The goal was to slide bait mackerel for my first land-based Kingfish with multiple attempts carried out I managed to nail my target!

badass dude haha congrats on ur 1st ever kingfish haha made it look very easy haha. very good 1st catch. the hardest part for me personally is getting the right amount and size of livebait for the kings.
Thank you so much man! The hardest part for me was getting the bite from one however the morning I caught this kingfish the livies were alot harder to get than previous attempts but I didnt give up and it paid off :D
A triumph - and well shared. The slider rig no doubt was the business. Like the live bait tank - excellent set up - those mighty Kingis love the live bait.

I been chasing king fish for ages this summer. No luck at all . And when we leave I see someone post up a king fish at same spots 3 times now . Lol
I know how you feel I've been trying to get another one but giving up for now as soon as I leave one shows up has happened three times to me aswell it's pretty guttering lol.

Hey I'm super stoked you like the videos I have fished there a little I know there is kahawai trevally barracouta in there. People do get the odd kingfish and snapper out of there but it is pretty rare. I will try for you but no promises it can be hard going and is a very popular spot. Really appreciate you

Yeah it was head cam and there's not much more I could of done solo I really need chest cam asap I've been looking for those neck rings aswell only place I can find that has them is temu. I tried to get old mate to record as he showed up but camera was on time-lapse mode. Thanks so much man hopefully more to come! 😁
I pointed the camera down like that so it could see the reel rod was 14ft so even if it was facing forward would of only seen the middle of the rod. However it could of been better. I will keep trying 😉
I use superview and try to be aware of where head is pointing, getting a few different angles by tilting head a little and just using the best of the footage. Head mounts are best I think as screen isn't half filled with arms and reel. Looks more interactive to the viewer. A pain to wear all the time though. Two view points mixed up in the editing works well. Human brains can loose concentration after 6 sec so good to keep scenes to less than that if possible... just to keep viewers attention. but its a lot of editing work....lol. Anyway a top effort mate! a shame Treesforlunch wasn't there to add scenes for the vid.

Very nice fish and it is good to see you slide baiting for it. Out of interest what rod were you using? Looked like you had two baits left lol. Four attempts then landing a fish like that is pretty good odds for a built up area like Wellington.
Hey thank you. I was using two 14ft Penn allegiance II. Not really ideal rods for kingfish however it is what I have as I've never been "well off" on the money side of things on the plus side the long rods allow me to cast the sinker out deep. I appreciate you checking out the video 😁
