Pricing, as mentioned in the video. (I knew roughly what the price was going to be, hence my comment about them being a the upper end for manual options). UK: Pro-Espresso. £699: tidd.ly/4caitSI EU: Superkop.com €660.30 + VAT: www.superkop.com/shop/ USA: Amazon $799.99: amzn.to/3LPCYcD Affiliate links above, order via these links and you're supporting this channel, cheers 🙂. The price is basically 700 quid thats a bit steep, for 1045.87 inc Vat, you can get an Argos Odessy where you can choose between spring lever for consistency or change it to manual lever whenever you want. Plus it has a boiler where you can froth the milk if you fancy a milk drink. Very nice looking machine with a novel ratchet system so yeah its very tempting.
Love mine! Built like a tank, nothing to maintain, easy to use, looks pretty good, no preheating, they pretty much nailed it! My only gripe is sometimes getting the piston to lift seems difficult, that mechanism could maybe be refined a bit
Great video Kev. I use a Flair and always start the pull slowly and release the shot slowly and find that I get a great result doing that, with the help of the pressure gauge. Would be interesting to see what’s going on with a pressure gauge on the Superkop, would freak me out at the pressure being lost every time you raise the handle
Thanks 🙂. Yeah I know what you mean by the temporary drop in pressure, but honestly it doesn't appear to have an impact on shot quality, I've made some mega tasty espresso with it. Ta, Kev.
I just love that you're doing 45g out! My fave target! Not many do this; everyone seems to love the 2:1 ratio, which I consider "ristretto" :) Great walk thru, Kev! Can't wait till you wall mount this bad boy.
Cheers Mark 😎 very kind. Yeah actually I've found myself naturally pulling slightly longer shots on the Superkop, and it works really well. I'll get one mounted (meaning I'll get someone else to do it, I'm not qualified to use power tools, I'd probably trash the place 🤣).
This is really interesting! I am surprised that I like this lever machine as much as I do! I’ve used a ROK and wasn’t too impressed. Love that it could be attached to the wall - manageable for small spaces.. also like that the water chamber can be removed! With the first few pumps of the lever do you not get any coffee through? How does that work?
@@Coffee_Kev Thanks for the reply...! I guess I'm just very twitchy about plastics and boiling water. Hopefully they can come up with a metal/glass/ceramic/silicone alternative with similar thermal properties. Best wishes.

Nice video of this machine, Kev! I saw this in Copenhagen, and it is indeed a fun machine to make espresso with. Cheers!
thanks Tom 😀

Yeah the first few lever positions just set the piston in place and then start to build up the pressure. Ta, Kev.
Hi there, did you use the 58.5mm Tamper or 58mm Tamper in the video? :) Thanks
Looks like the mhw-3Bomber 58.35 I just picked up one up on the black Friday deal 🎉 well the better YU Series Impact Tamper 😅
I can't unsee the change of portafilter at 5.24 in your workflow sequence...
aggghh, neither can I now!!
Will you be doing a review of the Ninja Luxe?
Once I get my hands on one, yes :-)
Such a shame about a plastic component - I wonder if they will make an alternative piece?
I don't think it's a problem to be honest, it's very hardwearing polycarbonate that they've chosen specifically for the thermal properties.

$800 on Amazon.... I can think of a few real espresso machines at this price...
Absolutely true there lots of electrical machines. But Superkop will last a lifetime plus very little maintenance and looks beautiful in your kitchen.
@@Superkop_espresso Lol, ok then 😂
I can confirm, this machine is real, it's definitely not a figment of your imagination! 😆
