  • I was asked to slow things down so I did.
    Hopefully this will assist anyone looking to put the Vanquish Products VFD transmission into the Axial Adventure SCX10III platform.
    I already did the conversion on the CJ7 model so I wanted to verify body fitment on the Early Bronco as well. 100% success.
    This will also work on a Basecamp platform as well since they use the same skid plate
    I bought the VFD from a well known RC breaker of vanquish kits and RTR’s for much less than retail.
    I printed the file I purchased from Josh Thiede at Harley Designs website on my Bamboo Labs X1C printer with their brand PETG in Green.

    Glad you printed the parts in green so we can see what’s going on. Great video! I hope to see it out on the trail once we defrost.

    The Milwaukee is all I use as well. This is a mod I wanna do, just need to find someone with a printer.

    I'm building a YJ using a mashigan body on an early Bronco chassis slider that I got off eBay. My plan was a VFD Twin, but after getting one I noticed it doesn't clear the floor pan of the YJ like the stock SCX 3 tranny. So, I guess the VFD twin is going into another project. I'm not a fan of the SCX tranny but I also don't want to cut the floor of the YJ. Looks like the regular VFD would have similar clearance issues.

      That sounds like a cool project!

    Right on more detailed install 👍🏽👍🏽…. Did you try if you can keep the 2-speed mod with the vfd trans?

    • @ateaserc
      @ateaserc  7 месяцев назад

      Two speed isn’t available in the VFD?? Did you mean dig? If so I’m not sure

      I thought VS410 (phoenix/fordyce) VFD transmissions has optional 2spd and dig. SBG had a review on it last year I think.

      The VFD twin has dig and selectable front overdrive, not 2 speed the standard VFD had neither and like 6% front overdrive

    Awesome swap 👍 I'm considering the same, but with their twin transmission. Do you think it will fit too? 🙂

      Twin is a different animal but being clever with shifting servo placement I’m sure it could be accomplished

    Interesting swap, would you keep the (lcxu) in the k10 10.3 or leave it? Just curious on your reason for doing this? Very cool!! 👍

      If you want an adjustable over drive ratio capable transmission and a lower center of gravity then this is one solution to get those things. The Jeep and Bronco have a high center of gravity due to the scale body’s so this is a way to offset that.

    Would you be willing to sell these printed parts? Great video!

      I cannot. You can purchase the file from Harley Designs and have someone print them for you.

    I can get a second hand vfd from a friends, it's the one with two servos. Is that the right vfd or do you need the one without those options. Looking to mount it in my Bronco as well.

    • @ateaserc
      @ateaserc  4 месяца назад +1

      The twin mounts differently and will not work the same as the VFD in the 10iii
