Cool line, but in my opinion I would trade sunspot and morph for Archangel and night crawler.

Jean Grey, Storm, Magneto, Cyclops, Gambit, Rogue, Beast, Jubilee, Morph, Bishop, Sunspot(New Mutants), and Wolverine. Hopefully, we'll get Angel, Ice Man, Colossus, Havok, and every other mutant to show up.

Angel is transformed into ArchAngel though. Also Ice-Man already showed up as a 40 year old guy and an old member of X-Men

Why was this the case? I have no clue, Marvel is a weird company that makes weird choices.
I remember watching xmen 97 when I was a kid it was a great show and if it's successful maybe Marvel and Disney might consider reviving avengers Earth's mightiest heroes it was the best animated version of the Avengers each episode built the team so well
It wasnt 97 though 😂. I think the TAS show came out in 92 and ended in 97. That's why they call this new show X-Men 97, the new series will pickup where TAS left off.

Adding bishop and sunspot to the team is EXACTLY how the MCU shoould handle the Xmen/Mutant X team movies in regards to increasing diversity and representation! Rather than changing an established character's race, gender or sexuality, draw from the VAST array of X-charcaters that are maybe lesser known, but are more diverse.
Examples: POC- Shard, Karma (also gay), Warpath, Darwin, Danielle Moonstone, Tempo, Bling, Rictor, Armor, Cecelia Reyes, Forge, Frenzy, the Monet twins, Sync, Dust, Prodigy,etc.
LGBT- Northstar, Mystique, Destiny, Bling, Ice Man, Anole, Shatterstar, Rictor
There are SO many to choose from, rather than swapping out races/sexuality and genders and pissing off part of the fan base, that would be SUPER excited to see these Characters like Northstar/ice man or bling or darwin. NO PROBLEM w/ diversifying the teams (it is NEEDED) just do not change estblished charcters to do so.

Probably for 1 More diversity and 2 the roster's big enough as it is.
Bishop being here does make sense though because he was on X-Men Gold Team, which is what the roster in TAS was based on, along with Blue Team.

Ahh i was hoping for Nightcrawler. So they basically went with the same team from before except adding sunspot and giving morph a bigger role.
About a year ago, he along with Cable were also planned to be on the team, but I guess that was changed. Kinda sucks because I love Kurt.
I can't wait to see Xmen 97 this year I hope Rogue and Gambit become a Married couple and to see more Scarlet Witch as well

Eh she's 18 when she first joined(1980s) and in 1991/92 she's 20-21 gambits 19-23 storm is older than gambit, psyloke is younger than gambit. Wolverine is... Old. Jean is around storms age, same for Scott beast is 3 or so years older than Scott. Jubilee is 13 or 12 (15 in animated for some reason) yes.
I'm cautiously hopeful. He's not as black passing as he is in the comics but I really hope they keep Sunspots story the same. The racism that he faced being Afro-Brazilian is an important aspect to his character and I would love to see it played out in the show.
Well... all I know is that if they can remake X - Men the animated series, I don't see any reason why they can't bring back Spectacular Spider-Man
It's not a remake it's a continuation of the X-Men animated series. It picks up where the series left off in '97 hence the title of the series.

The only way that we're all gonna be watching the revival is either if only the characters r drawn with the same graphics that they were originally drawn with back then or for an announcement that both "X-Men: Evolution" and "Wolverine and the X-Men" r gonna be revived.

Depends on how you define “deserved”. I think everybody agrees that Wolverine and the X-Men ended on a much bigger cliffhanger than left a direct lather open for continuation. On the other hand, X-Men TAS clearly has the largest fanbase, so it’s kind of a “majority rules” situation where you need to cater to the largest audience

Storm should have always had a bigger role than she did in the original series as much as i still love it.
Its also extremely nice not to have logan be the person at the front for once.
What im more interested in is if they bring in some of the newer mutants or if its gonna be the same from the original series.
Sunspot is very cool. I’m curious about his story role. This series looks truly fantastic! Can’t wait to see it! I hope that the Wolverine and Storm romance comes back too! I think that romance is under appreciated!

This is a very good lineup, and if they didn't have Cyclops, and Wolverine, the show wouldn't be very good. Because, with those two, you can bring back the love triangle that was in the original series.

It's not a REBOOT. Here is a quote from the description of the show: "It serves as a revival of X-Men: The Animated Series (1992-97), and the plot will continue where the original series left off. X-Men '97 is produced by Marvel Studios Animation, with Beau DeMayo serving as head writer."
I don’t think you understand what reboot means. Because it’s quite literally the perfect definition of a reboot. It’s starting up something that has been shut down.
It’s not a remake, it’s not a reimagining, they are straight up rebooting and continuing the series.

Originally, the rhetoric and propaganda used in the XMen comics and animation were of the civil rights movement and the struggle of people of color. The same rhetoric is used toward gay and trans people, and it will be used toward "mutants".
