absolute most perfect timing, Thanks Steve and Gamers Nexus Team!
just bought a Corsair 5000D Airflow to replace my Thermaltake Core X9, mere hours before this video dropped. THANKS, STEVE
In terms of thermal performance would the Flux Pro or 207 be a good upgrade from the Phanteks P500A or nah?
Oh hey perfect, I was looking at cases recently. Nice timing.
I changed my main system from a 4000D to the NZXT H9 Flow, and both are great cases but the H9 is an amazing case
I wait for this every time. You speak on them I listen!
Really appreciate your effort...building a new PC after many years
Got h7 flow, it's amazing case
Thanks Steve! Just as I'm shopping around online for a new case
Was looking for a new case for a secondary/nas/server computer. Best case turned out to be a Define R5. So I got a second one. Very happy with this.
Gaming CPUs are at their best right now.
Lots of competition and advancement in cases.
Many good options for monitors.
Gaming GPUs... yeah.
Montech king 95 pro takes it for me, 6 fans for $150 and a great spacious case to build in which looks gorgeous.
You'd be better off getting the Antec C8 non RGB and spending the savings on far better FDB airflow oriented fans. That 95 Pro is easily beaten by other cases in this video for GPU thermals, CPU thermals, and noise levels.
Saw a Fractal Pop mid tower for $60 which is an incredible deal.
I got a lian li o11 d-evo rgb and am exceptionally pleased. I understand the dual chamber hype. 10 lian li fans keeps my temps very chilly
thanks man was looking to change case my 12 year old case and was scrolling through your videos xD
good timing
The only downside I see with the Fractal North XL is that it seems to be noisier than the other top performers. 45 dB is by no means loud, but I heard that the wood in the front makes the fans spin faster or at least gives it a louder tone in use.
Still love my Fractal Torrent. It’s not a looker, but it’s perfect for my setup. Basic black, good airflow. Wide enough for a 4090
Does anyone have any experience with NZXT h5/h7 flow 2024 version?
the torrent is just my champion
The Torrent is GOATed for sure.
It’s really hard to think about ever having to change cases after the torrent. But I thought that about my define r5 and meshify c…
Really thinking I'll end up doing a North XL build next year, love the look and feel like it's gonna be a timeless case that will hold up for years. This just makes me want to even more.
Got a Define 7 years ago, and it still feels perfectly modern. Fractal's quality materials and minimilastic styling do make them resistant to aging.
Got the havn hs420, it's a super nice case! Looking forward to that video on CPU coolers!
Just in time to help plan my little cousins first PC build!
so is it Case Herding, or Case Hoarding... 😂
Herding cases sounds like an interesting job.
Wait. That's my job.
I still love my Lian LI Lancool II Mesh. Although a bit outdated, it still keeps my 9800x3D/4070Ti Super combo nice and cool.
Wonder how much years will past before I even consider buying a 9800x3d with 4070ti or 7900xtx
I still love my fractal torrent and meshify 2
Would there be any chance to include some sort of dust testing, for testing how easily dust gets in and stays in?
I'm 39 years old, started building pc's around the turn of the millenia. Through the entirety of many generations of hardware.
I've had something like 4 cases lol. Maybe 5.
Ha, that's awesome. What were your first ones?
Very similar story to me. I'm still using my original case, CoolerMaster Ammo 533.
