  • Feta is a soft, white, brined cheese that was originally part of the Mediterranean cuisine. It's used in all sorts of dishes, from appetizers to desserts. But is it healthy or not, let's take a look.

      To work at the Feta Cheese factory it is required to have stinky feet if you want to

    Feta helped me to fix my digestion. I thought I was becoming lactose intolerant but it seems I only needed some feta in my diet.

    Thanks for the informative video. I have cut back a lot on diary foods such as cheddar and now opting for Feta.
    It's one of those foods are beneficial but best to have in small quantities to mitigate the sodium RDI levels.
    Small cubes of feta go well with salad and a drizzle of olive oil.

      I do know that they sell gyro plates with onions, tomato, feta cheese, olives, and sour cream at some
      local restaurants here in Chicago, IL. Great combination. Gyros taste amazing!!!

    Thank you for the information supporting feta cheese! It adds major flavor to my salmon salad! (I use shredded carrots and spinach together, add avocado, lemon juice and then feta cheese and nuts on top. Delicious!)

      Add a boiled egg because you have avocado. Egg and avocado eaten together gives one more health benefits. Look it up.👍

    Lactose problem over here. I would love to eat it but I just eat aged cheeses with no lactose. Thanks for the info.

    I think your videos are typically right on the money. But just one thing I noticed, while you are reading off the nutritional facts for a "serving", you say for 1 oz (28 g), and then you read the nutritional facts for 1 oz. However above it, you have written "in a single 100 gram (3.5 oz) serving:" with the 1 oz serving nutrition facts below it, it is misleading. Some people might think that is the nutritional facts for 100 g, not 28 g. Just saying.

    Εverything true, except listeria, which is extremely unlikely if you buy your feta from a licenced producer and food store. So many years living in Greece, the heart of feta produce, and i never so far heard of any incident of listeria caused by eating feta cheece.

    Great video.. I think there is a little mistake on the second slide. The nutritional analysis for the cheese corresponds to 28 g or 1 oz of cheese whereas the slide says 100g (3.5 oz). People might mistake that 100 g of feta is worth only 74 cal! Hope it helped!

    What type of milk protein is in feta? Including cow’s milk feta, which is the majority of feta sold in my country. I am allergic to some milk proteins but not all.

      Most of the carbs in dairy is lactose, which is considered a simple carbohydrate. However, it does not contain any fructose, which makes it much more gut friendly compared to the most common forms of "simple carbs".

    The amount of milk in cheese is the same volume as the size of the cheese which is small. So cheese is definitely tasty but not so nutritios as milk we drink.

    White brine cheese ( what greeks call ) Feta is not a Greek invention! It originated from the Balkans which includes many other countries like Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Albania, Bosnia etc.... That's like saying that Italians invented dough just because they are famous for their pizza...

    im on keto and they say one of the best cheeses to eat is feta. i hate feta. its disgusting. but im eating it anyway cause i think its healthy. if i put it im my ranch salad i can barely taste it though.

      Milk is something that you get from nature as is. Cheese is a recipe! You cook milk with other ingredients to get cheese. So yeah THIS cheese is greek!
