Hi Mark! I subscribed to your channel for my 72-year-old dad who can't access youtube to save his life. Haha After suffering from diabetes and a frozen shoulder, he never really wanted to go out. But after watching your videos, he found a renewed interest in travelling. I'm so thankful for your love and light. They resonate through continents and infect anyone they touch. Thank you so much! My Dad's more motivated to undergo his therapies, preparing for a trip to Davao, Philippines next year. ❤️
I love traveling with Mark Wiens. Denmark brings back a flood of memories from decades ago! Same food, same lovely people and traditions, a salty old girl of a town! Thanks to you your friends, and family.
Listen Mark! Me and all of my friends followed your channel since like 100k subs. I am in awe of what you created since then. Through being the humble and authentic, always positive and happy person you are, its a pleasure to watch your vids every time. I could write an essay on how awesome you are. I wish you and all of your family good health, pure happines in life and all the luck the world has to offer. You truly earned it.
I could not believe my eyes when I saw the blue clug clug bottle on your table at lunch for I have one just like it. It really brought back a lot of memories and I thank you for that. What a surprise that was to see the bottle...they still make them after all these years. Oh my!!!!
I love (and miss) Danish food! Thank you for this, lately I miss my time in Denmark. I think a lot of Danish food cannot create the "Mark Wien face" because Danish food generally has subtle flavors. They taste familiar, cosy and "homey". Coming from Asia, I am not mind-blown with the flavors but it hits hard when after a year or two away from Denmark, I think, "Oh I miss that warm leverpostej in Foetex". Yes, even supermarket food tastes good! Then, I try to recreate it here in the Netherlands and buy ryebread, pate and cucumber but it is not the same.
Make you own leverpostej. It is a a mess but you can freeze it before baking and then take out of freezer and bake when you have the urge. Always remember to bake leverpostej in a water-bath. Same mess really, whether you make leverpostej for a week, or a year
The rye-bread is never the same when I travel abroad, Danish rye-bread is really top-notch. Also, Cheese, Danes love cheese ! Fresh rye-bread, with butter, a slice of good cheese, and some jam on top ... YUM !! Damn, now I want some smørrebrød. 😂
Mark really is the nicest guy on RUclips...I’m petrified to fly so I vicariously travel the world with him and love his upbeat attitude towards every new experience and meal!
For your info he is in a long term commited relationship. Yes he has 5 million subscribers and you seem oblivious to the fact he is MARRIED. Your suggestive comments are unwarrented.
John Jones what the hell are you talking about? Saying that he is a nice guy with an upbeat attitude is suggestive? I’ve been happily married to the love of my life for 29 years and am well aware of how many subscribers Mark has and that he is married to the lovely Ying and has a son, Micah. Get a freaking life!
Being from Denmark and living in Copenhagen for 8 years I feel that they went to super tourist-y places that offer very stereotypical and boring plating at a high price. If I was showing Mark Weins around I would show him the classic danish smørrebrød and dishes at home(nobody wants the sloppy salad and bland tomatoes on their fried fish filet anyway), then take him out at reasonably priced restaurants that make modern dishes - the places that the people living in Cph visit on weekends. 3 courses avg. total 50-60 USD and share a bottle of wine on top. There's a reason we have a lot of michelin starred restaurants, and it is not because of smørrebrød.
I wish they went to the smaller butcheries or the bakeries. Or small business owned places. I do enjoy watching this tho, I’m in America and watching this helps satisfy my food cravings a little
There are SO many RUclips videos of Americans and other people trying Danish food. And all they do is eating mexican, Italien, English or asian food served in Denmark. That is not Danish food. So it warms my Danish heart to *FINALLY* see someone eat proper Danish food. Drink Snaps, eat Flæskesteg, Frikadeller, sild and go into the best Dansih restaurants. Thanks for this :) one thing though. Next time you drink snaps you don't "bite it over" as we call which is the term for drinking small sips of it, you drink it in *ONE GO*

