That third game is a great example of why battles are so bad. All those creatures and all that attack opportunity just to get a planeswalker that dies the next turn AND your life was still at 20.
CGB I've made a mill deck that combos Hidetsugu and Kairi, Breach the Multiverse, and Jace Perfected Mind. Wonder what you think of this combo and if you could build for it I'd love to see it.
If the battle text says "you cast it to no cost" from exile when it flips, does that make it an ability that can be countered? There's a card in MTG:BRO that counters an activated ability...
Battles have a "When the last defense counter is removed from this permanent, you may cast the back side" ability, which you can counter and prevent the opponent from playing the back side.

It had control and go wide cards..
And exile a 1 drop spell to cast with the ability.. well..

If it's cast, it can be countered

It can be countered by any typical counter spell. Wash Away definitely increases in value as these cast from exile cards see more play.
@@danielgregg in most cases the backside is the more dangerous half so maybe wash away is the card to go for
