    Enterprise does this all the time! I worked there for 3 1/2 years and they always pull this crap. If they missed damage from a previous rental or it came from another branch they try to pin it on another innocent renter who had nothing to do with it. If you do take the insurance you'll actually doing yourself a favor from bs like this and it actually comes out of the branch because they pay for the repairs 😂 Enterprise is the worst and full of shady assholes that's for sure.

      @@michaelcoutouzis448 if this car gets sent one way anywhere or another branch takes in the vehicle the branch gets charged for "undocumented damage" for repairs, they then try to blame it on an innocent customer so they can file a claim through their insurance to pay for it instead of it coming from the branch...often times they do this so it doesn't hit their branch especially if it's an unsuspecting customer, it's a dirty ploy and shady business move.

      Well it's official. That's what they did. Just got done talking with the manager and after finding some managerial errors, he's saying it's too late and that it's already gone to claims contestation. He said I now have to deal with Enterprise's DRU department and that it's out of his hands.

      @@samatherholt6247 I do not think they will fix a small nick in the alloy wheel. What I have seen is that rental car companies (of course not all) will try to find any small think to be able to collect what ever they could. But then they will not fix it and they could claim the same thing on the next customer. Not all is fixed. If it was so you would always have a rental car that was spotfree. That is never the case if it is not a very very new car.

    • @BradleyBoardwine
      @BradleyBoardwine 5 лет назад

      If small things are caught and people were charged even for a minor wheel scratch, here’s what happens.sure they may collect money for damage done and never fix the car, however; they still collect because once they go to sell the car, the car loses value due to the wheel scratch or little dent. At that point, enterprise fixes the car then sells it, seeing they already collected on the damage. They will collect money for little damage, hold onto it so that way they don’t fix little things until it’s time to sell the car.

    I worked for Enterprise. They will rip you off ANY WAY THAT THEY CAN!!!! You should use your phone and video the walk around when you pick up the car as well as when you return it. I saw a customer bring a car in that had damage from the factory. The car manufacturer had cut the molding incorrectly so when the rear door was opened it bent the molding. First off, they blamed the customer. Second, i saw the report from the body shop they sent it to. The damage was on the driver side. The body shop sent a receipt for all the paint and body work they had just done to the passenger side!!!! Enterprise thrives on hiring kids fresh from college. Kids that they can brainwash. I happened to get the job because i had been a salesman for over 30 years. I was a good salesman because i was ALWAYS HONEST!!!! I had regional managers trying to talk me into lying to customers. I refused. I was fired for refusing to lie to a customer. So be it. I would prefer to keep my ethics than work for that joke of a company!!!!

Their business is making money from exorbitant damage charges that are assessed at multiple times more than the actual damage. So I had the exact same thing happen to me from Enterprise Car Rental. I live in Colorado Springs Colorado which is known to have a lot of hail. On the day I rented my car from Enterprise it had been raining and had hailed 50 miles south of my location 2 hours earlier. Enterprise offers a free delivery to your location as a convenience. I had them meet me at at 5 o’clock at my location which oddly enough was a hail damage repair shop. As I stated it had been hailing 2 hours earlier but was raining when they drop the car off. When the gentleman drop the car off he asked me to look over the car, and said it was a brand new car and there wasn’t any damage. Well as you might expect the car had rain drops / water beads all over the car; when I asked him if he could wipe the car down he explained that he didn’t have a cloth or shammy to wipe off the car, but assured me that the car was brand new and it had no damage. Against my better judgment I calmly thought to myself this is Enterprise, their not going to rip me off! How that would turn into a huge mistake later. My truck was fixed within 48 hours. I was in the process of moving from Colorado to Alaska and so I had the car parked in the garage the entire time other than to drive it from the rental agency to home, which was a total of 20 miles. A few days later I got a call from the body shop informing me my truck was ready. I went down to the car rental agency and return the car, with a full tank of gas and only 40 miles on it from when it had originally been rented to me when he was dropped off. Now mind you, the car sat in a garage the entire time because I was in the process of moving. When I took the rental car back to Enterprise I was greeted by an agent who proceeded to check the car and “magically found 4 to 5 pea sized hail damage. Two on the hood two on the roof and one on the trunk. You can see where this is going. So to say the least when he started pointing out all the hail damage which was a total of five what they called pea size dents, I got extremely upset. Long story short, I fought it through their corporate office, I did my due diligence and looked up a hail report for my area, I was able to look at the size the amount how long it hailed for and at what time it started and when it stopped hailing. Needless to say the store manager was not happy and it kicked me out of his store because I had shown him there was no way this damage was caused by myself. Long story short, you can win the battle but you have to be prepared to do your homework.

