He might've. I would be led to think he used his bass trombone at 1:30, though that isn't on film. Same for the tambourine, and the simultaneous octaves at 1:00
Christopher Bill, you are truly an inspiration to all trombonists. Also, how do you get such clarity on those high notes? Anyway, nice job, and thank you for your determination into making entertainment for your fans.
Hi Christopher!! I'm a 7th grader and I've been watching you for a while and with the support I got 4 th chair on trombone in the district. I also joined the marching band high school band and jazz band in 7th grade! And we got state at marching so far which we've never done befire thanks for the great trombone solos it inspired me to do more trombone solos
ImaRawrrr sometimes if the middle schooler is much more advanced than the rest of the class they will allow them to move up. Mostly happens in smaller schools with small bands. I did it when i was in school.
AshleyNdElden I go to straub I'm an 8th grader at my school this is in the capital of Oregon so not just small towns and in the marching band it doesn't matter your skill level because it's a requirement to be in because of that and how hard we work we get first in every competition I'm first chair tuba/sousaphone by the way
When I started middle school I was having a really hard time trying to pick an instrument. I tried trombone and thought it was cool but I still wasn't sure, until my mom showed be the let it go cover u did and I fell in love with the trombone! Thank you so much for inspiring me and it's my 2nd year with trombone and I love it! ❤️
Oh my word Chris, you've been inspiring me for a while and I've already used your ideas to do a Viva la Vida live loop at my school concert last year- now I've got this year's entry sorted, insane mate...
What type of trombone is he playing on the video? I am planning to buy a tenor with a trigger, but I know way more about playing trombone than trombones themselves.
Simon he was playing a tenor trombone with a Thayer valve. that kind of valve produces better flow but it takes a lot more maintenance to stay smooth. a rotatary valve is much more abundant and the exact opposite it try if them. They are very easy to maintain but inhibit flow a little more. I have a tener with a rotary valve and a bass with two Thayers, the bass produces much better sound than the bass I used to play that had two rotary valves. if you are looking at a trigger for lower notes, Thayer would work good for tone and ease of use while playing, but rotary valves would be better for higher up notes.
Thank you for explaining. Personally I like playing low register notes and rarely use the trigger for the high register. The thayer valve is what I think I would like the most. Do you know what model he is playing on in the video?
How are these not getting 100s of thousands of views? it makes no sense. even people who don't like the sound of trombones have to admit that this is really good
You are amazing! You are my inspiration for band! I play trombone and in September I will be in my school's intermediate and jazz band! You have given me courage to be the only girl trombonist! Thanks You so much for being my inspiration!!!
hello! i am a person who is determined to be as good as you one day, you see, this school year, i started the trombone , and its been one heck of a year so far, and you truly inspire me, thankyou, Christopher: )
Christopher Bill you are a massive inspiration in my trombone career. Thank you for making these videos and keep at it. Your great. I wish I could learn from you in person. I've watched all your videos and thanks for the looping demo, I'm interested in learning how to loop and maybe do one for my school. I'm entering my freshmen this next school year. My current band teacher majors on trombone. He is also a great inspiration to me. Anyway, thanks for your time and effort in these videos. Your my favorite trombonist.
Hello! I play trombone, and i'm in school band! You inspired me too start playing an instrament! At first i wanted to play clarinet, but i wasn't good at it. Next i tried trumpet, and turns out im not the best at that either. (But my friend is). And then my music teacher gave me a trombone, and i was decent at it! My friends sorta make fun of me (since they play the barrentone and trumpet, guitar etc.) But i just laugh. You inspire me to keep playing the trombone! Thank you!!
Hi! I'm a trombonist and I've been watching you for a long time. You have been my inspiration. Thank you so much for the amazing content and please continue ❤
Big fan, Christopher. I have a question. I am curious as to what brand and size mouthpiece you use. I play a lot of first trombone and I play well above the staff, but I am looking to upgrade to help with my range. I like my Schilke 51, but I would like to make an upgrade. Just wondering if you use a shallower mouthpiece for your range and if so, what do you recommend? thanks!
+Christopher Bill I am a junior in high school. I'm a drum major and play first trombone for my marching band. I'm also in jazz band, concert band (both trombone), and steel band. (Basses, if anyone cares). I've been watching you for around a year now and I'd say that this song is one of my favorites thus far. I wanted to know if you would be making any more tutorial videos in the upcoming future. I'm having trouble extending my range, and as first trombone, it's pretty important that I can hit high. Thanks.
You inspire me I listen to just 1 video and I think man I want to be him! Then I watch another video and that process repeats thank you for this inspiration! ;)
You are TRULY AMAZING!! I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, KEEP IT UP DUDE! Also, I play the euphonium and I've played trombone before. BUT those high note are INSANE! You have a gift, and your for sure using! :) Especially by not only helping others, but by pleasing/impressing us too!
How do you play those high notes? Can you give me any tips? Everytime I try I just get lightheaded after a while. I'm in eighth grade and have been playing the trombone since sixth grade.
One thing you can try, I don’t recommend sustained use, you can push the mouthpiece just slightly into your face. I don’t recommend sustained use of it though because it hurts after awhile. The proper technique is to tighten your lips and blow fast air
Hello Christopher Bill, friend you are Fantastic, a question as it is called that program that you have in the computer ?, it is the one that you use to mix the sounds that you did.
Jacob Carter I don't know about his actual reasoning, but I think if you can hit the high notes well enough on the tenor, it's more worth it. And it's easier not to switch haha
Do you have any exercises to improve tone quality? Also, what kind of trombone do you use? I’ve started looking into professional trombones and have kind of settled on a conn 88ho, what do you think?
So still no one has made this clear to me, this might be a really stupid question but is a bass trombone mouthpiece the same size as a tuba mouthpiece? Or is it the same as a tenor trombone mouthpiece?
THOSE HIGH NOTES ARE INSANE MAN! How is that even possible???
Considering Chris has an Alto trombone, he gets lots of practice in the upper stratospheric range.
He might've. I would be led to think he used his bass trombone at 1:30, though that isn't on film. Same for the tambourine, and the simultaneous octaves at 1:00
I'm definite Chris only used his Bach 42 in this video.
Musical Endeavors the octaves at 1:00 are created from his looper live, there is no second pre recorded track
Brush I do that shit ever day, double F's and triples A's fuckin nothing.
Christopher Bill, you are truly an inspiration to all trombonists. Also, how do you get such clarity on those high notes? Anyway, nice job, and thank you for your determination into making entertainment for your fans.
Claw of the Raven 18 and I'm here a euphonium player
Cornel Botnaru I also believe that the euphonium is a cool instrument. I, as a matter is fact, play both the trombone and euphonium.
Same! I have to play a solo soon and no matter how much I practice, the super high notes always sound splattery. How?!
Adrianna I would recommend to just be patient and keep practicing. You are your most valuable asset. Try to exercise your lips too, maybe.
Claw of the Raven 18 nah
That's not a trombone! That's some magical trombone, flute tuba hybrid thing! Wizardry I say WIZARDRY!
It’s an alto I think
It's actually a tenor
Actually a tenor trombone, he can actually play an octave higher on his king 2b Wich is a straight tenor trombone.
Maybe he's Harry Pottervin disguise...
I can legit make out the words
Hello Christopher Bill! I love trombone! I am in Jazz 1 and symphonic band in my school. You inspire me!
DegradedLoki coincidence?? me also
That makes three of us, keep it up brothers and sisters!

