EP50 - FJ40 power steering Up Grade + Air conditioner kit from @12htj47. Archie's home built HJ47

- Over 6 weeks working in the back ground I have been working on upgrading my FJ40 to give me a little luxury, with a power steering install (Brought second hand, but Originally a Eureka Off-Road Kit),
I started out looking at fitting and making new brackets to fit and install the 2F power steering pump, But then realised that I would take away the option of Air Conditioner a little later down the track.
So after taking to @MrLandcruiser and getting a 2H power Steer pump, pulley and bracket to install and after giving a full rebuilding on the power steering pump (Video up SOON) and cleaning up the kit and making a new rear mounting bracket for the pump it has come up like new!
Now having power steering installed, next on my wish list is to look at a BRAND NEW (Reproduction unit) Air Conditioning Kit from @12HTJ47 (On Instagram)
With all New Knee Freezer evaporator, controller, condenser and wiring loom as well as all the brackets needed for the install.
I also share Archie's HJ47 build from his his own back yard with some modern upgrades, "1982 chassis with a 1983 cab, with a wiring harness and disc break upgrade from a 1986 75 series with a fully re-built 2H engine, Hoping to have it one the road all before Archie turns 18 in September. Check out his build on instagram - @back_yard_40s

I got the factory nippondenso in mine
Was in before i bought it.
From the factory
And its awesome in summer
Yep would make driving in the hot summer a lot more comfortable!
It would be nice to see a water tank behind the cabin /front of bed. About 4 inch thick.
Do you know what the steering box is off originally
It was a old Toyota Crown. They used this box before 60 series were on the seen.
I imagine it's a 60 pump to 60 box, I would love to see the spacer that gets you away from the shock arm
Yes 60 pump, but a Toyota crown box.
The spacer is shown in the video where Toyota crown box mounts up to front of the chassis.
nice work
Do you know if 12htj47 still sells these A/C kits? Would be keen on one
Yep he sure does! I will be doing a video install on his kit it a month or so.
@@40ChannelCruiser hi, how much is the AC kit?
Do you use the organl chassis holes to join the bracit. I mean the holes that hold steering sistem from steering box to this plice that you use to put on New bract for New steering box.
Yes, standard chassis holes. No modifications to the chassis.
@@40ChannelCruiser thank you so much for your answer. And you used fj60 strrig box. But do you need to make holes on the front grill to make hydrolic lines go throw??? Or no need
Nice work bro!! It’s looking awesome!!
Mate stick with the 60 series steering. The original is multi link and even when fully rebuilt wanders. Love the show.

Wanders on the road ?
A mate bought a 40 with a v8 chev in it
Previous owner flipped the front suspension
MEANING
The front shackle was put to the back and the back was put to the front
The front had a 50 or 65 rhs welded to the chassis and then the spring hanger
To that
Keeping the original height
And i was in the ute
He got up to 140kmh
And it drives awesome
No wandering at all
Great job! Watching you from Miami, FL. Can you tell me what size tires you have on the 40?
Unfortunately the guy at Eureka is working by himself & he is too busy to make any more of the kits up at the moment. If only Mr Land Cruiser was watching & could get into making up a bolt in kit like this.
Hey mate well done with your build and channel. Who supplied you the power steering set up? Im looking at doing the same for my 45
Eureka 4x4 down in Victoria made it original, But I brought it from someone else.
@@40ChannelCruiser do you know if thats a store or manufacturer, ive tried looking them up but it comes under a training organisation haha
Have you test fit the radiator since the power steering was added?
What size wheels and tires are on your LC? Did you lift it and if so, how much?
I have got 253 85 16R Mud Terrain on original Toyota split rims, plus 2" lift on the shackles.

Thanks!
Mate awesome episode I have a 60 steering kit sitting in my garage for my son’s hj45 but was going to get an original box because I didn’t want to cut shock support arm the kit you got seems to have a spacer to push box across to clear Strut and a crush plate nice job Do you think there would be any
Issues with getting a blue slip with that setup Mate as usual great content and very informative
I Create
Be just an engineers certificate id imagine
I got seats done
I put the seats in myself
Welder by trade
Only mistake i failed on was i didnt use the factory genuine bolt on the seats
Noel Scammell thanks mate really helpful I got a stainless bolt kit was going to use them in non structural areas sounds like a bad idea now thanks agin
Should be fine, comes from a reputable company and came off a FJ40 before going on mine.
