As an engineering student myself it's awesome to see Trevor explain the thought process on why he does what he does in regards to bullpen sessions and actual game reviews in a scientific manner in addition to asking informative questions about Kusano's slider issues. This type of thinking and analysis is taught to us by our professors but very rarely do any of us apply it to anything outside our studies so seeing Trevor employ these techniques to improve his overall understanding of how he pitches is very inspiring as it has gotten me to begin thinking analytically in regards to most aspects of my life. Good luck in Japan Trevor!
Trevor I know you’re struggling but seriously your content has helped me so much as a Junior PO in college that has definitely had my share of struggles. It’s so refreshing to see that you’re human, you make mistakes, you learn and I don’t know thank you for filming this. If you ever read this I’m sorry about what happened in the states but if you never left the states then maybe you never make this channel and then you don’t have the ability to impact so many people on a much closer connection
First off Trevor, I just really appreciate that you're sharing so much of your life,.........practices, bill pens, how you're feeling, walking around the city.c this might be a sad thing to say but this is the most of Japan I've ever seen in my life. I feel bad about that. I need to be more worldly. But the ln lastly, I played class A ball for 22 years. Never moved up from there but baseball was my life since I was 6. But I got hurt in 2010 and was out the rest of that season and all of the next season. So a year and a half. I tore my labryum. Not a fun injury. But I came back. I was in the best shape of my life. And I was 35. My cardio was better than ever and I was throwing hard. Came back and lost my first two games. Then got taken out of the third game in the second inning. Just getting lit up. Finally on the fourth game everything just clicked again and I was back in the groove. So it might take a bit. But you will get it. You're one of the best pitchers in the world. You've got this.
@@ryanolson2308 "Better than the states" is hyperbole but so is "Similar level to AAA". The truth is somewhere in between. There are tons of MLB quality players in the NPB who stay in Japan for many reasons. But the level is still overall lower than the MLB.
I think people are underestimating the huge culture shift effect as well. Moving to a different country that doesn’t speak English on top of not throwing in a professional game for 2 years, it’s going to take a while for results like he’s used too. Head up brother and keep chugging along😊
Yeah but good points. If your main mode of transportation is train and it fucks up your head everyday. It has a domino effect. If you can't walk in the store, down the street or check into a hotel and talk with the other people. That hurts too
I hope you appreciate how much the Japanese appreciate and admire your hard work and expertise as an athlete. Give every fan there a smile, a picture, and a signature and they will support you to no end.
@@burtmichaels2676 Yep, I get where you're coming from but I thought Bauer himself was really feeling the pressure. So, I didn't wanna mess with his regular gig or anything, but here's the thing: he shouldn't be throwing those high four-seamers in the NPB. His pitches have this amazing spin, but they're so predictable in their path. Lefty batters in the NPB can easily take advantage of that with a flatter swing. But hey, I still think he'll bounce back next month, so I'm not too worried.
Hey Trevor. There are some videos on RUclips said that the movement you pitch 4-seam and breaking ball are different. That’s why they could guess the pitch easily. Hope this can help! Good luck man! Wish can bump into you someday in Akihabara😂
Former professional pitcher from the Dodgers here... I felt I had my best stuff every 3rd start. Very seldom was I hitable or beatable with my best stuff, but when it happened it was difficult to overcome and prepare for next start. Big fan here, keep throwing it
Keep up with the vlogs, if over 30mins bettter!!! Also, is amazing how japaneses are respectful with u walking around, also how kind you are taking your time to understand what they r trying to say and take a photo with em!! Mad respect to u Bauer!
Thank you for the amazing content! NPB batters swings down, so less swing and misses on the higher pitches. I think cutters work well (especially inside) here. Suggest referencing Yamamoto’s (buffaloes) pitching. For places in Tokyo, if you are into special themed places, then Ninja restaurant in Akasaka is fun. Gompachi for izakaya food. Try Mt. Takao for an easy mountain hike, Kawagoe (Saitama prefecture) for traditional. Hope to catch you in my home Sendai during inter league!
I love that Mizuno flagship store in Tokyo. Was there on Saturday. Spent most of the time with my jaw on the ground with the beauty and quality of the Japanese made gloves. Saw your signature on the wall! Bummer, I missed you by 8 days. You gotta love that breaking in machine too! I bought an NPB official ball to compare to the MLB Rawlings ball. Be interested on your take. I pinged you a question on Twitter, so if you get a moment, maybe that could be covered in a future RUclips video. Thanks in advance; and hope your next start goes more according to plan!
I’ve been a Bauer fanboy since game 1 in Cleveland. Always respected the dedication and love for the game. I was even cheering during the throw over the center field wall. But the biggest thing I remember is always knowing that even after terrible game, he’d come back the next and blow my mind with an insane game. I wish I could Nippon League regularly to keep up. The RUclips videos will do for now! Keep it up!
I don't follow baseball much. I have been really interested in watching your approach to the game, preparation, analysis, and now the transition to Japanese baseball/culture. It's fascinating and I really like your content and self-analysis. Wishing you tons of success. I also think this video is insightful to the end result. Earlier in the video there was a section about your having trouble keeping the splitter down...and then it appeared that during the game, all your pitches were hanging and not below the zone....I'm sure you will make the adjustment to keep it down, and looking forward to watching that progression. Let's Fing Go!!
It’s amazing seeing how much he helps his team. Even when he may not be playing the best he is still contributing to team mates that make progress from his tips. Any and every team should have guys like this that can help everyone around them so that they can constantly pick each other up. Amazing stuff. I’m a big fan and just gained even more respect mr Bauer.
That ending had my laughing so hard! Great episode, remember what zig Ziglar always said, failure is an event not a person. You’ll bounce back next game!
Must be hard leaving family and friends, going to a country you don’t speak the language, the game over there is quite a bit different and most everything normal about your routine has changed. Going to take some time. We got your back
Looks like they've picked up on the differences in pitching motions that you apparently have for each of the different pitches. So they knew what was coming. I hope there's a quick fix for that. Wishing you the best, and looking forward to seeing you pitch again in Yokohama stadium

