      im pretty sure as the story goes a russian tank commander named kalash-something picked up a stg44 from the battlefield and started his own design based of the stg44

      Jayden Davis no nigga, stg 44 is completely different than the AK 47. The only thing the Russians copied was the concept of an assault rifle.

      The internals are very different, but as far as being manufactured they tried to replicate the stg44. They failed with the AK47, but once they had figured out stamping like the Germans they built the AKM.

      I think you failed to account the accessibility of the weapon in Verdun, it accurately depicts the amount of the gin historically, it was made late in the war and was very rare on some fronts, in Battlefield, everyone is using it making it too common and inaccurate

    • @DifficultyTweak
      @DifficultyTweak 7 лет назад +1

      from my understanding the recoil direction thing only affects which way the gun kicks, so if you select your direction as left and start shooting itll start kicking to the left, or select right and itll start kicking to the right

  • @Baesili

    Explain me a thing: why is everyone praising BF1 as some glorious god-made whatever?
    I do not agree. Verdun did it better. Battlefield has another modern submachine gun disguised as MP-18.
    Verdun has the MP-18. Verdun isnt meant bo be fancy nor beautiful. Verdun is for the realism. The grey and brown reality.
    Battlefield 1 is just another cash-in battlefield, disguised in WW1 clothes, with an emotional campaign meant to grab the critics by the feels, graphics that are meant to blind them with the shaders, and dead simple mechanics so that people can find themselves in it more easily. Basically i can just call it a huge retexture. Everything is the same. Only good thing is that they havent left the reflex sights in it. Im not a smart person, and this is my opinion. Downdooted.

    • @TheBeardedMitchGaming
      @TheBeardedMitchGaming  7 лет назад +12

      +Konrad M.
      I don't think many people around here would disagree with most of the things you said. I also think my comparison basically agreed with your points.
      Verdun is by far more historically accurate, but Battlefield 1 (EA Dice) have the money and the resources to make an incredibly beautiful game that loosely simulates WW1 for the masses. They are two diffrent games played by (most of the time) two diffrent types of fps player.
      That does not make either any better or worse as a game though.

    • @justeping9469
      @justeping9469 7 лет назад +2

      Konrad Well stated, and yes; Verdun did everything better. It just amazes how the big gaming corporations, are hypnotizing these "sheep" out here today. To the point where people don't even realize that they're being resold the same game; but re-skinned. Case in point; (Baffle)field 1

      Juste Ping lol thanks for a good laugh let me start of with this I play Verdun ARMA 3 red orchestra and fuck me I even play mount and blade Napoleonic wars which is a hard-core shooter with muskets with shit accuracy and sabers and cannons that take forever to reload but at the same time I also love halo battlefield titanfall I enjoyed call of duty during the modern warfare era I don't give a shit what I play as long as I find entertainment in it that's your first mistake assuming my preference secondly I admit there are problems with it and areas I want them to improve on so does the fan base but we still love it battlefield 1 is not a perfect game but its dam good just like Verdun its a good game but has its flaws and if you want to experience what WW1 was like make a time machine go to the past join the army get shipped to the front and then you will truly know what it will feel like when you are lying on the ground bleeding to death after artillery shrapnel shredded your artery apart . and again consumer preference does not make better then you or you better then me

      Rayyan Ali o wait ur right, kalashnikov wanted to take the best assault rifle and rifle which was the stg44 and m1 grand and make 1 rifle.
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-47
      "The AK-47 is best described as a hybrid of previous rifle technology innovations. "Kalashnikov decided to design an automatic rifle combining the best features of the American M1 and the German StG44."[20] Kalashnikov's team had access to these weapons and had no need to "reinvent the wheel". Kalashnikov himself observed: "A lot of Russian Army soldiers ask me how one can become a constructor, and how new weaponry is designed. These are very difficult questions. Each designer seems to have his own paths, his own successes and failures. But one thing is clear: before attempting to create something new, it is vital to have a good appreciation of everything that already exists in this field. I myself have had many experiences confirming this to be so."[18]"
      "There are claims about Kalashnikov copying other designs, like Bulkin's TKB-415[21] or Simonov's AVS-31.[22]"

    The MP-18 is all wrong in Battlefield 1. It should only be available at a high level and not the first gun in the assault class and should not be as powerful.

    • @Failer33xD
      @Failer33xD 7 лет назад +7

      Harryhas26 Imo the mp18 is really not that powerful. In close range, it gets outclassed by almost every weapon of any class, I think it's a good starter weapon, but not more.

    Not angry, I actually really enjoyed this, but obviously a AAA game would beat an Indie game. They have more access to different things, for example they can actually record real sounds of weapons from the source, whereas Indie devs just don't have the money to do that

    • @TheBeardedMitchGaming
      @TheBeardedMitchGaming  7 лет назад +6

      I agree with you and I did not state it in the video but I kind of expected BF1 to score higher. I purposely did not tally up the scores
      as I went along so I was very surprised by how close Verduns MP18 scored to BF1.
      BF1 does have a lot of flash, but Verdun is very well done for the tools they had to work with and is still a great game.

