For the "years of experience ' where someone with a license has to testify your work and capabilities . What if you've ways worked landscaping on your own . Can I use a client as testimony of my work I've done
Yes, get it in written form. Like a letter directly from your clients with signature. To be honest the only people getting checked on the years of exp. are electricians, plumbers, and class a and b general contractors. Trades like paint, drywall, landscape dont get checked that much when asked for an employer letter. But even if you can get one from a contractor that's seen your work they can be used too.
@@DaOriginalMurdah dude thanks for the help ! I'm planning getting my landscape license . Im just trying to investigate the whole thing before I invest any kind of money . So I really appreciate you responding
@@rauljrlara9994 no problem. Its seems complicated but honestly anybody can get the license. Its simple. All the info on my videos is the law and business and its really easy. The trade is easy to if you know your trade. The part in the contracting game is the daily business when doing everything legit is easy when you get the hang of it in terms of paper work. The hard part is getting the right clients, I imagine you already know. Not everyone is willing to pay what the actual job is worth. If you got the clients already set I say do it. Without going to a contractors school you'll probably spend about $1200-$2,000 depending on trade.
@@DaOriginalMurdah so law and business is one part of the questions. And trade is also . What is trade tho ? . Where do I find info for that . Or is that just the basic knowledge of the job/license youre going for ?
@PAINTHINNERGANG I worked various trades (one company we built foundation, framing and roofing and the other was all concrete) from 1999-2008. I had the contractors sign papers stating my experience but in 2008 I was forced into other work because of the economy. I worked as a bartender and went to college and got my business degree and am back in construction on the management end. Even though I haven't been building with my hands in the last 10 years, am I still qualified or do you have tips on how to go about it? Would the education along with the management aspect be enough? Or do I need to get those papers updated?
You can still apply. Now you might want to get the papers updated before anything. Also since you are college educated it will count. If you have A.A you get up to 1 1/2 years of credit to the 4 years needed and if you have a 4 year degree you can get up to 2 years of credit. The degrees must be accredited though. Since you are now in management it still counts since you are still working in the industry. Now you must have everything in order before applying though because if an issue arises you will have to verify the information. Also get your current employer to also sign employment history papers aswell and any you have previously worked with that in the industry.
@@DaOriginalMurdah Cool, thanks for your help. One last thing: I work for a GC but was wanting to get my C-8. I have worked in the concrete industry since 08. Do you think there will be any issues? I should have what I need right now without prior experience, but if you think I might have issues, then I probably better get those updated for sure. ***I have a 4-year business degree and over two years in management.

You want to get the C-32 - Parking and Highway Improvement license. Some people go farther and get the C-8 - Concrete if they do concrete work but for striping just the C32 is necessary.
Yes but most wouldn't go that route. Most residential will require class b and that's about it. If you'd want class a then you would need an architect or structural engineer so unless you're doing huge apartment complexes, parking areas, public buildings, etc then you won't need a class a just a b. If you have a Class A you can already do everything else a class b can do. Class B is typically residential and Class A is typically union companies or very big private work corporations. Most union companies have multiple licenses whether they do that work or not.
Sophia De Laird There are parts to this video. There is a lot of information to be covered. Most of it is on the CSLB website but it is a hassle to assemble together. I am doing it for free but do not have time to upload all of them right away. There will be a part 3 and 4 maybe 5 if it takes more videos.
