wow! awesome video. Alloy is a Gd send. My NAMS certified practitioner in NYC stated she could no longer help me due to "complicated " breast health and I should speak with my breast -onco doctor for advice about my current hrt . Of course the breast -onco doctor said stay away from hrt (and be miserable). Dr Menn gave me fact based utd information which made me comfortable to continue with hrt (transdermal estrogen) . Monica thank you so much for starting this company! I feel so bad you had to suffer so long before you found the proper path.

🎉 Always love hearing updates from the marvelous Dr. Bluming! One small but critical corrective note at 13.1 minutes in the transcript: it was 2002, not 2022, when the erroneous and damaging news was publicized about the WHI study. It’s been 21 long years for us to backtrack all the progress lost for women everywhere.

I was told that tamoxifen could cause uterine cancer by providers. I experienced a complete lack of orgasm and uterine polyps and was taken off it. Lobular invasive carcinoma er +, prog +. I was 52. I was put on anestrosole, but I made me feel worse, depression type symptoms and fog brain. Most women I knew at Gildas club quit tamoxifen re: they could be aroused but could not orgasm. An ob/gyn said vaginal estradiol is ok, just in lesser doses. I did a lot of research on cancer and sexuality to help myself at a place called A Woman's Touch in Madison, WI. Regular follow-up with 3D mammogram and MRI are critical to catch reoccurring cancer. My surgeon insisted on an MRI "just in case" and we caught a new cancer same type but a lumpectomy could be done with radiation. I had no reoccurring instance of the original cancer after 12 yrs which is awesome.

I had low grade ER/PR +breast cancer with a right sided mastectomy. My HRT was stopped and I was prescribed Letrozole which was awful. I stopped it.
I can’t find a doctor to give me HRT. I’d rather have breast cancer than the way I was living. Please advise how can find a doctor that will help. The handful I’ve found online don’t take insurance and charge over $1000. With no guarantee of what treatment they will use.
Thank you so much for the information.

what happened? Did your ob/gyn tell you that she/he would not prescribe it anymore?

    • @normapenetta5940

He lectured me. I walked out crying! I was never spoken to like that by a doctor. I went to him for years and always liked him! I didn’t even cry when I got my cancer diagnosis!
He said no doctor in the county will ever prescribe it and he wouldn’t because he has 4 kids to put through college and he has thousands of patients with breast cancer.
      I won’t go back.
I need to find another gynecologist but I don’t know how and I just had my annual.

This is not just a midlife issue. I was happily on hrt @ 72 when I got bc. The hrt was ended instantly, luckily the bc was not invasive, but the menopause has been rough. Don’t count us older women out!

Sorry, meant to say the petition on line is to require menopause training in medical school for ALL doctors. According to a recent survey in 2023 only about 30 per cent of ob/gyn students get training in menopause. Disgraceful.

Great video and topic! Unfortunately even with all the information presented Alloy won’t prescribe HRT for pts who had BC. They will do the vaginal or face estrogen cream and that’s it

Hi! We fully believe the science and evidence that estrogen after breast cancer is something that can and should be offered to women, and we are here to advocate for shared decision-making and the best quality of life for all women. We are working hard on creating a pathway to best serve this community with information and personalized care that includes an in-depth review of their cancer history and specific diagnosis, more lengthy and detailed discussion of benefits, risks and alternatives of systemic hormone therapy, and coordination with her health care team. We hope to have this up and running later this year!

the initial diagnosis for my healing journey was stage 4 hormone positive HER2 negative with no genetic component. Am I still a candidate for hormones? I have had an oophorectomy and menopause symptoms are tough

somebody PLEASE talk about if you are still actively dealing with a tumor? What I am hearing is if it does not goe to the tumor, and getting off HRT affected joints, mood etc etc.