The recommended sightseeing spots for you are Sensoji Temple and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. Both are ancient Japanese shrines and temples, and are one of Japan's leading tourist destinations popular with foreigners. . Sensoji Temple is located in Asakusa, Tokyo, and can be reached by Keikyu Railway. Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine is located in Kamakura and can be reached in 20 minutes from Yokohama by Yokosuka Line. Please enjoy Japan!
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu has a history of only 800 years. Okunitama Shrine in Chofu is Musashi Kuni Sosha Shrine, Samukawa Shrine in Samukawa Town is Sagami Kuni Ichinomiya and has a really long history. Both have inherited Shinto rituals from the Kofun period. In autumn, the autumn leaves of Ouyama Afuri Shrine are beautiful. Ouyama is also famous among foreigners, and the site of a ritual from the Jomon period has been excavated there on the summit of the mountain, which is an object of worship. The scenery is also the best among the shrines in the Sobu area, and during the Edo period, it was a sightseeing spot for the citizens of Edo, rivaling Mt. Fuji. Mitsumine Shrine in Saitama is also good if you want to go a little farther. It has existed since the age of Yamato Takeru, that is, the transition period from the Yayoi to the Kofun period. Rather than going to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, it might be better to introduce Enoshima, which has a history of 1,300 years and was an imperial request place, and the scenery is better. Besides, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu has to go to visit the former Tsurugaoka Hachiman.

