I think that we can all agree that this kid will never have trouble getting a girlfriend, lol. But in all seriousness, he really is a hero for saving the little boy's life.
yeah he will, he's not this attractive anymore lol, I talked to him before when I found out about his story and idk what the heck happened to him after this show but he got a little chubbier and idk you'd probably expect him to be fit and stuff but nope
Very brave for his age. I always watch Ellen to restore faith in humanity. Love how Ellen always support good people to be the example for everyone to do good things.
Rin Ackerman Why ? You don't have to do big things to prove that you are a good person, even smiling at a stranger that looks sad could make a huge difference to their life
Cécile Kaam First of all Shutterfly gave him 10 000 USD, not the people that gave him the tickets, so WHY are you comparing one to the other? I am not saying 10 000 is nothing, yes that's a lot of money, BUT they are 2 different institutions. What do you think happened? The guys that were giving the tickets were thinking " Hey I bet he gets 10 000 USD on the top of our gift, so 1 game is more than enough for him "? Do you think THAT happened? NO! One of the gifts have NOTHING to do with the other. It's like Bill Gates gives someone 10 USD and then Ellen gives that same person 10 000 USD and you say "Hey that gift from Bill Gates was AMAZING" No it wasn't! How many 14 years old do you know that will rush into a burning building to save someone? You know that they OWN the stadium right? VIP or not VIP tickets, they don't cost almost nothing for the owner.
OMG calm down why do you even care so much? I didn't compare anyone, I just said "they". I don't know who owns the stadium I don't care. But $10,000 and a VIP ticket + meeting the team is a great gift already. Don't need to get greedy
Cécile Kaam Because my comment is related to the Tickets gift and everyone is saying HEY they gave him 10 000... I KNOW I am not blind or deaf... I am saying the people that gave the tickets could of done more that's all, because regardless of him getting 10 000 or not, their gift would still be ONLY ONE GAME. Get it?
what im saying is the dad tried to get him out that's why he was coughing and covered in soot.We don't even know how old Cody was and he was most likely terrified of the fire and most kids reactions is to lock their doors and hide.So yeah the dad left his son but im sure he was doing everything he possibly could that's most likely the reason the grandma had the ladder. So next time u criticize a person think about what was happening and try to picture yourself in their situation
+Agent Washington Pray your time never comes, saving someone from a dire situation usually means leaving someone else. The hero principle is making a choice, chasing something else is a dangerous route.
It's amazing it takes a kid to show adults how to act sometimes. No telling how long the house had already been on fire and how many adults Just watched in stead of acting with their heart! You are a great kid!
"So i turned my head more and i'm like "wait dad , the house is on fire!!!" So we ran over, and that is when we found out that the house was on fire." this kid-2012
Kashief Mc Why's it matter? He's still good looking, it doesn't matter if he's chubby or whatever. He saved a life, he's nice and funny, and he's cute. If he's chubby it seriously doesn't matter, stop commenting that everywhere.. he's a good person, stop trying to ruin people's opinion of him!
It's phenomenal that bravery is still so passionate in our world. I believe in helping thy neighbor, struggling with thy brothers and sisters. Learn something from these videos that Ellen shares, because she is telling a story. She is brilliant and such a positive influence on our society. I have many many many times offered my last dollar or even my coat in a blizzard to a homeless man as a youth, but these are just natural things to do right haven't we all done this? We should be proud of those who help others and encourage strength for which today is yesterday and tomorrow is today :)
Ellen I love you. You are such and amazing person with huge heart and your kindness. I love to watch your show and I think people should learn I real definition of kindness from you and your show. Every episode of your show inspire me a lot gradually. Bless you and love you 😊❤️❤️❤️❤️
Max Lewis For my dad no he didn’t but for me I’m gonna say yes but he did not when he left the same time that Mom left and I want to talk to talk to about this kind of stuff I’m just not sure I’m ready and I know that I am a talk about it or same time it’s hard sometimes sometimes if you let it go sometimes you can’t like I would do it sometimes does not all the time out to easy
this is how I would save someone from a fire, wrap a wet cloth around my face, superman kick the door down(doesn't matter if it's locked or not) look for the person trapped(usually they would be stuck on the second floor) grab that person and carry them, do an awesome action jump to the first floor from the second floor, run outside put the person down and disappear into the crowd and go about my business like a G.
I would do a triple somersault break the window mid air with my feet, land, pivot grab the kid and do a triple backflip into my maserati, one hand throw him landing him safely in the emergency room, quadruple cartwheel spin flip yy wall bang no scope right into my ferrari and drive off.
My realistic version of this: Wrap wet cloth around face, realize I can't breath after I wrap it around my face so I tear it off in a few seconds. I attempt to Superman kick door down, not strong enough with improper technique and knee jams up. Check door and realize it was unlocked already. Look for trapped person, and after vigorous searching I can't find him. Then after giving up I attempt to leave and trip on their unconscious body that I somehow missed. I pick them up, but they are actually very heavy so you have to move slowly and also my knee hurts so I limp all the way. I attempt to action jump to the first floor, but I can't get any air off my jump due to my knee injury and the weight of the person, so I end up just falling off and landing hard on the second floor. I still manage to summon the strength to get up and lift the unconscious person. I head for the exit slowly, and leave burning building. I put the person down, and then awkwardly limp into the crowd and try to go about my business, but faint and knock over everyone via domino effect.
omg thats awesome that him and his dad were there cant imagine what was going through the parents heads but i never owuld have left my child in a burning house i would do anything to get them out even if it meant me dieing but u dont know whats going through peoples minds i guess......plus can i just add not only was this guy so awesome as to save that little boy....hes cute too!!! omg!! lol i think he will do great things i like how he wants to be a fire fighter too now :) thats awesome!!
Alaa Atari yeah i guess but i think i in that position would have attempted to break the door down...u know the whole sprint and slam your shoulder with all your weight into the door a couple times thing but u never know what they tried to get the kid out.....so i cant say they didnt try but i can see where your coming from yeah im just saying in my postsion if all else failed i might have made like who ever else was in the house in that case the dad to go out and get help while i kept trying but u never know right? cuz its like people all react to situations differently.... but i do agree with u
Persia Baha Possibly, but I don't think you would have the strength if smoke was coming into your lungs as you try to beat the door down and it was burning hot in there.
Brenda Nguyen yeah but i would still try like im not arguing i totally understand but ya know i would still want to keep trying if i had another person who could get out and get help i would stay in and keep trying but u never know right given circumstances
Very. brave. young guy save the little boy his home on fire he is very good kind young guy thank you for sharing your beautiful story thanks for sharing. Bless you all
Am I only one questioning the boys (in the building not the 14 yr old) parents?! I would have done ANYTHING to save my child in a burning building. I'm not saying they aren't good parents because thank God I've never been in a situation like that so I don't know the emotions you feel but it seems like they just gave up and then depended on the boy and his father to save Cody
Some parents do that. It's sad and shows priorities. But think of it this way, least they didn't grab some possessions and leave the kid. They just got out and left him.
Even if you're a parent or not, sometimes in a situation like that your survival instincts kick in and your mind is suddenly clouded with the thought "I have to get out NOW". So you're not really thinking about anything else besides making sure you get out alive.
The dad the little boys dad tried to get the kid. The 14 year ild said that in the start he came from upstairs and all he could say was son. He was covered in shut and coughing. The kids grandma had a latter so I am thinking the little boys family was going to try to climb up and get him. Maybe they were to weak or hurt to bad or the teenager got there first.
Him: I haven’t called 911 before, what should I say? His Dad: You’re calling the Firefighters about the neighbor’s house being on fire not talking to a girl for the first time!!!
No, I think she is right, Ellen should make a spinoff show just for people who save others in fires. Call it The Ellen Show: Firemen (or women). No but in all honesty, he's right, there isn't enough time in the day to celebrate all the "heros' and plus this kid is 14, or like 16 now. Please, I appreciate your need to want to honor everyone, but really just be thankful someone is being honored, especially someone who wasn't on their local firefighter pay.
I think we all want to be called a hero for doing something by saving someone else's life, but nothing really exciting or dangerous happens. I mean, I've always thought about how I would react when I would see someone drowning, or like this guy, in a burning building, but you can't really know for sure how you'd react unless it's really happening and you're there.
You can be a hero in every day situations. Be aware of your surroundings. Take a real look at the people you pass on the street, and be willing to take a chance and step up. I drove past a very old man walking in the Florida heat. I pulled over, and found out he was a 92 year old WWII Vet thinking he could walk 7 miles to his destination. There was no way he could have made it. I've been blown off, but also had gracious thanks from people who didn't even need my help. They were just so amazed I even asked. You have to just ask, or you'll never know if you did the right thing. Buildings on fire don't happen every day, but human need and kindness does.
Kids can really make the stupidest decisions sometimes. The house is on fire You can barely breathe normally What do you do? Lock yourself in your room
Time for me to save a kid now let me start a house on fire and then save the family members and film it so I can get 10,000 dollars kk see yall on Ellen