      Lmao i like how people keep bringing up the gun sounds for bf1 as if it is a arguement cuz half guns were prototypes in the game or just impossible to get get in real life in general cuz they were never produced so the actual gun sounds in bf1 that are actually real are a handful not only that but they are dumbed down so you don't go deaf so in reality the gun sounds on bf1 are no better than verdun and tbh i prefer verdun better as i have fired guns in real life and verdun sounds more like you are actually firing the gun without ear protection where i feel like bf1 it sounds muffled and generic to where some of the guns sound exactly the same because they probably just used the same sound file but might or might have not changed it slightly

    This is a bit nitpicky, but I couldn't help commenting. The Stg isn't anything like an AK mechanically. They share a similar shape, but the AK is piston driven, and the Stg is a roller delayed blowback action. The Stg influenced the G33 and the G3 directly. The AK's development was The AK was designed originally as an SMG to replace the PPSH in Soviet, it's development was original.

    • @redneck96100

    Wish BF1 has a realistick mode with experimemtal guns and guns rarely used in WW1 made less appearances, have double damage, support not be able to hip fire LMGs and mustard gas did instakill.

    • @Merf_Gaming
      @Merf_Gaming 7 лет назад +3

      Why would support not be able to hip-fire LMGs? You know that was an actual tactic that machine-gun carriers were *instructed* to do, right? It was called "walking fire", I think

      Undead Unicorn I assume you don't know history or just trolling.

    • @liquidknives6275
      @liquidknives6275 7 лет назад +2

      Undead Unicorn fine I'll elaborate during ww1 and 2 lmgs were used by 2 or more soldiers depending on its typed. In modern fps it is fired and reloaded solo by one soldier which is unrealistic due to it being heavy, needing to be water cooled and reloaded with heavy ammo thus the reason a group of soldiers was used to operate lmgs. The mp18 would later be designed for the lone use of a soldier which was light and easier to reload.

    • @liquidknives6275
      @liquidknives6275 7 лет назад +2

      Undead Unicorn also though the BAR would be developed for the use of marching fire due to its low weight and portable ammo it would end up being used mostly with the use of the tripod. The BAR''s low ammo magazine size contributed negatively for its intended use.

    • @liquidknives6275
      @liquidknives6275 7 лет назад +2

      Undead Unicorn Pluss the accuracy by hip fire is too much for me to be realistic as a lmg. They should buff the damage but lower hip fire accuracy.

    the sound is spot on, I don't know how they did, but I've watched a video of the British war museum and they did film a original MP-18 shooting, it sounds pretty much like that, I think they used the MP-21 or MP-28 to record, which are exactly the same, both are slightly converted versions of the original MP-18 (this is why it is so rare), you can even make it return to what it was if you have one.

      AK2012 is completely fictional gun only in Metro series. AK-12 from BF or other games is a real life gun slowly being implemented into russian armament replacing older AK derivation (akm, ak-74 etc.). Only thing they have in common is "AK" and "12" in their names.

    Subbing for weapon wars, unfortunately living in the UK my access to real firearms is severely limited however I still find this stuff really interesting; especially bolt action rifles (late 19th century to early 20th century)and early sub machine guns, as opposed to modern automatic weapons such as the AR 15.

      also you didn't mention weapon mechanics: how loadin bullets works for example, in bf1 pretty much every gun except th m95 load exactly as they would in real life, with distinction between open and closed bolt guns too.

    • @TheBeardedMitchGaming
      @TheBeardedMitchGaming  7 лет назад

      It was definitely a balancing decision. Like I said I judged the weapons in their world and looked at how that reflects the real world mp18.
      EA Dice had to create a massive game that supported balance play. So, while most objects they put in this world existed during the WW1 time frame; they did a lot of mixing and matching which is just not accurate. It’s still a fun game for a lot of people though!

    For some reason you showed up In my feed, but I'm glad you did cause I can see this series going somewhere. I recommend putting more of a presence to your voice, compartmentalizing and categorizing the different parts of your review, shortening and sweetening each category, and plainly choosing the winner of a category instead of using a 5 star system.
    I also recommend comparing both runners against their real life model as the goal to Reach, then comparing the 2 In different categories to see which one "wins". To showcase the real weapons, I recommend reaching out to other RUclips channels who specialize in showcasing and/Or shooting these weapons, and using their footage as a real example. (Maybe you could set up a partnership or guest star deal with one of the larger gun channels? Profit!)
    All in all, pretty good video; But a bit long, quiet, and dry.

