Obviously, I don't have the piece in my hands, so I am only going by visuals, but do you think filing the bottom corners of the bridge sides on where it is touching the upper platformwould allow it to drop down enough to align with the platform? I am not sure if I am explaining this good enough. :D
Why not make it go straight across. The have a wall running up from the tower with a ladder. Paint the wall the same color as the tower. That way figures will have no problem standing. Just an idea.