I think that we can all agree that this kid will never have trouble getting a girlfriend, lol. But in all seriousness, he really is a hero for saving the little boy's life.
but will he have trouble getting a HOT one?
yeah he will, he's not this attractive anymore lol, I talked to him before when I found out about his story and idk what the heck happened to him after this show but he got a little chubbier and idk you'd probably expect him to be fit and stuff but nope
Ben Draws yeah that essay was unnecessary, I didn't even read pass the first line considering it's a BOY in the video.

I stopped a kid from getting his head stomped.
That was really brave of him to save a kid he was putting his other people's lives before his. How sweet!

Don't forget the part about the entire building exploding behind you as you're flying through the air after jumping out of the window.
You'd get to the "kick the door down" part, after which you'd burn to death from the explosion caused by the change in pressure.
Gurj Buttz You've made my fucking day with that comment.

true ....
How does an 8 year old "accidentally" lock himself IN his room. While the parents are leaving the house. I wouldve Broken that door down.
Him: I haven’t called 911 before, what should I say?
His Dad: You’re calling the Firefighters about the neighbor’s house being on fire not talking to a girl for the first time!!!
Nice kid - I wish him all the best and he would be an awesome firefighter - 14 years old what courage and bravery.......
People save kids from the fire everyday . Why aren't they acknowledged? Why aren't they on Ellen?
Umm cuz people don't save kids from fires everyday, or it's their job to do so, and they get payed for it. No need to have a social activist tone lol
Well for someone who isn't qualified or have the right gear to do a fire rescue is quite amazing… most people would pussy out.
I can't even flip tortillas
I just love that ❤️💕. What a brave young man!!