This is just part of your career and still having the privilege to start for a game is already amazing. Keep doing what works for you while fixing the one's that holding you back. You're amazing Trevor, we're rooting for you to comeback better than before. GANBARE! がんばれ!!!
I think that a blank for 2 years influences it.
And the level of NPB is high.
I believe that you revive by all means.
I am Japanese and enjoy watching both the Japanese and English versions of your RUclips videos. As a Japanese, I find the Japanese dubbing interesting and funny, and as an English learner, I learn a lot from listening to your English.
And it is enjoyable to see you enjoying yourself in Japan, going to Bubbies, Eggs 'n' Things, the Imperial Palace, Mizuno's.
By the way, have you been to Sarabeth's yet? There are two in Tokyo, one in Shinagawa and the other near Tokyo Station.
Takes a special person to win fans in both life and sport. My 10 year old loves your videos and has fell in love with the sport because of you and your personality. Just a game brother, the way you inspire the next generation is more valuable than anything you will achieve in baseball. Keep your head up, get back to work, and be you!
Does he know about the beatings?
As an engineering student myself it's awesome to see Trevor explain the thought process on why he does what he does in regards to bullpen sessions and actual game reviews in a scientific manner in addition to asking informative questions about Kusano's slider issues. This type of thinking and analysis is taught to us by our professors but very rarely do any of us apply it to anything outside our studies so seeing Trevor employ these techniques to improve his overall understanding of how he pitches is very inspiring as it has gotten me to begin thinking analytically in regards to most aspects of my life. Good luck in Japan Trevor!
Why did you decide to go to a vampire cafe 😂
Keep it up, we are looking forward to your next start. Go Baystars!
Most down to earth professional and creator appreciate this insight…my Bauer towel and jersey finally got here
Trevor Bauer is good for baseball. You’ve reinvigorated my passion for the sport and for that I thank you!
Agreed 💯%
Trevor has taken the politics and business outta the game and made it fun again.

You've got this.
my brother and i are planning a trip out to see you! keep it up
Hang in there and dont forget to have fun. We are behind you TB!!

Bro got demoted in Japan
@@ethanplinsky they play better baseball in Japan than than the states
@@zacpalochick267 lol not even close dude. Japan is regarded is similar level to AAA baseball…. So you’re completely wrong
@@zacpalochick267 that might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard
@@ryanolson2308 "Better than the states" is hyperbole but so is "Similar level to AAA". The truth is somewhere in between. There are tons of MLB quality players in the NPB who stay in Japan for many reasons. But the level is still overall lower than the MLB.
Thank you for being so nice to everyone in Japan.
I think people are underestimating the huge culture shift effect as well. Moving to a different country that doesn’t speak English on top of not throwing in a professional game for 2 years, it’s going to take a while for results like he’s used too. Head up brother and keep chugging along😊
I imagine it's tough to be stressing about train tickets and be totally focused on winning and performance.
Japan is BASEBALL country. He will love it there.
Trevor is the last guy you should be worried about after a bad game. He is the master of analysis and adjustment.
Trev being cool with the fans. Very nice!! Great guy!
Trevor, come sign in Toronto. City is fantastic and they can use your arm. You're a king bro. Cool to see you in Japan, don't let mlb drag you down!!!
We need more of your whimsical adventures in Japan. It'll help take your mind off. Don't let it get to you. You've got this!
Hate to say it but maybe he needs to shut the world out and focus only on ball. Idk, whatever it is he needs to do it
@@burtmichaels2676 Yep, I get where you're coming from but I thought Bauer himself was really feeling the pressure.
Theyre really respectful in Japan. I love it.
great content that you make a greeting and respect wherever you are
Hi, I am obsessed with your videos. I'm learning English with your videos. My dream is to meet and talk with you.
I like to see Trevor addressing the person he's talking to instead of talking to just the translator, glad to see him adjusting to living in Japan!
Idk why people hate you, you seem like a nice guy. Your vids are entertaining and you’re a great pitcher. I hope you come back to the states
Former professional pitcher from the Dodgers here... I felt I had my best stuff every 3rd start. Very seldom was I hitable or beatable with my best stuff, but when it happened it was difficult to overcome and prepare for next start. Big fan here, keep throwing it

Loving the fan interactions on the streets.
Keep your head up trev
No matter if you have a good or bad day on the bump, you’ll always have a huge fan base and followers. It’s because your a good person.
Games like these happen, bounce back stronger. You got this!
Keep Your Head Up Bauer.

I was there in the stands watching my first NPB game, also got lucky that I got the timings right on your pitching day. It was just unlucky they got your number that day.
