We generally keep the temp at 300 on these but you also have to factor in the distance from the glass in addition to the temperature. When we have it at 300 we tend to hold the hot air a little further away. It's one of those things you have to get a feel for.

In my opinion, using a metal pry tool is begging for disaster. Most repair videos show use of a plastic non-conductive pry tool which also stands less chance of damaging internal components.
Also where's the tip to discharge the battery first?
