- BIG BASS love LIVE BAIT so today I went and did some pond fishing using a live bluegill and we caught some GIANT bass! It was SO MUCH fun doing some good ol' pond bass fishing with live bait and I will be back soon to catch more giant bass in the pond!

What type of rod do you use for frogging?
@@Mycovers7you want a heavy to Xtra heavy rod depending on the cover, a 8:1 reel so you can allow slack to walk your frog but can catch up to the fish when it hits. Always use braid so there is 0 stretch and it floats which does help a little. Make sure to give a small pause after a bite so they fish can suck the frog in and you won’t pull the frog out of its mouth. I call it a breath pause, you have to train yourself to do it bc we like to jerk right away. 😂. Hope that helps ya JJ
@@Mycovers7I use a Medium Heavy Rod that’s stiff with a 7:4 gear bait cast reel (I use the SLX). Put on 40-50lb braid. I live in the north so I use 40 but down south, you might need 50 or even 60lb braid
Once the fish eats it, pause for a few seconds then set the hook
Live bait is my GO TO! If my day is slow out on the water ill always use bluegill or any other small or medium panfish to catch them monster bass! 🤘🏼
Live bait is the way to go if youre fishing in lakes/ponds that are always crowded with other fishermen. I caught an 8 pounder in under 30 mins once using bluegills I pulled from my bass and bluegill pond.

If you will cut the top spikey fins off the brim/bluegills it makes it way easier for bass or catfish to eat them. Just twke some scissors and trim them off flush, and it doesnt kill the brim when you do it

Man I found a minkotta older one,at a yard sale with battery for $35. Something like that would be perfect for the front of that boat if you get tired of the paddling, just a suggestion I love your content

Look, how calm the second fish was when he weighed it on the scale. The ones I catch would never keep still, they’re not that big either though (my fish).

I watch sone fish for bass snd land big bass on and 2 pound test line.Libe 5 or6 pounders on and 2 pound test line.
I have access to tons of bluegill but can’t get on a bass. Maybe too many bluegill ?

To me fishing for bass with live bait is almost like cheating. I see it as the only reason you fish for bass with live bait is be cause you don't know how to fish for them with artificial. Why do you think bass tournaments do not allow using live bait.
So creative with this take lol people are aloud to have fun. Cut the wanna be tournament angler shit and catch some fish
