    Very cool and good job!!! I'm an old Detroit Diesel fan and have had a couple of pickups with 4-53 engines. I currently have a GMC with with a 4-53N and twin sticks. I love to drive them old two strokes! Thanks for the video!

    Did you make those headers? Did you notice much power increase from the stock exhaust manifolds? Your MPG is amazing!

    • @Wingnut353
      @Wingnut353 4 года назад +3

      mpg is normal for that engine, gearing and vehicle... its a diesel, idling this engine would waste a decent amount of fuel since it has fixed injectors but they are efficient enough under load.

    Detroit diesel imop is the best sounding diesel ever made. that and the 6.0 powerstroke. Question is how do you locate these things. This would fit perfect in a modern shit diesel motor swap.

      Nate Figueroa totally agree but I prefer the 7.3 powerstroke. That and the IH DT466

      @@cripto626 You can get adapters to just abuot anything, industrial 353s hae SAE mounts, the military gama goat aluminum block has 4 bolt muncie gearbox mounts, regardless you can bolt it up to about anything you want with existing adapters and a little bit of searching online 4btswaps has alot of people that have done swaps with detroits and a lot of good info there.

    I would of never guessed a three cylinder detroit would sound that good. I would want to do a complete rebuild and add turbo larger injectors and fuel pump mods just to see how much more it would perform.
    When one starts thinking 'I need to do this and I need that' is when the money starts leaving the wallet...
    When the mind starts thinking about those possibilities with a project... Well, that's how hobbies start to get expensive

    • @Romans--bo7br
      @Romans--bo7br 6 лет назад

      HeyDude93gt...... FYI, there are NO "fuel pump mods" that you can do to these... at least Not to the stock pump.

    • @j.mshrader4104
      @j.mshrader4104 5 лет назад

      Dosnt have an injection pump like a mechanical inline international,Perkins,Cummins or Cat. It’s unit-injection. Basically common rail with a fuel pump. There is no high pressure fuel outside of the injector bodies.
