Grant I'm sorry your not really making any sense what your telling him.. You seem to have good intent but your just lacking some knowledge which is normal for someone your age... If your wanting his spine to go into extension there is a sequence to that.. you can't just tell him to make a bigger swing it's not how people make changes.. I would bet that Tig is not understanding how to fully turn his torso which is why when he gets quick it goes low and left. A better que would be that he needs to fully wind his right oblique around him which will also cause him to go into extension once he's at end range.

@@benmartinez8995 the lacking knowledge part is wrong and my age has nothing to do with it. I understand what your saying but I keep the terminology very simple. Tig knows how to load his weight and oblique hence him hitting it 350. We wanted to add extension in the spine and making a “longer swing” naturally increased his load and turn. Not more complex then that

Grant is an absolute legend. For as young as he is, his knowledge of the golf swing is unbelievable. He also has an extremely rare gift of being able to explain things in easy to understand ways. I love Grant, he’s who got me watching Good Good ironically. I love that you don’t let your pride get in the way of improving your game, just because you might be a better player than someone doesn’t mean they have nothing to offer or contribute to your game. It’s cool seeing you guys work together and making actual progress. Grants understanding of the swing is up there with Tour instructors in my opinion, he loves the swing and the art of it and studies it like it’s his day job. Now I’ll get off Grants nuts for a minute and say I can’t wait to see you back out there hitting the driver with consistency because your numbers are actually so crazy. I think it comes down to genetics and anatomy, you might be the perfect anatomical golfer, I’d be curious what a professor of anatomy and physiology says about why you’re able to produce so much speed. It’s deeper than just you’re a strong guy, obviously you’re strong, but there’s way stronger guys that can’t get the ball speed of Steve relatively speaking you're a freak.

I was doing the same thing, until today. I was too closed at the top, not allowing enough forearm rotation, and extension on my backswing. I experimented with letting the forearms rotate the club a bit more open as I reached the top. The freedom of movement felt amazing, and I was hitting it very straight, with maybe a 3 yard draw. I also struck my irons much better too. It was allowing me to get through the ball better. It honestly feels exactly like Grant n Tig described it…. More free, and not restricted. Outstanding video, guys. Shot 3 over today. Holed out from 165 on the last hole, for an eagle on a long par 4, after one of my worst drives of the day. lol. I really love to see this! I have noticed the same thing with his swing. He needs to just remember to get on his left side. God if starts dominating with that driver its lights out. I think he should keep doing lessons with grant.

19:57 right on Grant. Tig does a reverse Jack Nicklaus. It closes his shoulders leading to an outside takeaway. Have him watch some Jack shots and get his head moving away from the target to open his shoulders and increase that turn!
