If security had stopped him and the metal detector had found some generic / non hazardous piece of metal, he would have claimed ism and sued the school for profiling.
It's not complacency or human error. At best it's contempt for the rules, at worst it's aiding and abetting. Like the propped open door in Uvalde. An investigation of the people responsible for monitoring the metal detectors is in order.
