    I really like how, as soon as the video opens, you let us see the final result, or the final reaction and then you tell the story and show the installation process. More often then not, you end up watching a long boring installation to get a mediocre result. Thank you for the style, the content and the positive attitude and honesty.

    I wish I’d seen your video before I bought mine from another vendor a couple months ago. Their instructions had me drilling the tabs on the oem lights out in order to remove. Your way is easier & allows you to keep the originals in case you ever want to put them back. Also, seems like these are a better price! Dagnabit! Great video, as always.

    Hi-
    Great videos. Hansshow has two styles for this light, Simple or Fishbone. Which style did you install? Are both styles sequential? Or does one option light up like the OEM turn signal light does? If both are sequential, what is the difference? Thanks!

    do you know why some rear reflector lights flashes when braking(other ones I've seen on RUclips)? this one I noticed, doesn't flash, it's a solid brake light when braking. thanks.

    You are removing reflectors that are there so that if your car is parked in a dark area, it will be visible to cars coming up from behind.
    Do your replacements have any built in reflectors or are they just all lights?
    I’ve asked this question over and over on manufactures and others that have installed these and I’ve never gotten any answers. It would be easy for you to shine a light on them in your garage at night. Brian, you can tell me if I am just being a crazy 😜 fool and I shouldn’t care about this safety issue. Thank you so much 😊

    • @NJturtlePower
      @NJturtlePower 2 года назад +1

      The replacements are all reflective material as well, no passive safety is lost.

    I have tried 3 sets of these for my Model 3 trying to find a pair that animate as yours do. Every set I get just has a single strobe that animates outward instead of how yours have the fill effect. My brake light animation does 4 hyper flashes before going solid which is way too long imho instead of the 2 quick flashes. No startup animation like you have either. :(

    Brian, Can you daisy Chain these lights with Hansshows other tail lights or the Hitch Pilot light? if so, do you know if there a limit to how many you can plug-in

  • @awo1fman
    @awo1fman 3 года назад

    The functions seem a little fiddly and in some cases odd to me, but they're pretty cool. I would get them if I had a Model 3 or Y.
    I found some lighted ones on ebay for my Model S, but they're not animated or sequential, they just duplicate the basic parking and brake lights. There's no third function for turn signals. I suppose the bright function could be used for that instead of brake, but since I'm not in North America that's probably not a good idea (turn signals must be amber here.) The other thing is that they have no connectors, just bare wire ends. I'm waiting for the taiillight connectors I ordered so I can make a Y adapter. I'm also going to add trailer wiring and a hitch so I can add a rear bike rack and even tow a little utility trailer, so adding in the wiring for these doesn't add much trouble to that operation. I'm also going to add a set of relays to isolate all the trailer and add-on lights so there's no possibility of creating problems with the stock circuits.
    I understand there are a lot more 3 and Y out there than S and X and there always will be, but it really chaps my hide that they are getting all the love from the aftermarket and the S and X are increasingly being left out in the cold. There are actually far fewer accessories and upgrades available for the S and X now than there were a cohple of years ago, and with the new versions coming out I don't see that ever getting better for 2020 and older models. And no, the new S and X are NOT "refreshed", they are new from the ground up and very few parts are interchangeable. I guess I'm just going to have to roll up my sleeves and DIY everything I want from scratch. In addition to making the inboard hatch taiilight sections functional (the turn signal section has no LEDs at all and the red section only has running lights, no bright brake mode), there are a number of upgrades I want to do on the interior.

  • @Rogue_Leader_MYP
    @Rogue_Leader_MYP 3 года назад +1

    Brian as far as the aftermarket taillights go have you heard as to whether or not the 2021 models with the separate amber turn signal from the brake light if they work out better. I haven’t taken delivery of my MYP yet otherwise I’d look in to trying to get a hold of a set to test because I haven’t been able to find anyone with a newer MY that’s installed them. Love the lower market lights. Will definitely be picking those up. Thanks for the tutorial.

    • @rmolep
      @rmolep 3 года назад

      I just installed them but I have the 2020 MYP so both amber turn signal and brake will turn on when you brake. It’s not a big deal but they should make it instead of amber make it RED

    • @TeslaDIY
      @TeslaDIY 3 года назад +1

      @@rmolep If you realllllly want it to work properly, you can run a separate wire from your side camera, there is a 2 wire connection for turn signal, tap into those wires and run it allllllll the way back to your tail lights ( along the rocker panel ) for your turn signals

    • @NJturtlePower
      @NJturtlePower 2 года назад +3

      It’s the hyper flashing… likely only one side. To stop this you can cut or disconnect the blue wire in the harness. What this will change is that when you headlights or parking lights are on these will stay off and only come on as sequential signals. IMO they are too much to be constantly on anyways.

    • @nailars9147
      @nailars9147 2 года назад +1

      @@NJturtlePower Thanks for the insightful feedback. I will follow your suggestion and disconnect the blue wire for the simplistic look. I just ordered the Hansshow Eagle Eye tail light but in a clear style instead of the dark-smoked version like yours.