Hi Christopher!! I'm a 7th grader and I've been watching you for a while and with the support I got 4 th chair on trombone in the district. I also joined the marching band high school band and jazz band in 7th grade! And we got state at marching so far which we've never done befire thanks for the great trombone solos it inspired me to do more trombone solos
how did they let a middle schooler join a HS marching band?
ImaRawrrr sometimes if the middle schooler is much more advanced than the rest of the class they will allow them to move up. Mostly happens in smaller schools with small bands. I did it when i was in school.
AshleyNdElden I go to straub I'm an 8th grader at my school this is in the capital of Oregon so not just small towns and in the marching band it doesn't matter your skill level because it's a requirement to be in because of that and how hard we work we get first in every competition I'm first chair tuba/sousaphone by the way

When I started middle school I was having a really hard time trying to pick an instrument. Flutes want the high notes back!
Cornel Botnaru and you could say the tubas want their pedal notes back
Cornel Botnaru ya I can't fight a trombone for the high notes! We flutes need to stay on top!
Cornel Botnaru
Cornel Botnaru lol yes
Cornel Botnaru as a flute player I agree
This man makes trombone look easy
Do more DCI videos! (Bluecoats 2011 or Carolina crown 2012)!!!
I did an instagram exclusive of Phantom Regiment 2003 ;)
Christopher Bill I'll have to check that out
Oh my word Chris, you've been inspiring me for a while and I've already used your ideas to do a Viva la Vida live loop at my school concert last year- now I've got this year's entry sorted, insane mate...
You HAVE to have more likes than what you have now! I can't believe those high notes at the beginning could be possible... Fantastic job!!!

Christopher Bill vs Trombone Shorty.
would be the Best
Chris would win.
Claw of the Raven 18 maybe?
shorty is better in Jazz and blues.
Christopher in classical songs.
Who would win?
2 completely different players, and music shouldn't be a competition.
would be nice too

i play trumpet, but this is a inspiration to learn trombone too
that's insanely high bro!
Why not play the first loop on your alto trombone? Just curious because those are some pretty high notes!
Jacob Carter I don't know about his actual reasoning, but I think if you can hit the high notes well enough on the tenor, it's more worth it. And it's easier not to switch haha
I want to buy an alto trombone. I'm saving up for a 1052FR Getzen bass trombone that my friend is selling for $1000-1400.
