Absolutely love watching Wil on the show, particularly the episode where he beats Sheldon at the card game (sorry I forget the name of the card game).

Stuart is my favorite. I'm a comic book nerd so it only makes sense. One of the saddest scenes in this show is when Stuart's LCS burns down. That one hit the feels

Though I totally agree with number 1, I don't understand how Beverly and Mary ended up at the bottom of the list.

The treatment of Stewart rubbed me the wrong way. He started off as a decent character that the main cast treated with respect. The other cast quickly started to mistreat him, and as his character was made increasingly pathetic the treatment got worse. The show started with the guys not fitting in and being mistreated by others for being geeks and nerds, so it's disappointing to see them treat others poorly.
Yessss, I rewatched the series and they did raj and him a disservice as the series progressed
Yeah, it's sad but every show has one. This one has Stuart, the Office had Toby, Parks and Rec has Jerry
Late reply, but it was actually said in an interview by the actor. At one point as Penny leaves the store, he mutters "I love you", that was apparently ad libbed and they liked it so much they started writing him in as a very desperate character.
Remember people Stewart had enough game that he could have "gotten with Penny". Until cock blocked.
Sure but I will say for pure comedy I love a character who's peak starts in beginning and you just see them progressively get worse and worse. If you've ever seen always sunny in Philadelphia Stuart reminds me of cricket
How is Mary Cooper #10? She is the best of the supporting characters!!! Definitely #1!
I know right?! Laurie Metcalfe does such a great job as Mary Cooper. Yes she is extremely religious but you know that she still loves Sheldon even though she may not always understand him.
I agree, the love of her character and Missy are the reason we have Young Sheldon.
Maybe it was in order of frequency because there's no other explanation
She is a Christian fanatic so that might have something to do with it.

The best casting was casting Laurie Metcalfe's daughter as Sheldon's mom in Young Sheldon.
They missed Vernee Watson!!!!!! She was there since THE first episode until da end. She played the nurse in practically every season. Plus she was also in young Sheldon.
Kripke is brilliant. He is funny and shows Sheldon up. He is as intelligent, if not more, as Sheldon, without eidetic memory. Pity you did not include Leslie
I believe Sarah Gilbert as Leslie Winkle would have been included had she been in more episodes , the character was wonderfully played.
Imagine Sheldon's life if Leonard hadn't moved in with him. He'd be almost an outcast.

@Christopher Bingham The only problem that would have resulted from going by taxi is that it would have taken a bit more time & money. The dislocation would have been treated in the same way.

Bob Newhart did us such an amazing favor by only agreeing to the role if it was a semi-recurring role. The episodes that he was in were some of my favorite.
Wil Wheaton and Berry Kripke are sill my favorite Supporting characters
Stuart is essentially a main character by the end of the show. I wish him and Denise got into the intro cause they were very regular at the time
When I saw Leonards and Sheldons moms in 9th and 10th place I thought the list was upside down or that I missed part of the list hahahah

Wil Wheaton was always my favorite. He's such a fan of all things sci fi.
Wil Wheaton is definitely my number 1 followed by Barry Kripke - he had me in stitches! Followed by Howard’s Mom! 😂🤣 I’m surprised by Stuart being number one - I always viewed him as one of the main characters!

Wil Wheaton & Professor Proton should be top 2 ...wheaton for the part Sheldon went his home to fight Amy....Proton because he always wonder about Sheldon being dangerous
I like the episode where Mike and Howard are supposed to go fishing where Mike admits that he is also kinda scared of Bernadette.
But I do have a soft spot for Zack because his stupidity makes me laugh.
My favorite sitcom...i feel like missy could've made the honorable mentions
She's not in it often enough to be regarded as a supporting character.
Before this episode I had no idea that Ms Wolowitz first name was Debbie. Thank you for that little bit of trivia.
Without question Bob Newhart! X Mrs. Wildowitz a close second! But I love all the characters of the big bang theory

As a comedy fan (though from the UK) who grew up in the 1970's, I was blown away to see Bob Newhart show up on TBBT. Such an iconic comedian from yesteryear.
No way I could rank these characters. Stuart was almost a regular. The only character I never cared for was Penny' brother. He didn't really seem like a meth dealer to me.
Seems like a disservice not having Steven Hawking on the list

It still bothers me that Stuart managed to find a girl friend but Raj never did
To be fair, the writers did give Raj SMG to sit next to in the final episode.

Bernadette's mother is rarely seen.
@Christopher Bingham She speaks quietly & doesn't say much - the opposite of Bernadette.
@Christopher Bingham The things Bernadette says about her are very inconsistent with her being very quiet & calm when we see her. All I can remember her saying is "it was good" & "if he didn't like it, he wouldn't go".

Haha. I love Stuart and Mrs Wolowitz. Definitely the best support characters.
My two favorite supporting characters are Arthur Jeffries and Will Wheaton. Bob Newhart's personal style often didn't work for me in other performances. It was perfect on his own show, of course, but in other places it didn't seem to be a great fit. Forgive me for failing to remember an example, but the reason is that I am a huge Newhart fan, so coming up with those times when I though his performance was lacking is terribly difficult. But on TBBT he was absolutely perfect!
My other favorite is Will Wheaton. He played a super genius on Star Trek, so bringing him into a show featuring super geniuses was ... genius! Plus, by playing himself he was able to spoof so many things all at the same time; the 'Star Trek versus Star Wars' trope; the 'isn't a genius but plays one on TV' trope; the 'TV star turned regular guy' trope; and the 'this is all for fun' trope, which sorta kinda breaks the fourth wall by emphasizing that TBBT is also a TV show, as was Star Trek. By playing himself, he breaks the fourth wall without even having to look into the camera. Genius!
Zack was my favorite, a genuinly nice guy who just wanted to be friends with the gang but they immediately saw him as competition and started treating him like shit because he was "stupid" and their prejudice towards tall, handsome guys who had every exterior attribute that they lacked
The president of the university and the HR representative should have been in the honorable mention.

Ok, in my opinion Stuart, Professor Proton and Mrs Wolowitz are the top 3 and Leonard and Sheldon's moms should definitely be higher than Zack...in my opinion

Mary Cooper had a point about Superegos and ids. Freudian psychology is mostly discredited today. Someone like Leonard's mother should know that.

I loved Lori Metcalf and Chritine Baranski. Two amazing comic actresses. Brian Posehn was great. Bob Newhart is one of the funniest men ever. Will Wheaton was way funnier than he should have been. But Barry Kripke always had me rolling on the floor.

She wasn't in all that many episodes, but Beverly needs to be higher than 9. Some of the funniest episodes in the series, were ones she was in

I'm a lot like Stewart in that in the story of my life, I feel like a minor supporting character on the sidelines. Either that or seeing the play that is my life play out on the stage, I am somehow the only player in the audience. It's very disconcerting.

She's a great character who should have been in TBBT more. However, she's nowhere near being a supporting character. She's only just about a recurring character.
