  • @llllllllllilillii
    @llllllllllilillii 7 месяцев назад +8

    I legit used to just spray my cucumbers and squash with 1% milk. worked every time. Now I don't till, don't use raised beds (too dry above the water table) and I do back to eden film gardening and never have ever had any of those problems ever again in over 10 years. I'm glad you're posting this though for people who still use raised beds and who till.

    • @growingoutthebox
      @growingoutthebox  7 месяцев назад +5

      I’d like to know your take on what you believe is the difference between raised beds. My raised beds have no bottoms with resivors underneath with decaying branches and leaves covered with native soil on the bottom of the bed. I use both compost tea and compost extract. Alfalfa. I don’t till, all of my soil in every bed is about 3 inches cypress mulch. Just curious as to where you see the difference?

    Tap water can be placed in a container and live out in the counter for 24 hours to get rid of the chemicals. Also, if you don’t want to waste milk by only letting it ferment, you can make ricotta cheese and use the leftover whey 😊

    For years we have been making kefir. My dad, told me a couple of years ago to water my blue berries with it. I had 3 blue berry bushes that were struggling. The one i started giving kefir water took off with lots of growth. I immediately started giving it to the other 2. One unfortunately died due to my dog digging it up. But the other 2 are thriving. Now i'll start spraying the leaves too.

    As for preservation you can mix the whey with molasses to make it more stable and keep in the fridge.
    Also a ration of 10/1 part water to whey is surly enough microbes and will keep mildew and pest at bay!
    Nice video!

    I like that very useful size, maneuverable sprayer that continues to spray as you need it to. No constant squeezing a handle or pumping it.

    Love that fence. Definitely know your stuff. Kitty sauntering through the garden just adds to that peaceful vibe. Will definitely try this. How often shoukd you apply the whey?

    Thanks for sharing. Where do you store the spoiled milk and how long can the whey mixture be kept in the pump sprayer.

      Store the whey in the fridge for the grow season