You can totally tell Mark isn’t used to/isn’t a fan of all that cream and mayo. His Asian palate wasn’t having it, but he’s as respectful as ever, which is why he’s endlessly watchable for me.
Being one who lives in Copenhagen, he went to those sterile wannabe-oh-so-perosnal places where mainly tourists goes. What a shame...we have so much more to offer
I agree , he was very respectful of the food and the culture, but l do think he would have liked to have experienced good family restaurants and street food. The restaurants they went to were not typical representations of the food. The Market he went to was much more his style where he could sample good clean foods. Someone said he was eating the garnish, there was a marked absence of vegetables and herbs and Mark like raw vegetables and herbs. He tried it all and gave us a great idea of the tastes and textures of the food. I love His videos as he respects all food and cultures.
Wow.. lots of variety of Danish food. Everything looks so delicious. All this while I could only imagine pastries and butter cookies if someone were to ask me about Danish food.
Trivia: First of all congratulation. You went on one of the seven last roller coasters in the world that still has a coaster driver or so called brake man. The person infront of you is using a lever between his legs to apply brakes going into the curves and his job is what makes that ride particulary fun to ride as it can vary on a day to day basis depending on the driver as some of them have a lot more experience and get pretty bold and aggressive and he will respond to the riders excitement, giving more and less speed depending on the riders, if the ride was full of small children then he could make it softer and go slower, if it was full of adrenaline junkie teens he can make it go faster and be more aggressive. Thousand island is normal on a stjerneskud depending on how you get it. That said, I dont think the one in this video looks all that great. I am from norjylland btw. @@AllanJ...Batmo365 it doesn't make financial sense, yes, but you have to look at it as "entertainment", just like if you have a hot date you don't take her to McDonalds.
Some of the reasons why Mark Weins is succeeding whilst other food channels (even 'popular' ones) are stagnating: He does what he does effortlessly AND passionately whilst others appear to (attempt to) put in too much effort and pretence - he doesn't seem to do things/showcase certain foods for the 'money' even though he is effectively earning money from RUclips; Mark's personality - he is different, special, nice, unassuming and nothing-to-hide - he does not need to be bombastic or business-like; though he has his preferences he appreciates all sorts of food and he does his niche of thai/Indochinese food very well (ie he is specialised). Therefore he DOES NOT NEED to 'do' much in order to achieve what some other people try to do.

But the schnitzel he got, I still doesnt get why they showed, because that is NOT danish at all.. We do eat it, but its not that comment, AND its not from Denmark, but from germany :)
Thousand island is normal on a stjerneskud depending on how you get it. That said, I dont think the one in this video looks all that great. I am from norjylland btw. And got stjerneskud in many different ways over here. But you have to go to some of the fishing cities to get the best and most fresh ones from my experience.
Du har aldrig fået et stjerneskud har du vel?
@@jydeinden just gonna add, indeed the schnitzel is not danish, but the topping is. If you go to middle and lower germany, there is no topping at all, but amybe some lemons
😋 yumm yummy!
Yummy! 😋😋😋😋😋😋
lmao I love seeing Mark Wiens struggling to keep an appearance while eating bland nordic food haha
Bland Nordic food !? You ignorant fool.
Buddha B He’s going in too hard a few days in a row. I have Nordic food maybe once a week. I need my weekly Mexican, Indian, Thai, Italian, African etc etc food to not go completely crazy 😂
Yungbeck I mean I like to trash Nordic food but I can’t deny that I’ve acquired a taste for it, my South African partner was shocked to see me jumping for and gobbling down the pickled herring when we visited Amsterdam
Buddha B Yeah there’s some gems for sure!! Like Mark though I’ll always look for spicy first :)
When you said after your danish meal there’s only one thing to do next and i was expecting the next clip to be a cup of coffee not a ride lol I know you’re missing your coffee after a hearty meal like that lol
I agree with your comment above!! If you agree to my comment of your comment do Subscribe & Like my RUclips Channel!! Thank u! ♥️

This is one of the cleanest and most organised cities i have seen on your channel...I like the food its not spicy lol
Copenhagen is clean, sleak, modern and exphensive. And we normally do not kill the flavour for the food with chilli, lime or garlic. :oD
Ying must be enjoying all these trips.
Dear Mark, I find this dish of yours very amazing. I wish to visit this restaurant like you and enjoy this delicious food. I have seen many videos of you in different countries and Try different food. Thank you so much so beautiful . 😋😋😋
Im danish, and I can hardly belief the payed 170$ for those two dishes in tivoli... Even with beers. More lige half that.
OMG....one reason not to go to a Danish restaurant.
Street food👌
Thank you Allan.... I noticed that as well - and thought, I could get about 40+ hotdogs at Harry´s Place in stead of two slaps of bread with way to much on top.
ya'll gotta realize "it's not about the food, it's about the experience"...that is priceless, I could cook anything he eats for $5 or less, but heck we could live under a bridge too
@@andrefecteau i understand quite fine... But still doesent make sence to me.
@@AllanJ...Batmo365 it doesn't make financial sense, yes, but you have to look at it as "entertainment", just like if you have a hot date you don't take her to McDonalds.
Im so dissapointed that Esben didnt show you stegt flæsk yet..
esben is the worst food guide ever
@J S nope
esben was a disappointment
A stop at a hotdog stand would have been nice! :oD
Kenneth Hansen Lmao I didn’t like him at all. Very dry personality. Mark is too fun and chipper for someone like that 😭
Mark seemed to enjoy the roller coaster more than the food
ronz k 😂
