Rode has shshshshshsh background noise. Ulanzi cuts the background noise and is more clear but it has a little bit of denoised audio sense. Ulanzi wins I think. thank you for the review.
Thank you Doug! I also make travel videos and just ordered the Ulanzi on Amazon. I also have the Sony a7sIII and the Sony ECM-B1M mic but they are brand new inside a drawer because the latest iPhones have been so much easier to use and the stabilisation rules. LIKED and SUBBED. Cheers from Sydney AUSTRALIA ☺ Adriano
The Rode sounded like it did a bit of compression and eq but either mic would need the audio cleaned up in post so it probably doesn't matter. The price difference is pretty compelling. Ulanzi is almost disposable. I certainly wouldn't cry if I had to order another set.
I didn't use a specific app, I used the normal video record mode. I generally don't use phones for recording video but I saw how popular these were and thought I'd try them out!
That's an interesting question... You need a special adapter to use 3.5mm mics on the GoPro's. I'd imagine you need something similar for the USB connection but I'm not 100% on that.
What's better for a youtube phone wireless mic? 2.4ghz or a Bluetooth mic?? Trying to figure out if I got 2.4ghz wireless mic or Bluetooth mic.. please help which one should I go for?
Hmmm... I'm so super boring in the world of phones. I've only owned a Samsung Galaxy for years, and years, and years. I just upgrade it every year so my phone brand knowledge is limited. Maybe someone will see this post and comment with some advice for you. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful with that one.
There are times that you need to configure in the phone that the recording audio is the external one (I don't remember the exact path but it is inside the settings, obviously). It is usually set to automatic and the phone may be choosing the internal one. If that doesn't work then you may also need to enable OTG mode on the phone.
You’re not sure that the microphone supplied with a lightning blade will work with an action camera that does not have an Apple lightning blade connection? Well. All integrity gone in that statement alone.
@@DOUGandNIKI I think you should say it doesn’t work with the apple blade connector, because the camera doesn’t have one. You should commit to something for your audience if you respect them. I doubt it would ruin your chances of gaining any sponsorships. Also, if you have “no idea” about something that basic, and don’t do any research to learn, don’t review the item. Simple! It’s like the blind leading the bloody blind.
I think we share similar / common views... drives us crazy as photographers & videographers when people say they use their phones as real cameras and they are just garbage compared to a real camera.

Blown away with how good the ulanzi sounds. Thanks for the review!
Yeah, I was impressed too! Enjoy!
Thanks I wasn’t sure making videos is a thing for me so this will do.
Glad I could help. I think that is a great choice for exactly what you are talking about.

Thanks for the extra info and perspective!
Thanks for this ❤
No problem 😊 Glad it was helpful!

I sub'd also! What's your next adventure?

Nah, bought these myself. I agree...I'd like Amazon to send me stuff for free!
Thanks so much for the review! Will the type c work on a Windows PC?
I don't see why not.
Hello! What app do you use on your phone to record the sound? Thank you! Have a beautiful day!

Hey Doug! Thanks for reviewing, wondering if it works with GoPro? Could you do a quick test? Solve our curiosity!

I can't say I know exactly. have you look at the new Rode Me? That should be a great system for a phone.
Ulanzi has much cleaner and sharper sound quality.
Thanks for your thoughts on it. Have you seen a difference with the recent firmware upgrades by Rode?
Unfortunately it's not working with my Motorola G100 AKA Edge S, so is there a way on how to make it work?

I had same problem with phone camera app, Gcam lets You to choose external micro
You had noice cancellation on.
hmm....
what happens after the 4-5 charges are used up?
Just recharge the case.

I do nothing Apple at all. You think I should say how it works with Apple products when I have no idea?

Record live music. Then with your phone. You will find none of these devices work. And all these U beaut phone mic should be made way better.

OMG the hand waving is such a lot of bull, try being more genuine.
I really appreciate your coaching, I'll remember that next time. Thanks
