Best video I've viewed. Straight to the point. Easy to understand. I like the way you rerouted the gas lines. Will definitely use this video to redo mine when the parts get in. Thanks
Just did the same job, only it took me about 3 times as long. Them fuel lines did not go easy. Got them through. Thanks for helping. From St. Paul Minnesota.
Great video. I'm currently working on the same saw and couldn't for the life of my get the carb linkage off. I'm new to small engine repair so this helped me a lot. thanks
This was great, I was struggling with this, looked at a bunch of videos you showed what to and explain it well made it easy I'm impressed with your videos keep em coming god bless......
Super video! Never had a gas chainsaw before, bought a used one was told all it needs is sharpening everything else is fine...NOT! No fuel was getting to the primer so I took it apart and everything was crumbled inside the tank fuel filter laying on the bottom pieces parts of fuel line everywhere but didn't know what went where. Thank you for your wonderful help.
This is the exact video i was looking for. Thanks for the great explanation and clear instructions. It gives me confidence to try this because my Poulan will not crank. Appreciate the li n k as well. THANKS!
Also, if playing with the adjustment screws on back pack blower, don't remember how far or how back I went on each adjustment screw. It starts up wonderfully, and runs great, however, want warms up it boggs when hitting throttle and seems to not have full power. Does stay idling after hitting throttle and letting fit, so that's a good sign. Correct. It's a echo blower. If you could help, that would be great. I appreciate ya
Thanks ,for your instructional video !! I saw a couple of videos, before yours and I couldn't understand anything....your video is the best I have seen !!
Ok got a poulon pp3516avx did your video to replace carb lines and primer bulb works great runs great, do you have a video on this saw it is dumping way to much oil from the oiler, how do I fix that 😅😅
I viewed your video for the PP4218A which is my saw. However, I found the visuals and explanation much easier to follow on this video. Provided I order the correct carb, do both saws follow the same procedures and sequence of steps? Thanks for your help.
Outstanding how to video for Poulan chainsaw new carb, fuel line and primer bulb installation. I subscribed so I can watch again for my chainsaw and any future videos.
I have poulan 3816 38cc cut about 7 trees since I owned it brand new ,did it just like in video changed the carborator cut the choke rod end off , changed the tubes twice , changed fuel filter twice , changed bulb twice , changed spark plug twice it has spark , changed gas twice , cleaned out muffler ,it still will not start ! any sugestions ? Besides buy a new one !
make sure lines are correct. filter line to right of carb left of carb to short primmer nipple long primmer nipple to tank no filter. if that is correct and it is priming. dump half a waterbottle cap of mixed gas in the carb hold throttle wide open pull till it starts. if it starts you will want to turn low screw just a smidge counter clockwise. try again. after that do the high counter clockwise 1/4 turn at a time till it runs. if it didnt start first take off muffler look at piston. if you see any lines in it its fucked if not is it flooded? if flooded turn high screw clockwise till snug tight dont over tighten. that shuts fuel off. pull with trigger wide open till it fires. now cylinder is dry. turn high screw out 1/4 turn at a time till it runs. probably 3/4 to 1 and a 1/4 turns out
Thats a great video and your explanation break down of the fuel lines was awesome !! I changed out the fuel lines, primer bulb and carb…… still not turning over….. i am wondering if its the adjustments on the new carb….. gonna attack it again in the am!!
Plug. Fowls out. New plug try starting full throttle. Notworking? Try spraying carb cleaner in carb. Try again full throttle. Let me know ill tell you more.

Great video. It's well done informative videos like this that'll always make someone, sometime go, 'Thank you. You've helped a lot.' Even if they don't post it. I'm thinking instead of 6x pushes on the primer button, it'll be 3-4 now. Is that about right?
Im 14 and have been doing this for 2 years Here's my deal when I do these saws I do the fuel lines how they were simply because when you cut down tree which lets ne honest who cuts down a tree with this saw but if you do the filter/fuel pickup need to be to the right side of the tank or it'll run out of fuel when used on it's side
Man, I have been going nuts with the damn Poulin. Gonna go run lines again. Thanks for the video. I used same size lines for fuel and return, hope that is ok!
If I understood correctly, the return hose, which goes between the large nipple and the fuel tank uses. the smaller line whereas the suction and fuel lines are the thicker tubes. Is that correct?
originaly it was the other way around but doing it this way prevents hoses crossing and pinching. just a trick i learned over the years. goes large line on right from filter to right side of carb. left side of carb to small nipple. long nipple to small line on left of tank no filter