    We all do respect, but in bf1 it can be presumed that the soldiers the players play as are not just "regular" soldiers. Not only can it be seen with their resources, such as tanks, but also by the gold buttons on their cuffs. As a result maybe it is acceptable to see them using expensive and experimental gear.

    Someone added this gun to Fallout 4 called the Defense Gun. You can change/modify it in a lot of ways, it can even turn into a "Sten" based on what you add/remove from it. The Max Upgraded version of it, looks pure MP18 though. Pretty much the mod adds a Gun to Fallout 4 that can turn into the MP18, or SPGs similar to the MP18, ie copies of the MP18.

    Battlefield 1 really started getting fun to me, when I hit max rank on everything, and kept using only weapons from the factions I'm playing as, it gives much more variety and different ecperiences. I am just waiting for a gamemode or custom game option, combined with a map, that allows for much more true combat, and I wouldn't mind them taking notes from Verdun at all. The only thing I can say that differs these weapons alot is Verdun's stiff movement all around, and the sound as adressed in the video.

    @daru_klas 7 лет назад +8

    for this series to be successful you need to reevaluate your criteria. Why is accuracy something that needs comparing? Not historical accuracy, but just accuracy? It's kind of the odd one out in your criteria. If you're going to talk about accuracy then why not damage, handling, reload speed, etc?
    Also, when you go into historical accuracy and then completely ignore the most obvious factors, such as the way the gun is held, it takes away from any validity. The whole "since when is this a thing" argument is bullshit too. Either present evidence or don't bring it up.
    There's potential here, but work on your criteria, make sure your information is presented in a logical and structured method, and don't waste time on irrelevant points.

    I would suggest to do some shots of the two guns side by side while comparing things. I know you want to focus on both guns in their own section but maybe on the second one doing shots back to the other gun sounds/looks/accessibility would be good. For instance when you were test firing the MP18 for sound in BF1, a little snippet of the MP18 in Verdun firing after to compare would be nice.

      @someweeb3650 7 лет назад +2

      The Bearded Mitch The dirt, wear and tear, etc. also weren't from the factory, and i'm pretty sure the drum mag was also seperate, as it came with 8 round magazines for the pistol they were using at the time.

    • @pokefreak480
      @pokefreak480 7 лет назад +2

      False equivalency, dirt, wear and tear, etc. aren't something you put on the weapon. Also, the 32 round TM 08 mag for the MP 18 was issued with the weapon, however the 8 round pistol magazine was also compatible.

    • @someweeb3650
      @someweeb3650 7 лет назад

      Nani Sore No, I remember hearing that the drum was originally made for the pistol, and the 8 round was what came with the MP18. Like how if you buy an AUG you get the 30 round mag and not the 42 round mag, unless you buy the 42 round mag.

    • @pokefreak480
      @pokefreak480 7 лет назад +1

      Some Weeb What you're thinking of is the Lange Pistole 08, or the Artillery Luger, which was made for German artillerymen to defend themselves. The 8 round and 32 round magazines were compatible with it. That said I'd like to correct myself on my earlier statement. After looking into a bit more, the MP 18 is not compatible with 8 round pistol magazines, any pictures you see of an MP 18 with straight box magazines are post world war 1 variants where it has a 20 or 30 straight box magazine, during World War 1 the MP 18 was only issued with the TM 08 32 round drum magazine.

  • @dylanlowers5236
    @dylanlowers5236 7 лет назад

    I think for future episodes you could compare each game's gun together for each category, and then recap at the end, like you could compare how accurate the MP-18 is in BF1 and Verdun back to back, then move to the next category. Otherwise, viewers will forget what you were talking about. Plus it would probably help shorten the video a bit, not that length is a problem.

    • @theflyingdutchman167

      Stealthygunner X The dislikes are probably from Verdun players telling everybody how historically accurate their game is and how awesome it is while other people don't care because it is not their cup of tea. Meanwhile the Verdun player (not everyone of you luckily) stays on his high horse, sees his God being compared to a game in a similar setting and gets offended it.
      Yes Verdun is far more historically accurate, but it is a video game. A video game is supposed to be fun in which aspect Battlefield absolutely trumps Verdun. You want historical accuracy, read a book about WWI or wait for a very good story mode for a ww1 game, not just 9v9 battles

    Just by looking at the sights of the gun, getting a sense of its recoil and cumbersome nature to most soldiers who were new to SMGs, you can tell that Battlefield 1 cannot hold a candle when compared to Verdun.
    This is true all across the board. Verdun has wonderful core-gameplay which is makes for a much better outline of the First World War. Battlefield 1 is nothing but fancy graphics, some senseless glitz to take focus away from the truly important stuff by purveying an utterly useless array of attachments and gun models that shouldn't be there in the first place, when the sights, recoil, feel and ballistics of the guns are all over the place...
    If you need a true game, go for Verdun or Day of Infamy or Rising Storm... otherwise, go fun yourself in some arcade slum.
