Yeah that's a dope job can you just tell me more how it works like when you get in your car do you have to turn something on does it turn off when you exit your car do you have to login to the app every time
It stays connected to your phone via bluetooth. Once you exit the car and the doors close the lights turn off. You can also turn them off via the app. I turn my off during the day and back on during the evening.
@@m3jazz So the lights are not controlled by the ODB connection? It relies on the bluethooth connection to the app? That will be a big no go for me.
@@ugurh5213 the lights are hard wired to the car, you use the app to change the colors and different light effects. Because they are hard wired to the car, they automatically turn on once you unlock the car and turn off once you lock the vehicle. They are connected via the plugs under the rear a/c as shown.
@@m3jazz So you can turn them on or off or dim from the model 3 Pad?
@@Tarkstuff no, that has to be done from your phone via the app
Will this work on a 2019 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range where footwell and door lighting is disabled?
@@A-FILM_DK yes. It doesn’t need the footwells to work
@@m3jazz Thanks for answering. Will I also be able to control it from the cars center screen? For now I don't have an ambient light option on the screen.
@@A-FILM_DK it is controlled from an app via bluetooth.
Quick question. I’ve just ordered my lights. How long did this installation take? Can a not so technical person do this?
Congratulations! You can totally install these by yourself. It will most likely take a couple of hours. Keep me posted on how they turn out 🤘🏽
I'm installing on Saturday 10/14 @@m3jazz
@@Patreaseful how awesome. Keep me posted on how it goes!
Hi! Please help. Did install now my back seat ac will not turn off when running ac even with no one on back seat. Did this happen to u?
@@viennarosephotography7784 hi there. This did not happen to me at all
I got it sorted :) soft restart :)
Also! Saw a certain stadium in the background which means you may be in my area! Do you do install of the door lights for donation?
@@viennarosephotography7784 hi there! I am in the OC and do mobile installation 😎
South oc rate for just the doors
How they holding up?
Still good as new. Just installed a set in my girls model 3 last week 🤘🏽
Hey bro thanks for the link and explanation, was wondering if this will void warranty and you know how long the led light will last by chance?
Much appreciated fam, I am not sure of the warranty part. Ive had a Tesla service appointment since install and they didn’t say anything about them. They have done pretty well for me so far with no issues.
Does it come with the pry tool for installation do you have link for it if doesn't package coming in today @@m3jazz
@@bindyjohal9024 yes, it should come with all tools needed for the install, I believe it is a turquoise color.
@@m3jazz thanks
@@m3jazzfriend installed it everythings good accept basically on the drives footwell only green color seems to be working when I change it to purple everything else will change but only green will stay on the driver's side and it will stay dim , also the wire beside the module was making a footwell light come on and off but it's okay for now unless it is moved
Do these lights work so they will only come on during the evening?
You would have to manually turn them on or off as they come on automatically when the doors are open
@@m3jazz thanks for your reply. Keep up the great work!
@@Joshsmoove much appreciated!
Does this also come with lights for the back seats? I just ordered the 2024 kit.
Sure does
@@m3jazzthe video doesn’t show the install of the back seat lights. I didn’t know if I need the full kit 2023.
And it doesn’t show the back seats lit up.
@@jajacobs2 thats because I didnt install those. I have seat back covers and did not know if they would stick on the material. You do need to purchase the full kit for the back lights.
@@jajacobs2 yes it does. 11:10 🙌🏽
Does the light go off immediately when you leave/lock the car before car goes to sleep?
Yes, they are hard wired. So they will turn on and off once you exit and enter the vehicle. No worries there. You also have the option to turn them off manually via the app as well.
@@m3jazzin the app can you select which lights you leave on or off? For example keep the dash off and the footwell on.
@@barrygrandon4429 that is correct. You can individually select which lights to have on or off 🤘🏽
What did you do with the cable that were attached to the lights?
Which one? They are all neatly tucked away
Ok I will tuck them away also. I’m about 80% complete . I have a few cable issue’s. Thank you for showing me all things are possible. I can’t wait to be completely finished 😊thank you. I will keep you posted
@@Patreaseful happy to help any way I can
do the rear usb ports still work after install?
They sure do
$329 for the kit? Geez
Yea. Its a great price for the entire interior
I’ll pass…..that price is way too much.
@@v2F1boy considering most other kits are $700+. Okay lol. No one said you had to buy it 😂
@v2F1boy spent $223 for a kit that replaced saddle and dash and it looks stock. Was a pain to take everything apart but looks good.
It’s a $50,000 car so….
How much can I charge if I want to sell this as an installation service ?
Thats up to you 🤷🏽♂️
Too bad it doesn’t have the side door trim strips for the 2022-23 models
Maybe in the future 😎
Is there a way to keep it off if Im driving during night time?
Turn it off from the app
Yea, they charge way too high for some simple LED strips
Way more cost effective than the others that charge twice as much ✌🏽
My same thought, but I believe the way it is installed is why. I haven't found any kit that is installed this way.
@@kaimanson3174 yea, they charge that much because of the way they tap into the rear passenger MCU for power and the custom app for LED.
lol i just installed mine today and they died right after i finished, what a joke
@@mob6202 thats interesting 🤨. Sorry you are experiencing this. Have you tried to contact support or make sure the connectors are properly plugged in? Ive had this happen to a few people and it was just the connectors. Best of luck 👍🏽
@@m3jazz everything is connected correctly, the lights were working just fine until i opened the app and messed with the settings. I’ve even unplugged and replugged everything to see if they’ll turn back on but nothing works. I just contacted support but i’m not sure when i’ll hear back.
@@mob6202 dang that is weird. Even without the app they wont turn on?
@@m3jazz did some troubleshooting, in the settings i had the lights set to 60 px on accident, switched it to 1024 and now they’re all on. not sure what it means but i got the lights working now
@@mob6202 LETS GO!!! Enjoy 😎
Follow up:
Buyer beware, do not buy this product. My dash light worked for about five minutes and stopped working entirely. Definitely the fault of the light as the door lights work fine in the dash port on the control module. If you wanna let your Tesla stick with something very basic or buy one of the more expensive brands, you get what you pay for I guess. this kit is just trying to be too much, a jack of all trades is a master at none.
WOAH WOAH WOAH, Mine and countless others have been working perfectly fine. 🤷🏽♂️. Did you call support and ask for a replacement? Sorry you’re going through this.
@@m3jazz I don’t see a number to call them but I’ve been emailing them. Regarding the missing parts They stated they have new hires which aren’t trained properly. Still waiting for a response for the faulty light. But With all the problems I had this far I’m really not interested in a replacement and so glad I didn’t get to the door panels. At this point hopefully they’re good enough to just refund me if not I guess I just cut my losses.
@@joshmaier18 there was another customer who thought his light wasn’t working properly and they talked him through how to fix it. I would wait for their response before you immediately go and tell folks not to buy a product because it has become too much work for you to try and install correctly 🤷🏽♂️.
Great video!
Many thanks
