You’re definitely not sticking the hooks, I’m betting it’s your rod. I’d use a 7-3” to a 7-6” rod that’s heavy action with a fast tip. Also try bending the hooks out slightly so they stick out from the body just a tad. You can also try shortening up the legs of the frog, I normally trim like a inch of the legs off so the fish don’t short strike the lure.

Hi Logan. Really enjoyed the video. The one thing that I noticed that may have contributed to not being able to land the fish was the handling of the rod. When reeling in, I noticed you kept the rod tip down and away. Try keeping the fishing rod upward in order to maintain strong line tension and also it will allow the hook(s) to maintain a stronger penetrating hook set. It has helped me to increase the catches. I turned my hooks up just a hair and I've been crushing the fish ever since! The bass seem to either grab the legs or swallow it whole it's no halfway bites. So you need the hooks to catch or you'll just yank it clear out of its mouth. I've got about 20 bass now on one frog and it still looks great, very strong!

If you're using mono which is what it looked like you had it tied on with then that is your problem, Go straight braid because no stretch means hard angry hooksets=fish in the boat. Mono has to much stretch so does florocarbon not that anyone uses floro for top water.
I always find that bending out the hooks helps with better hook ups. Idk, I've done a lot of frog fishing and bending out the hooks is like night and day. When they stick out, it drives the hooks in pretty deep. Edit: looking close at the frog, the hooks are not bent out at all. DEFINITELY bend out those hooks
@@LoganAndersonFishing didn't look bent out enough. I usually bend them out enough to look like bull horns. Rule of thumb for frog fishing, if they are hopping off, bend out the hooks more. At least, that's how I do it.

Hey Logan, try setting the hook upwards instead of to the side. U will hook the bass in the upper jaw almost every time instead of jerking it halfway out of their mouth like u were doing when U were setting the hook to the side
I always take some needle nose pliers and bend my hooks away from the frogs a little bit. Made hooking up a lot easier and my landing percentage a lot higher. Sure you know that though.

Hey man whenever I get a bite and the frog fills with water hold it upside down to get more of the water out and also you should try a spook in that lake
You should get a heavy rod for frog fishing it’s better because you have more backbone to the rod and if I use a medium heave I can’t get the hooks pinned in as easy
Snatch Block also gotta make sure to check that drag everytime. Also, if using braid, might need to make sure you’ve got a good knot on your spool when spoiling up, braid has a tendency to slip

Its not you dude. I think the filthy frog plastic is kinda hard i was having same problem with original filthy frog. I switched to booyahpad crasher which is real soft and haven't had 1 come off yet!!

Need hvy weight rod longer the better 7"6 i sharpen the hooks. Lost to many fish on frogs dont lose them so much any more. Make sure the hooks will sink into your nails should be that sharp.

Cut the skirt a little on the legs. The fish will take more of the frog in their mouth, and a better chance to land them.

My trick is to add a trailer hook like a spinner bait. I hated frogs before the trailer hook.
