Thank you so much for this video. This information was extremely helpful. I just received my spectra and currently have a elvie pump. I use the elvie during the day and spectra at night. I found that my spectra definitely got the milk out pretty good and battery is better than the elvie.
The spectra is really good. I love it but I can't always use it so it's used at night. My elvie is for the day but I find it's ok but sometimes can be better.
The best rating/review I have seen so far. It made my decision a lot easier. Great also the different facts that are mentioned per factor. So I could decide for me which article fits best for my handling respectively my pumping style. Thanks a lot!☺️👏🏼
I use the Medela Sonata and it worse amazing not plugged in the same as plugged in. ITS AMAZING! I have heard people say that with Elvie they got significantly less milk. But i think its nice for if your driving on your way to work and dont have hands.
Hey, great review. You mentioned the Elvie is a single pump and you get 100ml. Is the medela you have single or double? If it’s double, do you get 150ml total? Many thanks
You probably dont care but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost the password. I appreciate any tips you can give me
I’ve been waiting for this one!!! Soooo helpful again with everything else you shared thank you!! Does feel like in an ideal world we would need both for diff occasions that fit into our lifestyle 🤦🏻♀️ I think I’m gonna go with the effective one for the beginning as I’ll get grumpy if I woke up in the middle of the night and not getting the most out of it 😂
I am bf but want to pump to store milk for future or if I am unwell or for what ever reason I need to bottle feed. Also want to up my supply any advice? X
I found my diet was the biggest effect on my supply. Making sure I got in enough good fats and calories (which is why I'm always confused as to why they say you can lose weight BF (or pumping) because you have to eat enough calories to sustain the supply!). Then there was things like mothers milk tea I drank which is hard to say but I do think probably helped, and I added things like Lecithin into my mornings smoothies :)
Has anyone got any suggestions or comments about women who have had a breast augmentation? I feel like there is no information about this on the internet! Are there any differences? Asking for a friend 🙈😳
Carly Neave haha! I’m 33 weeks pregnant and wondering what my milk production will be like. I’m interested to know if they look different afterwards or if they will look like they did before 😬 Maybe I’ll let you know!
Both my plastic surgeon and my OBGYN said the same thing: As long as your breast implants are under the muscle it shouldn’t affect your ability to breastfeed or your supply.
I don’t think that the Medela swing is the right pump to compare with the Elvie, as that Medela is not wireless completely (batteries) you should compare maybe with a chargeable Medela like the free style flex that is rechargeable and you don’t need batteries or to connect to the wall.
Hi Carly I’m thinking of exclusively expressing as having difficulty latching my 3 week old.. so you mind me asking when you started exclusively expressing? and how do you find it?? I’ve been following you since the start of your pregnancy and wanted to know your thoughts please!

Sharon K hi lovely! So I started about 6-7 weeks I think it was? Pumping definitely has its drawbacks - the balance between giving bub the bottle and making sure you pump is difficult at times depending on what help you have and you still need to wake up during the nights! But - for me, because BF was getting stressful, it was the lesser of two “evils” in that sense (although hate to refer to it like that!). I would maybe see how the latch goes as your baby grows a bit of jaw strength and size (this was the advice j was given) and see if that makes a difference and then maybe make a call in a few weeks? The most important thing is there is NO right or wrong! Honestly whatever makes you most stress free is the right thing so go with what feels good for you and your baby xxx

If you’re exclusively pumping I would recommend a stronger one like medela freestyle or spectra s1/s2 .

aww you're welcome! x
Your videos are so thorough and helpful!! I look forward to every Sunday! You have amazing energy!💜
Aww thank you Emily :) Xxx
I thought when you pump. If u pump in morning you give that milk morning time. Vice versa. As night time milk has the sleep hormone in?

Does the Elvie has less suction than Medela? Is that why it cannot pump the milk out?
it does have less power of suction yes in my experience x
The Medela works great with a powerbank
Always get a proper pump like the Medela over gimmicky ones like Elvie if you only get the one.
What is the difference between elvie pump and elvie curve tho? :)

Anna P I would actually LOVE to know more about this! No idea myself but could come in handy one day ... asking for a friend 😂

You might be right, but these were the two I had bought! I also had loads of requests for this from my IG as think they're two very popular choices x
great video bro

Do we need to hold the flanges of medela breast pump throughout the pumping session ???
yes, unless you have the hands free pumping bra which I linked above. Its essential! x
