Celebrating the 65th Anniversary of White Christmas
"White Christmas" spins the romantic and humorous tale of Bob Wallace and Phil Davis (Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye), two Army buddies who became a top-notch musical comedy team after the war and are now the toast of Broadway. While on the road in Florida, the stars become involved with twe aspiring singers, the sister act of Betty and Judy (Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen). Despite some romantic complications between the couples, everything ends on a happy note when Christmas Eve brings rave reviews for the show and much-needed snowfall!

Vera Ellen Danny Kaye Rosemary Clooney Bing Crosby: just the definition of talent and best ness. Could not and do not get through a December without this song or the movie.

This will always be my favorite Christmas holiday movie. I am 52 almost and my grandparents are all gone and aunts and uncles. It brings tears to my eyes ,because of the fond memories ,we had.I wish ,I could have them back and tell them how much ,I appreciate them and love them.Time truly

I stumbled on this video after finding out bing Crosby white Christmas is the number one selling single ever, 50 million copies sold.
Even though its April I can do Christmas music any time of the year.
I guess the best thing I can say is be happy knowing you experienced those moments and have those memories.

No matter how many times I see this movie, I’m always in awe of those beautiful dresses. Such a shame they weren’t preserved.
Every yr when I was a little girl I would watch this movie with my grandparents, my grandpa passed away Dec 31, 1981 and watching it brings tear to my eyes and it’s not the same at the age of 54

I Agree with you. Family and Friends back then CELEBRATED always together. Being up in age now sure miss the Good Old Times back then. Nothing now meets the standards like it was when we were young. Ho how I wish I can go back to that MYSTICAL, MAGICAL, MIRACLE OF YESTERYEAR.

This is my favorite Christmas Movie. Even if its not Christmas I still watch it. I love Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney singing White Christmas at the end, it always makes me cry because my Mom and I always watched it. And I lost her lasy year due to cancer.

What a brutal image definition. One of the very first film shot with a modern widescreen system called VistaVision for 35mm. I can't help but have my mouth open at the quality of the image and colors that they achieved in 1954. Everything looks perfect to show the new technology to the world.

It one of my favorite Christmas movies because it's not Christmas without Bing Crosby and my parents were kids in that era. I remember watching this the very first time on WNYW Ch 5 on Saturday after Thanksgiving in 1986 just over a week before I turned 4 years old in East Keansburg, New Jersey.

One of the most popular American vintage films on the theme of Christmas is “White Christmas,” made in 1954 starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. It is best remembered for the song “I’m dreaming of a White Christmas,” written by Irving Berlin and recorded by Crosby.
In the finale of the film, this song is sung by Crosby, Kaye and others, and leaves an unforgettable warm Christmas glow. But did you know that the incredibly talented and successful American comedian, musician and philanthropist, Danny Kaye, was in fact the son of Ukrainian Jewish immigrants from the city of Dnipro (formerly Dnipropetrovsk). His real name was David Daniel Kaminsky. Incidentally, five years earlier, Kay starred in a comedy loosely based on Nikolai Gogol’s “The Inspector General.”
In its 1987 obituary for Kaye, The New York Times wrote: “many admirers called him the greatest comedian of his time. President Reagan said… he ‘could light up a room just by smiling.’”

It is, no doubt, my very favorite Christmas movie, which I have been watching with my loved ones for the past 20 something years on Christmas Eve. I own the DVD and the ending is different than the one shown here by means that it SNOWS when the back doors open and Bing says "Merry Christmas". That's why people are saying "ahhh" when those doors open, because people were hoping for snow for Christmas. I don't understand why there are 2 different endings, one with snow (on DVD) and another one without snow.
Really!? I need to buy the DVD.
I don't get that either. I've always watched this film on TV (in the UK) and at the end - it snows! As William Shatner would say - weird or what?

Great movie
To me this movie wistfully and bittersweetly marks the end of an era. Within the coming year rock and roll would sweep the nation and the idea of Bing Crosby singing a bunch of Irving Berlin songs would seem quaint and old-fashioned.
