Hi! In menopause, the use of menopausal hormone therapy does not cause fibroids to enlarge, appear or regrow. A history of fibroids prior to menopause is not a contraindication to hormone therapy.
Lots of great information! Just a little disappointed that you didn’t talk about bioidentical hormones. I am much more comfortable with the idea of using a product that is identical molecularly to what my body makes naturally. I use bioidentical estriol cream (which is the weakest form of natural estrogen) on my vaginal area and have had great success in improving the condition of the tissues. I am hoping to go on a systemic bioidentical estradiol topical for improving bone loss soon.
Thank you! Noted, that could be a great topic for a future webinar! At Alloy, a priority is that the hormones in our products are bioidentical - meaning that they are molecularly identical to the hormones our bodies naturally produce. These hormones tend to be made from plant-based forms - ours are made from yams!😊
@@myalloy May I ask what pharmacy or lab makes the products you use? I will be talking to my doctor about hormone therapy and I don’t know that she has a source in mind.

There was dementia on both sides of my family. I went on hormone replacement in my 50's thinking it would give me protection and the clinic where I went gave me vaginal estrogen and no systemic estrogen. The clinic had been informed as to my concerns and that I also had osteoarthritis. I am now 71 years old and just found out by listening to Dr.Casperson that my brain has not been receiving any estrogen and nor have my joints. Is it too late for me to start on a patch and if it is not too late then is the patch preferable over a pill? I have not had any blood clots and if there is no sound research that can link cancer with hormone replacement (cancer on both sides of family) then could it be something that might still benefit me? I would like to confront them but would like more knowledge before doing so.
Does estradiol vaginal cream help to prevent BV, and yeast infections? Can it cause ovarian cancer, uterus cancer, and cervical cancer? There's a black box warning that comes with the cream with these warnings. Thank you.
Hi! Vaginal estradiol cream is a very low-dose topical estradiol cream that is considered by the Menopause Society to be safe for almost all women. We'd recommend speaking with a menopause-trained doctor so they can review your medical history and symptoms and answer any questions you have! We can help at Alloy.🥰
There is a black box warning on all estradiol’s because of that old study that has been disproven. Hormones can feed some cancers but don’t cause cancer.
Dr Casperson where are you based? Do you do consultations online and supply the hormones and do you monitor bloods and smear tests and mammograms and and health screenings you deem necessary? Thank you both for your very educational podcast.
I am definitely in the cream camp. It has worked wonderfully. But i still have slight burning occasionally. I was wondering if people have used DHEA pessaries and can you use it with the cream. The ovestin local dose is 500mcg in the uk, i might use this daily and i was worried it was too much, anyone else have to do this? 😊
Hi, great question! At Alloy, we treat based on symptoms. The latest guidelines from The Menopause Society and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) do not recommend blood work or hormone testing because every woman's "optimal" level is different, and your hormone levels can fluctuate so drastically day to day (actually even hour to hour).

Just started vaginal cream 2 days ago. I'm just using the applicator that came with the vaginal cream and putting it as deeply inside my vagina as possible - and then pushing the 1 gram in, as the instructions say. Is that the way I should be using it? Or should I be spreading it around inside there more, to get to as many areas as possible, by putting some on my finger and rubbing it around inside - along with the applicator amount? Should I also be rubbing a small amount around externally, too - the whole vulva area, so to speak? Thank you!
