You just saved me $300 with this.
The ohm Meyer read just under 5ohms.
I disassembled the piece, and it wasn't working because the two halves that screw together weren't together. They were 0.200 apart, so the enrichment circuit would never open.

Shane, Thank you. I just got a used Honda Metro which was flithy. I cleaned the carb and its working well, but I couldn't figure out why the bike would rev so high when I first started (five minutes at 40 degrees outside), then It would idle down perfectly. It's suppose to do that. Thanks so much.

He is just returning from an extended stay in Japan training students this winter. You can imagine how full his inbox is. We are just the social media team.

All member tech questions like this get directly forwarded to him every day! Be mindful and honest that this is for "quick questions" that would serve you answers that can clearly be addressed. I have a small quad and the choke isn’t connected to a power source( was rigged by prior owner). If the choke is open, leaving the port open, allowing an easy start, will it effect how the motor runs at WOT as the needle isn’t closing?

    • @WaveAction777
      @WaveAction777 5 лет назад

No it won't because power to choke is from the bikes stator, unless the bike is running, there is no voltage to it even with key in on position.

    A question please:
The E-choke starts receiving 12Volts current inertia when the engine is running.
After the current (12 volts) is maintained while the engine is running, or some system switches off the current E-choke ???

I'm the intern studying under Shane. He's on the road training techs and not here to ask this week. I fInally made it to your comment going down the list...just an FYI...he literally logs in and answers member questions daily! Consider joining...best $1.99 you'll spend this month 😁
One of these days I hope to move from the office to the shop! Wish I knew the answer but don't want to bs you. He couldn't screen these requests fast enough...
He has a few other tricks up his sleeve he plans on making videos on. If you need help sooner choose and option below!
That’s a great question for Shane directly! We are just the social media team. Shane does answer questions when he get's back around to non members eventually so hang tight, FYI >>>> he does member ones daily!
He just returned from overseas training techs and his inbox is slammed with requests. He is scheduling time each day again to answer techline orders. He does not have the bandwidth to provide free email replies as his schedule is full with shop customers, training schedules, and one on ones.
There's good news though! Shane has 2 solutions for you. One is a deep dive one-on-one with him with video, email and phone support. The other is a "quick fan support" option when it's a quick answer and just helps support the time for him to stop wrenching or training and get you in the direction that a free video had you close. Links to each are below. Hope this message makes sense to you as a decent human being that also works for a living and gets it!
      Make it a great day!

my bike wont start , take off the air box dump a bit of fuel in there, it starts and will continue to start all day . next morning wont start . . .it is a yamaha nouvu 2 , its getting fuel to the carb (fuel line off ,crank the engine, fuel comes out) . strange thing is once i get it started it runs all day fine , starts no problem. but if it sits for more than 12 hours. it will start for a second then die and will not start for anything . .until i pour a bit of gas where the air box connects. i thought if i understood carbs with these symptoms the problem would be obvious. but perhaps not

Just another over-engineered screw-up by Honda. Just give us a manual choke which works every time and forever. Instead, just an expensive stupid way to do something otherwise very simple. It's a $75 part! But nice job on the video.