    With Enterprise it is becoming widely known that getting insurance money out of people is very much a part of their business strategy as they are looking to sell their vehicles once they reach a pre-determined mileage. They make money renting it out, then again making claims against people insurance, and finally when they sell the used vehicle. I think it is fine that they want to make money, but when they hurt their customers badly, it is not.

      How would they make money off ins companies? They lose money anytime they have to take a vehicle to the shop. I have seen rates at $250 a day. So if they get $500 deductible and take it to the shop to get it repaired, which the shop gets the $500 deductible and any money the claim pays out on goes toward the repair and that is what the shop charges for the repair. The average time for a repair is 7 days so 7x$200 is $1400 so they actually lose money on insurance claims.

    This pisses me off. Rental companies routinely let cars go out without checking them. Recently a popular rental company gave me a car with multiple issues. He didn't notate any of it except he confirmed verbally. Always TAKE PICTURES upon picking up your car. Take like 30 pics and 1 long video as well- get the background and time in the video as well. Also, take a picture of the fuel gauge. Mine was only 1/4 full. I checked the oil in the parking lot- he said we would never let it go without oil- I told him...Really? I am not so sure! The car also was not washed. Very annoying. It also was not the car we reserved. Turns out they don't even stock that vehicle- bait and switch. Luckily they had 3 vehicles available that were all more expensive- one was a BMW! Again, this was at one of the big 3 rental companies. Another tip- get an UBER and rent OFF AIRPORT (even 1 mile away) and you will might save several hundreds over a weeks time.

    Not defending their actions, but it’s the company’s fault for having shitty processes. Likely the branch that this customer picked up from knew she was sending the car away and gave her a damaged unit so they wouldn’t have to eat the cost of it. The branch receiving the car will have to eat the cost unless if they write a claim. Best thing to do as a customer; take your own pictures when you pick the car up, if you’re not cheap, then take the 20/day protection to save the headache. Especially for shorter rentals, it’s worth the peach of mind so you don’t get screwed.

Great thanks Enterprise for filling up the car. Rent the car bring it back and the fucker I got to deal with was nice but took 5 times longer looking for damage I may have caused. Oh and the maintenance required message was on the whole time I had the car. Enterprise scams everyone by telling all customers that they shoulld buy all sorts of unnecessary insurance. Most basic car insurance that people already have covers rental cars. They automatically tell the customer that they should get the full package of insurance when it usually isn't need. As long as the sales person upsells the customer for things they don't need, they get bonuses and promotions. I know. I have a family member who worked for them.

      The problem with that is you need to make REALLY sure that your insurance will cover the car they give you. I have seen people use the insurance from their credit card. Turns out it only covers a car that is a certain weight and length and the one they get was over it so it wasn't covered.

    The damage could have come from the original branch from where the car was rented. Frequently damage is missed by novice agents during check-in, especially hail damage. The car looks fine, so it will likely be rented it out to the next customer (hail damage notations included). Eventually, sooner rather that later, it will probably just be picked up for their car sales department. This is unfortunate... sounds like she didn't purchase the damage waiver.

    Working at enterprise employees miss damage all the time. They do a quick walk around and don't bend over and look at all angles of the car. White is the hardest color to spot damage on. This video angle shows nothing but is also angled above which is an impossible angle to see even small hail damage. And to use your CC coverage you actually need a police report within 24 hours of the damage happening. They will not cover preexisting damage. And the guy did state their policy and technically you would have to dispute it with the office you picked it up from. Everyone thinks that each enterprise store is connected and ran the same and that is false. Each manager runs the store differently.
