But the refs refused to give him technical fouls in several moments, because they thought the people wouldn't want someone to get kicked out of a Finals game like in years past. Turns out Draymond was actually trying to get ejected lol. Refs just weren't letting it happen smh. Personally, I just want the refs to officiate fairly. Because if I'm in that Celtics locker room, I'm making example of Draymond as a collective team. Celtics left Jaylen Brown handle clearly being targeted by Draymond's antics to fend for himself. Jaylen handled it well by himself but where was his teamates support. Draymond solely targeted Jaylen because he was the only that had any grit on the offensive end. If the Celtics were going to win the series it was apparent Jaylen Brown would've been the guy to deliver. He didn't back down, but he had take some of that focus away, to deal with a menace like Draymond by himself.

  • @therealhermann

Draymond might be over stating his role in the championship but his words carry weight. NBA Finals is one of those games where every second on the court matters. Every SECOND matters. Rebonds, steals, assists, fouls, techs, trash talking, pulling jersey, timeouts etc all play into the momentum of the game. Draymond’s role on the court is to create for his team and disrupt the other teams flow/momentum in a scrappy way. He pulls back the momentum to favor the warriors even when the splash bros are not swishing.
Celtics were well coached and pair up well against the Warriors. Game 1 off the finals showed it. 20 ppg (JB) is impressive but the entire team needs to be involved to get dub. We watched the Celtics choke 4th quarters even though they closed out previous series. Put Draymond on the Celtics in some of those 4th quarters against the warriors and they figure out a way to stop the bleeding. Part of it is mental! Credit Draymond for driving the Celtics to that place mentally.
