      I do wish I had glazed on some volupus pink to the more prominent stitched up scars and around scarring where his exhaust and prosthetic leg connect. I might still see if I can because I agree it would add a bit more punch to those details!

    Looking at this mini, I may want to get two and convert the White Squig into a really FAT Cold One for a Dark Elf (Druchii) Lord. Just need to cut off those mechanical bitz and then add some forelegs/arms and some Green Stuff scales. Thanks for the inspirations your videos give me.
    PS - if ya wants yer squig ta go fasta, den ya needz to add some RED, becuz red makes things go FASTA!

  • @d_squared6942
    @d_squared6942 Год назад

    I really like your more blue-ish take on the great white color scheme-- the darker upper surfaces really look great and much less anemic than the box art version. On an unrelated note, I found it interesting that you--or your producer-- felt the need to "augment" your chest via Photoshop or whatever for the photo in the teaser slide for this video. Perhaps that gets more clicks?? Maybe people don't notice those kinds of details.....

  • @ausdoz8374
    @ausdoz8374 2 года назад +1

    Really enjoyed watching this squig and I’ve been trying those colours out. I’ve hit a snag with the drakenhoff nightshade drying really quickly in some places and causing mottling or splotches. Should I have diluted it down with (more) water or a medium, or because I’m applying with too small a brush (shade M citadel in this case)? I went back and noticed your shade brush was much bigger…

    • @HobbyNight
      @HobbyNight  2 года назад +1

      I would try adding more water next time, because sometimes the dark colors can stain more. If that doesn't improve the flow enough, I have added Contrast Medium to my Shades with excellent results, so maybe try that!
      Also, yes, use a large brush, you want the bristols of your brush to be saturated with paint, that way it stays wet for as long as possible while you move it around a model. Plus, you can always soak back up any pooling a lot more easily than adding more paint to an already dried section.

    • @ausdoz8374
      @ausdoz8374 2 года назад

      @@HobbyNight so you recommend contrast medium over lahmian medium for this approach? I’m only a year into the hobby so still working on techniques and any particularly additives.

    • @HobbyNight
      @HobbyNight  2 года назад

      I think they are pretty similar so you can really use either. But I use contrast medium because I tend to keep it on hand more than I do Lahmian Medium.
